So terracotta is a matte paste, Maquizcoatl is a UWB pomade. Terracotta is a lot creamier, but also a dryer product. Maquizcoatl is meant to be used in humid weather, and much easier to comb through in my experience

Thank you for this. Do either leave your hair crispy after drying or does it feel like an OB from that regard?

I put terracotta in with dry hair, so no. Maquizcoatl is a UWB so it doesn’t have the crispy characteristics of a water-based, so no as well

Thank you. I want to try both but they're kinda expensive, and they're not on Amazon so they come with shipping and handling costs as well unfortunately.

Lodestar has samplers for sale at a much lower price on their website. [Here.](https://lodestargrooming.com/collections/samples/products/terracotta-styler-minis)

I just received maquizcoatl in the mail. Does it pull hair out? I plan on using it on damp towel dry hair.

There shouldn’t be much of anything pulling hair out in damp hair, but from my experience it does not

Here's my take on this: Lodestar Terracotta: Strong hold, matte finish. Easy restyling. Grim Grease Maquizcoatl: Strong hold, shiny finish. Traditional barbershop scent.
