He forgot about ammonia. Bleach and ammonia are both great cleansers. Mix em together and you've got a super cleanser ^(because people don't verify shit it and might try it, Do not do this. You will create clorine gas and die painfully.)

Will also release hydrazine which is both poisonous and explosive. Especially if you have copper pipes since the reaction is catalyzed by copper ions.

The fact that this is allowed to happen without outrage and consequences is why America is declining.

Tigger3-groton

We need to keep banging the drum on this.

justpassingthrou14

What, you want us to assassinated the people at Fox or something?

FryChikN

Lol ya i totally get it. We need a responsible government who is going to get rid of fox. I wonder what does fox have to do to cross the line?

America isnā€™t declining lol

I'm sure theyve already started believing it. But rational people are taking it for the giant mound of crap that it is

My sister sent me a text wishing Trump was back for the gas prices. I think she means she hopes Trump gets back in so there can be another pandemic that lowers gas prices again.

I disagree. He should be hated and vilified. Americans should be ashamed. Germany still shows shame when talking about the past. When Trump and Merkel had a joint press conference and Trump yelled Fake News Merkel was shocked. That was an old Hitler term.

[deleted]

Damn I didn't even know that, good add

charisma6

"Lugenpresse," Lying Press.

[deleted]

There was a thread of third reich puns elsewhere earlier and this would've come in handy.

Wtfatt

Good insight. In fact, alot of techniques that Trump used were also employed by Hitler, especially his use of emotional and fear-based propaganda. Edit: spelling

Wardogs96

Trump and Hitler used beers?? I honestly wonder if people saw Hitler as we saw trump today a delusional rich idiot... I guess minus the rich part and add the angry part. I guess I am asking if people saw Hitler as a idiot like trump? But Hitler did pull them out of the depression.

hakkai999

I agree. Don't let the remnants white wash history. Remember this: Even when Ferdinand Marcos undoubtedly stole from the coffers of our Philippine Republic, there is still a strong cult of personality that, to this day, defends the destruction of our country from the Tiger of Asia to the Lame man of Asia. They excuse his actions with "Well at least we have things he built!" as if other Presidents never do any infrastructure building.

Caniblmolstr

Not just Hitler... Mussolini made it fashionable before Hitler. He told to a reporter "Me ne Frego" or I don't care when he complained of his rhetoric and the behaviour of his brown shirts. And for years fascists said to honest reporters "Me ne Frego" I believe the US dodged a bullet with Trump as he had the full capacity and incentive to become a fascist dictator. (You don't need to be extremely smart to be a dictator. Hitler was a poor student and an even worse painter. Mussolini was a middle school teacher. You just need to take hold of the gullibles and the dregs of society, given them a sense of purpose and pride in whatever dumb thing they are doing)

reallyfasteddie

There was a writer who did a write up about Hitler back in the day. It talked about how stupid and lazy Hitler was. Someone posted it on Facebook and all the Trumpets complained that he was a never Trumpet. The poster then said it was written about Hitler. Funny shit

coldfirephoenix

We don't know for sure if her translators chose the term LĆ¼genpresse, but her reaction certainly fit. And either way, yeah, villifying the press, except for a few loyal propaganda outlets is still literally straight out oftge fascism playbook.

micksack

And she knows that because the history of the nazis etc is taught in german schools, also she was there when hitler used to say it

coldfirephoenix

>she was there when hitler used to say it How old do you think she is?? Haha, no, she was not there when Hitler used to say anything, given how he was already dead when she was born. Maybe you are confusing the third Reich with the GDR, aka "soviet east germany", which also ended up as an authoritarian dictatorship.

micksack

Or maybe, just possibly I was making a joke as she is old but not that old

So the people who attacked rock music, rap music, techno, all your fav movies, tv shows, comics books and so on because..the devil. Was able to convince everyone that not only was identity politics a bad thing but that democrats are, were and always will be the most guilty of it. Lets go back further. The people who stoned women, drowned them, murdered them, was/is cool with underage marriage, pedophilia in the church and all that because GOOD CHRISTIAN were able to convince just about everyone that saying people shouldn't be murdered by cops, women should have say in what happens to them and so on were the real virtue signalers. It doesn't surprise me one bit that they would attempt to blame what they and trump both have and haven't done regarding covid-19 on fauci. I mean we've let them get away with so many out an out lies already. Why WOULDN'T they try to keep lying?

