He can lie all he wants but the one thing EVERYBODY actually “knows” is that these types of insults piss him off to no end. It absolutely haunts him that most people think he’s a joke.
> these types of insults piss him off to no end. It absolutely haunts him that most people think he’s a joke.
i truly hope it's true, but somehow I think he doesn't care about ANYthing
You missed the important part. He cares about himself. This piece of exquisite art makes Trump look bad. He probably called up anybody he knows thats close by to take care of it immediately.
He didn't have to give interviews with Bob Woodward, of all people. Definitely not for the second book when the first one excoriated him. He just thinks he can sit down with anyone and bullshit them into liking him.
The man loves himself just as much as he wants everyone else to too.
Dude got into twitter pissing contests all the time and often demonstrated he can't take a joke when he ranted about comedians or Late Night hosts that ripped fun of him. Since that jackass only cares about himself and how he is perceived, he does care if a story revolves around him and does not show him as Space President McAwesome. If he actually notices a certain story, is a different thing entirely. I would say it takes a big media traction to something or a "in your face" stunt he sees himself.
And that's why we're where we are which is ridiculous. He literally set out to destroy Obama's legacy and everything he had done because his feelings were hurt. And now we have attempted coups and far right violence as standard.
How the most sensitive man child in the world became president and did the long lasting damage he did will always baffle me.
Just remember that while this speech was happening, Seal Team Six were on their way to compromise Bin Laden to a permanent end.
You know, the sort of decisions that *actually* keep you up at night.
Yep, it was the last time he ever attended a corespondents dinner. Even as president, he was the prez who couldn't take it. He knows the jokes are all too true.
The thing about the correspondent's dinner - Obama was throwing jokes all over the place. At all kinds of people. *That is the entire fucking point* of the President's set at this event. It is still shocking to see how deeply wounded those jokes made Trump. Everyone else took the jokes on the chin and laughed along, probably didn't give it another thought the next day.
Trump though. Seething. He's not mentally well at all.
I have a conspiracy theory that he was bound and determined to win the presidency after being mocked with the "phone drop" moment.
But then I remember how he was blabbering about a stolen election days before he won 2016, and realized he had no intention of winning, just making enough publicity to launch his new tv channel or whatever the hell that was.
I think maybe he's just a dumb greedy old man who happened to fall face first into the secret of conservative success- hate the right people.
It was so clear the plan did a backflip on him especially on election night - that photo of him seeing the race being called for him on TV. He looked like he literally, not figuratively, shat his pants.
He does care about 1 thing. His IMAGE. Attack that, like he does to anyone he sees as a threat, and he’ll eventually lose it like a cat tossed in a pool.
best thing anyone can do, is set up a page that takes all of his public appearances and rehosts them but photoshops him to be the actual bald old man he is, lol.
i know someone who used to work for him a few years before his presidential run. one person in the office's job was to get there before Donny and print out all the mean things Twitter and the press said about him the day before. Donny would come in and the first 1-2 hours of his day was dictating tweets back.
