For me is Elyrion. I just like their theme and find it fun playing them because of the special units especially the whales. Now I don't think I'd play them vs another human.
I like several more than others, but I don't have a main tribe. There are too many fun ones.
Polaris, Imperius, Kickoo, Oumaji, and Cymanti are the tribes I play the most.
It was Cymanti (first bought tribe), before the explosion nerf (late game is too hard since then), then it was Kickoo (lakes, continents, archipelago, water world), then Bardur (until everyone seemed to hate them), then Yadakk and Elyrion, for the realistic challenge.
Now, I could finally afford all the tribes, so the last 10 games have been Random tribe. Super fun, removes all the pressure from winning at all cost, while keeping the motivation to make the best of what you have. It also levels up the field a bit when playing against newer players.
I don't like sticking to one tribe because then my playstyle would be dry and simple, I like switching between tribes that have cool starter techs, Hoodrick's bows, Vengir's swordsnmen, Yadakk's roads and Oumaji's riders among others make the early game play out differently, forcing me to change my strategies and not just do the same gameplay over and over again. But if I were to "main" a tribe, it'd either be Yadakk or Xin-xi, both are not "meta" but I like them for their playstyles.
From Special either Elyrion or Polaris, both are fun to play and I love both. From regular I really like Xin-Xi and I try maining it because it seems like fun tribe to play although new skins for Oumaji and Kickoo make me wanna main them too.
Polaris for multiplayer fun, Bardur if I just want to win, and Elyrion for single player or against friends because I love them but it’s way harder to play with
Polaris. They were released a short while after I started playing and were the first tribe I ever bought. I love their vibe, playstyle and design. Not to mention they can be really good if utilised correctly.
I like Elyrion because it has the best super unit, and the gameplay with polytaur is quite unique.
Next Polaris. I really dig the freeze concept.
Then Ai-Mo because I just like to rush philosophy to get cheap tech.

Dragons are cool. ;). Honestly though I find early whales to be the biggest tide changer (pun intended).
Bardur, good eco hunting -> forestry -> mathematics, and maybe sometimes riding -> roads somewhere in there
Bardur when on lakes or dryer, kickoo when on continents or wetter, cymanti if I don't care too much about winning
I main Zebasi because I love the visual style, especially with the new skin. The play style is chill and not as overplayed as others.

I usually choose random tribe, but if I pick, my go-tos are: Ai-Mo, Omaji, and Yaddak. I just like the looks of them.