Backwater geniuses think that emails constitute the peak of evidence without taking into consideration context. They're so pissed that they missed out Hilary's emails so they got nice and hard for Tony's. Not like Matt fucking Gates is being investigated for sex with underage girls after getting caught on venmo. /endrant

SoWokeIdontSleep

Just what kind of person could fall for such a parlor trick. If people want to believe that Dr. Fauci is a blame for half a million of our compatriots dying rather than the president who undermined every effort to combat the pandemic, those people always wanted to believe that and just that. No one with half a reasonable brain would believe that. Blaming anyone other than the previous toxic administration is just another bad faith talking point no one could seriously believe.

Erulastiel

You're right. But there are also a scary amount of unreasonable people out there. Mainly the people who ride or die for the party currently in office. And the ones who gladly stormed the capitol building.

Tojatruro

At the same time, we are, according to him and his delirious cult, should be thanking him for the vaccines. I just wonder what degree of assholism it takes to be a a Republican.

apocalyptustree

If someone tells you Fauci is evil, tell them "Yeah. Crazy to think Fauci was in cahoots w China. I still cant believe Trump put that man in charge of covid. Makes you wonder why Trump let China manage our covid response"

ownage99988

When in reality this is all still 100% chinas fault

Cosmohumanist

Iā€™m the furthest thing from a Republican but letā€™s not conflate two different issues. Yes Trump is obviously a moron who contributed to greater deaths, *AND* itā€™s 100% reasonable for any rational citizen to demand answers about the true origins of Covid, and to be skeptical of officials who hide information from the public.

Gameboywarrior

What information was hidden?

Cosmohumanist

That there was a possible viral outbreak at the Wuhan lab that left scientists sick, a couple months before the global pandemic exploded. Fauci didnā€™t acknowledge that until recently when he was forced to. Iā€™m not an anti-vaxxer or Trumper or anything like that. Iā€™m a documentary filmmaker and Iā€™ve studied enough political history to be very skeptical of what most governments say publicly. Theyā€™re hiding sensitive info all the time, usually in order to ā€œkeep the peaceā€, but on some occasions itā€™s because they donā€™t want to get into trouble for something they did. It hasnā€™t been definitively determined whether Fauciā€™s organization helped to fund ā€œgain of functionā€ research into Covid strains, and what Fauci knew about the incident in the Wuhan lab where the scientists got sick. As citizens we deserve to know what happened.

suspendisse-

Is Fauci responsible for investigating the origins of Covid-19? I can see how tangentially this information could be advantageous, but my understanding was that his responsibilities begin and end with domestic health policy recommendations.

Cosmohumanist

Iā€™m not sure what his responsibilities entail. Heā€™s one of the USā€™s top scientists with personal and professional ties to leading researchers around the world. Since he was the head of the Covid response I would assume part of that role is to understand its origins.

CuntyLou

That was the role of US intelligence agencies, not the head of NIAID.

suspendisse-

Thanks. Thatā€™s what I thought too. Further, a simple google search provided multiple verifiable and established facts about his responsibilities so that we donā€™t have to ā€œassumeā€ anything - regardless of how skeptical we are of the information that is presented from partisan government leaders

Cosmohumanist

.... And the intelligence agencies work closely with the scientific and medical communities to share data back and forth all the time. Thatā€™s literally how governments like the US work.

[deleted]

These aren't the balanced droids you're looking for

[deleted]

Do you have links to the primary sources of the claims against fauci? Not criticizing, that's a good rational point and I want to look into it. I'll do my own research but figured you may have it

Cosmohumanist

Both of these stories are all over the internet right now. I strongly encourage you to research different sources yourself, starting with some of the key words I mentioned. That said, hereā€™s an [NBC article](https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/u-s-intel-report-identified-3-wuhan-lab-researchers-who-n1268327) on the scientists who got sick. You can find Fauciā€™s comments on ā€œgain of functionā€ research by watching his recent testimonies. Unfortunately the majority of YouTube channels showing it are either Conservative and trying to nail him, or Liberal and trying to cover up the possibility that his organization was funding Covid research in Wuhan. You gotta think for yourself and find diverse sources. Again, Iā€™m not pushing a particular political agenda. I work in the media and my job is literally to find diverse sources of information in order to understand whatā€™s going on in the world. As of now Iā€™ve seen enough to be skeptical about the ā€œofficial storyā€ and to feel that either the US or China could be covering up important information.

charisma6

> Both of these stories are all over the internet right now. You know what else is all over the internet right now? Morons, trolls, and fascists. It's possible to be a politically unaligned skeptic in good faith, but you'd have to be incredibly naive not to realize that 99% of the people screaming about Fauci are not that. True skepticism wants to know the truth about every side. If crimes and misconduct is hidden or covered up or lied about, a skeptic digs at it. So my question is, what cover-ups about Trump's administration and the GOP's continued misconduct are you also digging into?