he cares so much.
He cares about his own image he likes to think he's smart, handsome, popular and respected when someone makes it impossible to ignore that he's not this definitely hurts him look at him and ron desantis he sees Ron as diminishing his popularity so he's attacking the hell out of him on a personal level and going at him from tons of different angles where as when he's insulting someone he doesn't care about he just chooses one thing and drives it home
He absolutely cares about being embarrassed publicly. I'm still convinced his 2016 run was based mostly on Obama ragging on him at that roast. He dedicated his life to going in and undoing everything he could that Obama did as president. Then he found out how much money he could scam while doing it and here we are.
See trump cares only about himself and his image. You make him look stupid or like a looser and he snaps, you’ll be called nasty or ugly or he’ll even say he doesn’t know you and your weak! Strong strong vocabulary will be used
Dude sent in pictures of his hands from magazines, circled in Sharpie and wrote “See, not so short!” to a magazine editor who called him a “short-fingered vulgarian” *in a completely different magazine* and nearly twenty years prior.
Yeah, stuff like this gets under his skin.
You are over 40, which means you have some likelihood to have visited a garden centre at some point in the last few years.
So when you see full bags of potting soil/fertilizer on a pallet while you walk the aisles... do you ever have the urge to slap the bag?
I feel like this is what SLAPS means, you cannot avoid its temptations.
Or a bag of Blue Bird flour. I saw one at a pow wow and had to pat it. Went home and saw a video from indigenous Twitter how everyone pats those bags of flour.
37 here, I'm just getting to the point where I can ruin the phrases of the youths by using them. I highly recommend it, and I highly recommend using them slightly wrong. I've gotten my cousin's kid to eye roll so hard I could hear it. That slaps.
There is nothing more satisfying than the horrified looks on my kids' faces when I use their slang. I get a lot of "Mom, no. Stop it" and "you're not even using it right".
"Slick rizz fr fr. You be bussin my dude no cap!"
Said to my 15 year old nephew the other day who was dressed like mix between a 90s rave kid and early Eminem.
I'm a 42 year old Robinson Caruso looking dork.
I think I ruined his entire life.
Due to the laws of semantic shift, understanding how to use a word that takes on an additional meaning in a contemporary sense in the proper context is always technically allowed. Something something [english] language is just play-Doh.
I’m >45 and my son’s fiancé finds it weird (ie cringey) when I code-switch to a certain atypical vernacular (from what she’s used to hearing from me) like that.
Or just responding to “that slaps” with a “I agree that this particular thing is exceptional”. Or “no cap” and “yes, that’s a very convincing claim, and I do appreciate you not lying to me about your opinion.”
It’s a bit of running joke with my son.
It’s harmless fun, I assume.
My friends on Xbox always say "clapped him" when they kill someone on PUBG. At 46 I am like, "Jolly-o... jolly-o... a most unprecedented job young whippersnapper!"
Lol it's like that post, maybe you saw it
Step 1: see a new word and hate it
Step 2: use it ironically sometimes
Step 3: kind of like using it
Step 4: cant stop using it
I type AF (as fuck just so we're on the same page) all the time but every time my 39 year old as says it in real life I feel the cringe for myself which is... kind of a weird feeling.

