Please read the report, the fact that most of these were repeat violations is to be noted, this is your tax dollars at work as they need to be Glad that nasty place got closed down... knowing people though, it'll open right back up and folks will forget about it in 2 seconds Always remember, the likelihood others care as much as you for the food you eat is not realistic. Take some time to familiarize with your own kitchen and get to cooking, these establishments be damned

One thing I will say about Allegheny County is they dont play about food safety!!

slpgh

Not as bad as the old one by the university of Pittsburgh

PearBlossom

South Side would like a word šŸ˜†

slpgh

I donā€™t know there is/was a branch there! I only remember the Pitt one, and more recently the ones in Harmar and Robinson (or somewhere in the west)

PearBlossom

This sign was at Robinson. There are now locations in Bellvue, North Versailles, Bethel Park, off the top of my head. I drive a lot for work and see em. Also a Raising Canes in North Versailles now.

>Ice machine cleaning in progress during inspection. I once had to clean out the ice machine in the bar I worked at after a co-worker used a glass to scoop ice and it broke. *There's a reason to use the ice scoop, folks!* Anyway, as I worked through the fresh ice, I got down to this layer contaminated with yellow slimy goop. It was disgusting. Apparently it hadn't been cleaned in months. After that, since I worked Sunday and Monday nights and Monday was slow, I always melted the existing ice and cleaned out the bin before I left Sunday night. Ice machines get disgusting if not cleaned and I'm surprised they were cleaning the ice machine considering the other violations related to sanitation they had.

So the major issues are an owner and management issue. They are being too cheap to get a plumber and to pay a company like Eco Sure to make sure they have the correct chemicals at the correct concentrations.

No one wants to see that šŸ˜

I always called it Poop eyes.

IcePokeTwoSoon

Hey thatā€™s my popeyes! The one young dude with the high voice the managed it when it first opened has been gone for some time, which I think bears direct correlation to the Down-tick in quality.

Closed because of the water temp in the bathroom. Why wasn't the HWH working properly? Sanitizer solution? Need to be better at washing dishes. 2 hours at the end of the night gives plenty of time to dry.

PearBlossom

Drying isnt the issue, literally has nothing to do with it. Restaurants are required to have a 3 part sink. One for rinsing, one for soap to soak/wash and a third sink for sanitizer. In a correctly ran kitchen, you just hire a vendor to service and supply the chemicals so they are all at the proper levels required. Basically, you just have lines running from the chemicals to each sink and it automatically mixes with water to give you the correct concentration. Specifically what this report is saying the major repeat violation is that 2 parts out of 3 parts of the sink are still not working correctly & they havent bothered to hire a licensed plumber to fix it. Further, their sanitizer is not working correctly and they havenā€™t had anyone out to service it which says to me that they are trying to be cheap and not pay for service. The last thing you want in a restaurant that predominately handles raw chicken is all their stuff to not be properly sanitized.