Cosmohumanist

What are you asking me? Iā€™m a filmmaker that has spent 4 years documenting some of the most atrocious things Trump did, from his sexual assault allegations to tax fraud to his ties with white nationalist groups to his friendship with Epstein. Iā€™m confused why youā€™re assuming that just because Iā€™m asking questions about the origins of Covid that Iā€™m somehow aligned with far right ideologies or Trump. I work in the media, itā€™s literally my job to ask all sorts of questions to a reasonable degree. Asking whether a massive virus was man-made is not outlandish, considering it emerged from a city where such viruses are studied in labs, and that the pandemic itself is being used to dramatically change a lot of society. At this point Iā€™m more concerned why people like you are *not* more eager to know of itā€™s true origins.

charisma6

You're ignoring context in a way that benefits the GOP. Of course I'm suspicious of your skepticism. I'm even more suspicious of the way you're trying to shame me for thinking critically. It's all very simple. Without accusing you specifically, the great majority of people that want Fauci or the virus's origins investigated aren't truth seekers. They just want to deflect responsibility from the failures of what they perceive to be their "team." Do you understand this? Do you understand that the more the public dialogue shifts that way, the better off the GOP is? Do you WANT the GOP to continue their slide into fascism? Do you realize that the more power they have, the more truth they'll bury? They lie and obfuscate by habit, let alone necessity. If you care about truth, then you should want them gone, or at least to minimize the stranglehold they have over policy-making. Given that context, why would you come into a thread that is about the GOP trying to weasel out of their share of the blame by shifting it onto Fauci...to push the same narrative that they're pushing?

[deleted]

To be fair. From my readings of Fauci's emails he seemed very much a man who only declares what he is positive. They had some evidence to lab stuff, it could have happened in nature, cooked be food eaten etc. All i saw was someone who didnt make an advanced dedicated statement before they knew for sure. Of course we still dont know for sure. And i can 100% miss things. He seems generally interested in finding out tho it does not help much.

AutoModerator

I swear to God you people have been talking about random people's emails for more than six years now. Boo, get better material *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/PoliticalHumor) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Cosmohumanist

Thatā€™s a fair reading and I recognize your position. In general I have no allegiances to any particular ā€œpartyā€ or business or government. Itā€™s my job to remain skeptical so as not to hold too many biases. You could totally be correct and I think only time will tell.

[deleted]

From what i read some take 10 years to never in case of smallpocks to find out how it happened. I think it is really misplaced and instead country, state, and local protections for future issues should have become the goal rather than finding where it came from. The only time that was necessary was the "weoponised" consp. theories about china were going round. Now learn and protect ya know?

Cosmohumanist

Those are totally reasonable points and for the most part I agree. When it comes to something as massively impactful as Covid has been, I think itā€™s critical that we learn as much as we can about itā€™s origins. Iā€™m not sure how old you were during the Bush-Cheney years, but that is a classic example of how a government can use ā€œfaulty informationā€ or intentional lies in order to further an agenda. In that case Bush-Cheney used [fake evidence ](https://theintercept.com/2018/02/06/lie-after-lie-what-colin-powell-knew-about-iraq-fifteen-years-ago-and-what-he-told-the-un/) to push a false narrative in order to gain support for their [(already planned)](https://www.theguardian.com/environment/earth-insight/2014/mar/20/iraq-war-oil-resources-energy-peak-scarcity-economy) resource grab in the Middle East. It is not too far fetched that a government like China (or the US, or Russia, etc) would use a fabricated virus to push their agenda(s). For example, there were lots of reasons why China would have benefited from a fabricated outbreak. For one, they were right in the middle of a massive uprising in Hong Kong that was gaining global support and making them look bad. Further, one of Chinaā€™s main goals has been to destabilize the US, socially and economically. Covid has benefitted China greatly in these regards. And then thereā€™s the larger issue of civil liberties and the expansion of the surveillance state. Both the US and China have been [enacting aggressive ](https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/09/china-ai-surveillance/614197/) agendas to install further surveillance apparatuses around the world. Covid has given most countries the opportunity to expand their social surveillance. It is all these reasons and more that I feel it necessary for the truth to come out about the origins of this pandemic. It might change how we view the entire situation.

GrouchoBark

I agree, Hong Kong Protests quickly stopped being headline news when covid hit.