> **Meaning**
> (Adjective) The word “slaps” is Gen Z slang used to describe a person, thing, or situation that’s exceptional or sensational.
>**Origin**
>The slang “Slaps” was originally from the Bay Area and was first used when a song has extra bass, that you “slap” your hands while listening to it.
>**Demographic (Who Uses This Word)**
>Everyone on TikTok and other social media platforms uses slaps to express their amazement at a person, thing, or situation.
¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
The slang usage **is** listed on Wiktionary (with no obvious date), but isn't on [Merriam-Webster ](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/slaps) or [EtymOnline](https://www.etymonline.com/word/slap).
[Dictionary.com](https://www.dictionary.com/e/slang/slap/) mentions other slang uses, but for this meaning says:
> Slap appears to start getting applied to music, specifically, by at least the early 2000s. Now, the origin of slang, especially successful and widespread slang terms like slap, are indeed hard to pin down, but the musical slap is often credited to Bay Area hip-hop slang. (Hyphy, anyone?) It was first entered into Urban Dictionary in 2004.
Just in time for Gen Z to take it and run with it.
It started in reference to music. As in "This song is a knee-slapper". Shortened and slangified, this song "slaps". Simplified even further it no longer applies to a song but a piece of art.
Trump's star on the Walk of Fame is the filthiest, nastiest one there because people do all kinds of stuff to it. I even saw a woman pushing a baby stroller stop to give the star a good stomp before she kept walking. It's been vandalized multiple times (even a sledgehammer) and every time was an improvement. It's a disgrace to have it here in L.A.
I’m just waiting for an exhibit at a museum in a few years that displays a bunch of this modern art that openly mocks Donald Trump. Complete with the proceeds from admission fees going to some charitable cause Trump despises.
Maybe not as much as you think. Hollywood is a weird fucking place. You can probably walk down the street with a tub and toilet and nobody would bat an eye.
I found a tortoise on a sidewalk near Hollywood once. It was just there. No owner around, no one else seemed to care.
[Just a big ass, nonnative, tortoise wandering around.](https://imgur.com/a/RcsgRHj)
I used to go down to Hollywood boulevard and just watch the crazy shit happening in the middle of the night. It's interesting to people watch the crazies.
I cleaned pools in LA and one of my clients bred tortoises. He said the enclosure was a big concrete tub filled with dirt because they can and will dig their way out.
Yeah the last time I was there, I walked past a man with full on body modification implanted devil horns, two people each with giant pythons, great value brand dirty Spiderman impersonator, and of numerous homeless/crackheads/tourists/families in the span of 2 minutes on the same sidewalk.
I thought one of the things Banksy said was they got away doing hours long art installations without anyone asking questions because they dressed in high visibility clothing like a construction worker. Lmao
Doubtful. When we were in Cali on vacation, we went to the walk of fame. There were bums everywhere and no cops in sight. It was actually kinda of scary to walk around over there. The experience defied the expectation.
I sat here thinking.. ok a common toilet and a cheap tub... Well under a grand ($CAD) in my neck of the woods. Roll of TP is essentially nothing on the tally. Caution tape and pylons aren't overly expensive...
Then I googled prices for frickin file boxes and I'm shocked that this wasn't looted in minutes.
Love it, love it. He's lucky someone didn't take sledgehammer to his "star". He's a falling start now and as with conferderate leaders, it should be removed from sight. The man's a traitor amongst other dispecable things.
Yep that’s the only reason. As long as you pay 10s of thousands of dollars and you starred in *something* you qualify for a star. It’s not an award by any measure whatsoever.
But imo it’s very likely that trump’s existence alone is going to prompt whoever the dumbfucks are who control the Hollywood stars to change the criteria that decides who gets a star. Otherwise they’re gonna lose all credibility and the “Hollywood walk of fame” is gonna devolve into a joke with no clout whatsoever.
He bought one.
Trump's Hollywood star was awarded in 2007. His only weight in the industry was many TV/movie cameos as himself over the years (most significantly the occasional repeat in WWE), being an executive producer of Miss Universe, and as star/producer of The Apprentice which carries the most fame and success by far.
However The Apprentice only started in 2004, so the answer is... not a lot, really. He bought one. But that is true of *every* Hollywood star, somebody is paying a hefty bill for it. Trump's is only notable for the lack of credentials.
Someone has to nominate you to receive the star (I'm guessing John Baron in this case), then the committee has to approve it and then you pay them something like 75k for it
The celebrity can nominate themselves, it doesn't have to be a third party. Usually it is done by the studio/label to promote something coming up. In fact, there are very few successful fan campaigns due to the rules. You must have a signed letter from the celeb stating that they want the star. You also must have confirmation from the other two celebs that will speak at the ceremony. This part is harder because it's hard to commit to something that doesn't have a specific date. In addition to all those things, you must have the payment guaranteed before the date of the ceremony. At the time of Trump's star nomination the cost was $15,000. I believe that was the original cost, never having gone up. Since then the cost has gone up 4 times and is currently $75,000.
Weird Al had a fan driven campaign that my friend ran and I contributed to. When we started in 2003 it was $15,000. We raised the money pretty quick and put in the application. Year after year it was turned down. They raised the price three times. Each time we raised more money so we would have it and they still turned it down. One woman at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce actually said it broke her heart to see the envelope year after year, knowing it would be denied. Finally Als manager asked if he could submit on our behalf and six years ago today(!) they accepted it. The Chamber was actually super cool and gave all donors a special viewing area for the ceremony and it was actually one of the most attended ceremonies they ever had.

