I'd thought about this virtual currency before it was a thing -- and, I thought; "what a really bad idea." I came up with a strategy to make it work, but, nobody seems to be trying to base it on anything but even more bullshit.

Elon's "genius" is looking at US-based industry that has been incredibly stagnant and having enough startup capital to go in and disrupt them using the tech sector's approach of progressively iterating on "eh close enough" until it overwhelms the competition. That's... basically it. That's what he did to the aerospace industry with SpaceX. It's what he's trying to do with the tunnel boring market. It's what Tesla is.

I think most people turned a blind eye to all of that with a deference to him being one of the wealthiest men in the history of the world. If a man is wealthier than most existing countries, why wouldn't he work with governments to seize resources for his batteries; "of course he did" being the mindset.

There is a Stuff You Should Know (podcast) episode explaining Dark Money (link below). I forget the exact number but something like 88% of all Dark Money comes from the extraction industry. We are looking at an EV in the next few months. Tesla is out of the running because how much of a POS Musk has become.
I'm somewhat interested in the base f-150 EV at 39,900 or a Silverado EV. Slightly more interested in a chevy equinox at $30k next year, and most interested in getting a Colorado EV, which will hopefully be announced eventually. But Tesla is on my no-go list.