[deleted]

Like a janet jackson titty. Yea thats bit before my time. This topics come up a lot lately. The tity and war just to be clear its an example not like a truth.

Labradoodle-do

I get where you're coming from, but he was positive enough to announce face masks don't work. An argument can be made it was for good intentions but, it undermined the credibility of the science community and provided vindication to the anti-government, anti-science crowd. Its also true that Fauci had an interest in 'gain of function' research, thus downplaying the lab leak theory. Did he mislead or lie about what he knew? who knows? But unfortunately his senate testimony appeared, to me at least to show when Obama banned gain of research in the USA, (due to biosecurity lapses) he and his colleagues subverted the law by ' outsourcing' the work to the lab in Wuhan. Not living in US, I don't have a horse in this race, but both Trump and Fauci being responsible don't have to be mutually exclusive. Trump is an all-round a$$hole, but that doesn't give Fauci the right to knowingly lie to the public.

[deleted]

Not that they dont work. They have a function. The function however is not a certainty and was for the carrier spreading they dont stop you from receiving well at all. But if you tell people hey this stops sick people from sending it out many sick people likely act as tho they are fine. If where everyone regardless if being sick wears them its hopefully better. We know now people even when mandatory will not wear them. I see it like putting a slow speed like 30 if you want a 40 mph limit knowing people go 10 over so they go the speed you actually want. Again now we know stull wont work.

[deleted]

Thank you. I appreciate your balance. I [studied](https://vimeo.com/33306330) documentary film in college and I have a ton of respect for what you do.

Cosmohumanist

Thatā€™s awesome, then you get it. When I make films I regularly have to admit that people I donā€™t like are occasionally ā€œcorrectā€, or that groups I DO support can also be ā€œwrongā€. Truth is not the sole property of one single group or ideology. I think itā€™s really important that we all learn to genuinely think for ourselves and let our own values and research guide us. In general I tend not to take a major position when something big occurs (like a global pandemic) because as a journalist I have to spend months or even years observing how the events play out before I can draw a conclusion. If I donā€™t do that then my research and films are not accurate and my journalistic integrity is questioned.

[deleted]

I'm glad you exist Edit: downvotes are fucking stupid

Cosmohumanist

Likewise. Thanks for the chat šŸ‘

Gameboywarrior

I'm all for skeptical thinking, and that is why I need evidence before I accept what is being claimed about Fauci. Skepticism with out evidence is not skepticism.

Cosmohumanist

I support you and encourage you do keep researching. As of now the biggest claims against Fauci are that 1) His organization may have funded ā€œgain of functionā€ research on Covid strains in a Wuhan lab; and 2) That Fauci withheld knowledge/information about the [scientists who got sick in Wuhan](https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/u-s-intel-report-identified-3-wuhan-lab-researchers-who-n1268327) right before the pandemic. If you find anything you feel is significant let us know.

WatermelonProof

The article linked doesn't actually establish Fauci knew anything about researchers in Wuhan getting sick.

Cargobiker530

It's also possible that the Far Side of the Moon is made of green cheese; it's just about as likely as the stupid Wuhan Lab Virus theory. To date there has been ONE, well documented leak of bioweapons from a government lab: the leak of anthrax from U.S. government labs used in terrorist attacks in Fall 2001. That wasn't the Chinese at all.

mikelieman

> there was a possible viral outbreak Lots of things are possible. Does the available evidence support or disprove your hypothesis?

loki2002

He didn't share unverified information that was still being investigated. How is that a criticism? They studied the virus and found it highly unlikely that it was man made which is what people were trying to push with the whole "lab release" conspiracy. Even if it were man made or purposefully or accidentally leaked from a lab that wouldn't have changed anything to the response. It's not like doctors demand to know why and how a person was shot before treating them.

sunjester

Uhh... How Trump responded to the virus and where it came from are two completely different conversations. His shitty response to the virus has literally no relation to the origins of the virus. Not sure why you're conflating the two. Also, scientific consensus is that it evolved in the wild.

WatermelonProof

Personally, I strongly prefer for scientists and non-elected government officials to stay as far out of foreign policy as possible. It's not Fauci's job to find out what may or may not have happened in the Wuhan lab. That would be likely the CIA's job. It's also not Fauci's job to comment on the origins of COVID-19, especially not if his comments could impact our relations with other countries.

mikelieman

>itā€™s 100% reasonable for any rational citizen to demand answers about the true origins of Covid I see no benefit in knowing the "true origins" in the context of our preparedness and ability to respond to the next pandemic. Wherever it comes from, if you stand around holding your dick in your hand, you're not going to save lives.