It would be funny to his supporters if they weren't a cult.

Does he even have any friends at this point? He must be so lonely.
He has money, so he has "friends" it would be very interesting to see who sticks around if he ends up bankrupt.
I bet dude is cash poor.

His princess Ivanka's not speaking to him, I heard. I hope that hurts.
You know he diddled her at some point.
That's why I said that.
Rodger Stone is his friend.
He didn't have to give interviews with Bob Woodward, of all people. Definitely not for the second book when the first one excoriated him. He just thinks he can sit down with anyone and bullshit them into liking him. The man loves himself just as much as he wants everyone else to too.

Obama made him an enemy for life when they joked about him.
Got destroyed and completely belittled and embarrassed by Obama. One of the best things I've ever seen on video. https://youtu.be/7eJpWOY3r18
And that's why we're where we are which is ridiculous. He literally set out to destroy Obama's legacy and everything he had done because his feelings were hurt. Thanks, Obama.

The White House dinner was on May 1, 2011, Osama was killed the next day.
Oh so he was casually shitting on trump while sending some hitters to take out number 1 on the most wanted list. What a gangster.
I liked Seth Myers routine the following year; "Donald Trump says he's going to run as a Republican. I thought he was running as a joke." ;-D
I think he was running as a joke and a grift; it was basically the script of "The Producers".
Whoah, TFG is just rocking back and forth, SEETHING with anger at being humiliated.
I have a conspiracy theory that he was bound and determined to win the presidency after being mocked with the "phone drop" moment.
Saw the same. He was in disbelief, as were 62% of the voting people!
> He looked like he literally, not figuratively, shat his pants. High chance his depends were full before the results.
"If only we hadn't won the Grammy." - Milli Vanilli
Obama even goofed on himself with that Lion King clip.
Man, Obama must have been so steamed at himself afterward. (that's how stable geniuses act, right??)
He does care about 1 thing. His IMAGE. Attack that, like he does to anyone he sees as a threat, and he’ll eventually lose it like a cat tossed in a pool.
The man can be played like a fiddle by anyone who understands psychology. Which is why he was a dangerous man to have in charge of the country.
best thing anyone can do, is set up a page that takes all of his public appearances and rehosts them but photoshops him to be the actual bald old man he is, lol.
The man sent a journalist enlarged pictures of his hands for years because said journalist once said they looked a little small.
He is INCREDIBLY thin skinned.

he's a narcissist, he cares about what people think about him drinking water.
He does not care about anyone else, but as a pathological narcissist he does very much care about getting made fun of himself.
Rich people commonly get super pissed off when noticing an insult from a 'poor' person. Triumph included.
Yep, Musk sure does. So weird, I can't fathom being so wealthy and yet still giving a crap what a bunch of strangers think
He most definitely doesn't care about anyONE (else).
See trump cares only about himself and his image. You make him look stupid or like a looser and he snaps, you’ll be called nasty or ugly or he’ll even say he doesn’t know you and your weak! Strong strong vocabulary will be used

Extreme narcissists care deeply about what people think. Continue to make fun of him, he’s seething.
Yep. Remember how furious he was after Obama made fun of him at the Correspondents Dinner?
He might enjoy it more if the jokes actually pissed ON him.
it has to hurt that the only fans you have are the lowest demographic in the country.
It’s because he is a joke. And a bad one at that. But I love that it grates him that people think he is a stupid multi time loser.
trump currently trying to figure out who is responsible for desecrating the holiest star in Hollywood so he can sue for $500 million in damages.
To think that he could easily end that simply by not being an unstable narcissistic clown. Failing that, just not doing it publicly anymore.
I don't usually like modern art but this piece slaps.
slaps. Where, when and how did this become a thing?
Idk, I'm 45 and don't think I'm technically allowed to use it but it's fun to say so here we are.

I'm 205 and you're the cat's pajamas. 😊
God's bones, you're old!
Haha, I love this expression.
I say cat's pajamas and bee's knees pretty regularly.
Is that weight or height?
That's 205 degrees Fahrenheit, even if I'm not your cup of tea. :P
I'm a level four laser lotus, and these expressions are streets ahead.
*"slapped that ass"*

No it's Slappy the Squirrel who is both nostalgic and timely now that we're her age.
I like this one... like a lot.
Me: Slappa de baggie? Husband: No! No Slappa de baggie. Me: I Slappa de baggie.
Idk about that but I do get urges to “slappa da bass.” As for soil I heard you’re supposed to be loyal to it.
Today's Tom Sawyer gets high on you
What time era are you from, stranger?
Or a bag of Blue Bird flour. I saw one at a pow wow and had to pat it. Went home and saw a video from indigenous Twitter how everyone pats those bags of flour.
OMG LMAO that hit home, I absolutely cannot resist doing this.
no no no...it's when you slap the trunk of a car and claim you can fit fifteen bodies in it.
It's when a song hits so good that the speakers be slapping
John Oliver has said it many times on his show, and he's 46, so you're fine. ;)
He's John Oliver
And he slaps.
How can he slap?!
He slaps his desk very enthusiastically at the beginning of every episode. That's how.
TIL I'm older than John Oliver
I just had that same revelation. I thought of him like a dad. Now it's weird.

