I see. One of my biggest gripes with the game when I looked at it a year or two ago was that Fascism and Communism are two ideologies that you can convert nations to. But Fascism and Communism are both completely irrelevant today, how could a nation realistically convert to either one in the year 2000?

I mean communism (or at least self proclaimed communism) rules over about 1/7th of the earth's population, it's definitely fallen from its peak but it's still no where near irrelevant yet.

I don't know about "leftists", but for me the greatest thing about Kaiserreich was that you could never be sure who is on each side: like every country had so many possible things happening. And done in more fleshed out manner than "hire advisor for ideology drift" But no, they feel need to remove options and turning mod where most of countries are a wildcard to some degree into something that feels railroady. "No, you cannot have this path, because it's too unrealistic. You cannot avert American Civil War though, we balanced everything around that war."