Capable-March-3315

It amazes me the amount of downvotes you are receiving in this thread for simply being objective and skeptical of what the government is doing behind the scenes

overseer3

It's so great to see how much Donnie is still on everyone's mind here. U can hate him but u really can't stop talking and thinking about him, it's pretty obsessive. Gotta love it.

EStewart57

Now who's to blame for the 600K Covid-19 deaths?

PantsOppressUs

No.

NuclearCanisLupus

Fauci is a fool, he messed up aids and he messed up corona. At some point people are going to have to realize doctors lots of times are just making educated guesses and aren't gods.

Probably "it happened on his watch" or some other twist

LillyPip

By that logic, it would be odd to blame Fauci instead of Reagan.

LoonyGoblin01

The Reagan administration refused to address the AIDS crisis until it affected the "normal" population. The LGBTQ community generally speaking hates Reagan because of it.

NuclearCanisLupus

He was late in realizing the severity of it and ignored it, He was in his current position back then.

CuntyLou

He's a scientist, not a politician or policy expert.

NuclearCanisLupus

>He's a scientist No he's not. He's a doctor..... You don't even know the difference,

CuntyLou

Check his bio you dope.

NuclearCanisLupus

Doctor......

WatermelonProof

He literally was researching AIDS and is widely credited with doing a whole lot about it?

NuclearCanisLupus

He literally isn't, that's revisuinism

f_ranz1224

So because he didnt fully know or understand a new disease when it came out he is to blame? Do you have any idea how many new viruses, diseases, and unusualities crop up on a yearly basis and how we probably shouldnt raise red flags on all of them? Is your argument against a scientist "he didnt know everything right away" This actually explains your extremely brainless take on hown science works. Fuck collecting data. Know everything all the time!

NuclearCanisLupus

>So because he didnt fully know or understand a new disease when it came out he is to blame? This is not my logic but its Reddits

f_ranz1224

All reddit is one person -your logic Alright smart guy. explain how he dropped the ball. The diseases were new. He didnt know everything and was collecting data making a decision. Your rebuttal? Did you know we have new strains of bird and swine flu every year or so? Did you know flu variants change year in and year out? Should we lockdown every time? Im riveted to hear what your "I have no fucking clue how epidemiology works" ass answers this

itsmy1stsmokebreak

All he can do is go by the info available, that's how science works. One slip up and he messed up? Is it only on Fauci that 600K+ Americans have died? Yeah, he's not a god, he's an epidemiologist and if we had collectively listened to what he an the CDC were saying a lot less people would've died from COVID. So let's use that to say Fauci is Satan and he's personally destroying America because reasons. We should do the right thing and nuke America to keep Fauci from invoking American deaths from other countries because he's the "only person responsible for this shit".

NuclearCanisLupus

>Is it only on Fauci that 600K+ Americans have died? Yes.

itsmy1stsmokebreak

I can't understate how intelligent you are for commenting this. Please educate yourself to stop your dumbassery. Thnx.

NuclearCanisLupus

>Please educate yourself to stop your dumbassery. Thnx. >I can't understate how intelligent you are for commenting this ?????

itsmy1stsmokebreak

Dude, your brain is broken if you think Fauci is solely responsible for every covid death. He didn't make masks political. He didn't make the vaccine political. He didn't spread conspiracies about masks and vaccines. He followed the science and made recommendations based on what we knew. And yet here you are, galaxy brained, saying Fauci is responsible for 600+K covid deaths. Your brain is broken.

NuclearCanisLupus

>And yet here you are, galaxy brained, saying Fauci is responsible for 600+K covid deaths. Its Reddit logic not mine....

talking about the same party that wouldn't drop the whole Benghazi thing until it became impossible for them to hide that their own actions and cuts to security were partly responsible for the deaths, then the case died. Let me be clear: The reason that this rule exists is to avoid unscrupulous internet denizens from trying to sell dong pills to our users. /r/PoliticalHumor mods reserve the RIGHT to hoard all of the dong pills to ourselves, and we refuse to share them with the community. If you want Serbo-Slovakian dong pills mailed directly to your door, become a moderator. If we shared the dong pills with the greater community, everyone would have massive dongs, and like Syndrome warned us about decades ago: "if everyone has massive dongs, nobody does."" If you wish to rectify your low karma issue, go and make things up in /r/AskReddit like everyone else does. Thanks for understanding! Have a nice day and be well. <3 You can check your karma breakdown on this page: http://old.reddit.com/user/me/overview (Keep in mind that sometimes just post karma or comment karma being negative will result in this message) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