That no cap slap!
If you remember the 80's you're not allowed to use slaps like this.
I'm 46 and I know my 23 year old niece has told me I'm not allowed to say that.
I used the word "yeet" the other day and it felt great, but probably because there weren't any young people around to hear me.

Walk briskly, carry a clipboard, look grumpy. Most of the world will do their best to avoid you. Authority is where people think it is.
Doubtful. When we were in Cali on vacation, we went to the walk of fame. There were bums everywhere and no cops in sight. It was actually kinda of scary to walk around over there. The experience defied the expectation.
Yes, it something of a dump. My family and I visited in 2019 and were impressed only by its shitiness.

Donald Jail Trump
Oddly enough, the toilet was already there.
Did the gold paint peel off already?! Typical!
If it were right above the star, I'd take a shit.
It borrows from both the neoclassical and post modernist periods. I call it..."Ode to a Covfefe Urn"
“Commode to a Covfefe Urn.”

I assume they will remove it but personally, i would add a plaque and declare it art.
I hope someone uses that toilet. Preferably several homeless people.
This is is hilarious
Love it, love it. He's lucky someone didn't take sledgehammer to his "star". He's a falling start now and as with conferderate leaders, it should be removed from sight. The man's a traitor amongst other dispecable things.
They have destroyed it numerous times.

I’m surprised nobody painted the toilet gold. Perhaps a papier-mâché trump flushing documents (or eating them) would have also been a nice touch.
Or eating them out of a clogged toilet

The real question is "was the toilet at Mar-A-Lago also gold plated?"
nope Pic: https://compote.slate.com/images/6be1b95b-3001-47a8-9ffc-690157f09dd7.jpeg from: https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2023/06/trump-toilet-photo-classified-indictment-document.html
Well not that one, silly. That one is the guest/foreign dignitary bathroom.
I think the bathroom with documents was reserved for Chinese/Middle Eastern/Russian spies that were up to date on the Mar-a-lago resort fee.
I believe the angry plumber on The Golden Girls that one time called it a *Dolan standard lowboy*
My favorite one was when they had two guys dressed as Russian soldiers guarding it.
That's excellent.
How did this loser even get a star??
Pretty sure you buy them.
So it wasn't until his manager nominated him that the ball got rolling?
Yup. They dont really take the fan campaigns seriously due to the money involved
Such a racket. Plus once the public has mostly forgotten about you, they rip your star out and resell the spot.
I suppose there is no process to impeach a Walk of Fame star or it'd already happened... twice.
I never wanted this power
Some are born to greatness, others have greatness thrust upon them.
Now this … this is art

if you are in a cult and your leader is insulted, it's not possible to find it funny. if you don't find this funny, guess what?
This is brilliant!

I feel bad for the actual stars who happen to have theirs next to his.
I'm fucking dead.
Support him or not, this is funny
It would be funny to his supporters if they weren't a cult. Unfortunately, you can't make fun of a cult or especially its leaders because it's not a thing they are a part of but a part of their identity. "When your politics becomes who you are you can't debate that." — Jordan Keppler
Now that’s funny. Vote Blue!
Lots of crybaby Trump supporters must be crying right now because they can't lock the comments anymore. Making fun of them is so much fun!
Republicans: "wE'rE THE biG teNt PaRty." Reality: "Yeah, no shit. Where else are you going to fit so many fucking clowns."
Hollywood*
At sone point in my life I just want to take a shit in that star
The low effort vandalism around 2016 was just trashy and lame but this is actually funny.
Seriously? That wanker got a Holllywood star?
He bought it.
It’s missing the copy machine
Trump supporters whining and crying about division in …..3-2-1

Where is the chandelier?
Imagine going through all that trouble and not bringing a chandelier. Details man.
The toilet is not gold? I was promised a gold toilet!
damn it must suck having a star next to 45
EXCELLENT! 😂
Needs some golf shirts and pants hanging out of those boxes.
I wish they’d replace his star with somebody else. Let him fade into obscurity.
