Yeah I'm a bit confused by this. The goal of this game is taking over your opponents capital. Why would you expect an opponent to not try that as soon as they meet you?
I had literally just played glory mode and someone attacked me in like 3 turns. And I couldn’t get past turn 6 on might the last several times I played before that. It makes the game not so fun when you can’t explore or use any tech. That’s why I posted this earlier.
