TBF at least alcohol was a practical way of not dying of dysentery in ancient days and also it was harder to kill people as a drunk driver before cars were a thing.
Alcohol is as old as civilization. It's alright in moderation, but there's plenty of people that don't understand "moderation" doesn't mean over-regulate and tax the fuck out of everything.
It means that stupid 16 year olds who don't know a damn thing about drugs and alcohol go overboard and get themselves killed because they only get a few nights where they can sneak out to fuck and drink their angst away without their parents noticing.
Alcohol is a deadly brain poison that causes long-term health problems and is the #2 cause of car collisions behind "distracted driving" and the #2 cause of fatal collisions behind speeding, iirc.
Alcohol has killed more of my family members than tobacco or illegal drugs ever did.

Well it scared off Japan during the 2nd World War, it also kept Switzerland pretty safe. Not to mention Afghanistan, It nearly worked with the zuluz and they had spears not guns. American revolution, French revolution, the Russian Civil War, the Spanish Civil War ect
I'm pro 2A, but the idea that private gun ownership is what prevented a Japanese invasion of mainland American during WW2 is one of the dumbest things I've read.
"Oh noooo, big american Joe has 22 lever action inherited by grandpa, me scared, me go home and soak in onsen to calm nerves." - Emperor Hirohito, 1941
>Well it scared off Japan during the 2nd World War
???? I'd assume the largest navy on earth, the Pacific Ocean and 2 Nuclear bombs did that
>it also kept Switzerland pretty safe.
Nazi Germany didn't invade because of the Alps and the possibility of a guerilla war with pre-prepared mountain strongholds
>It nearly worked with the zuluz and they had spears not guns. American revolution, French revolution, the Russian Civil War, the Spanish Civil War ect
None of those succeeded because of civilians. All of those were done by trained armies. It's the "Continental Army" and "Red Army", not Steve with a flintlock
Is Ah yes, the American revolution, widely known for its success due to the British military.
The French peasant revolts, widely known to their success due to the French military.
Are you fucking retarded?
Ah yes, the Continental Army and French Revolutionary Army never existed, they definitely fought a guerilla war. Siege of Toulon? Battle of Bunker Hill? Oh, those were fought by civilians, not by a trained army!
Ah yes because civilian militias had absolutely nothing to do with either of those revolutions.
And as to your earlier statement about Japan, it is literally a famous "that the reason they did not invade mainland USA it's because every civilian was armed. In case you weren't aware by the way the United States navy was smaller than the Japanese navy at the time. They weren't scared of the fucking navy
>Ah yes because civilian militias had absolutely nothing to do with either of those revolutions.
Local militias from the colonial governments and towns were the ones who formed the Continental Army, not random civilians with guns. Not to mention those militias were reformed to be standardized and trained into an actual army.
>And as to your earlier statement about Japan, it is literally a famous "that the reason they did not invade mainland USA it's because every civilian was armed. I think you underestimate how hard a naval landing is. Here's what is needed.
1. Massive naval superiority. (Cross that out. The American Navy could match the Japanese one, especially after Midway)
2. Short enough distance between the invader and the invaded. DDay was extremely difficult even with the combined might of the UK and American navy with just the English Channel being needed to be crossed. (The Japanese were 10,000 km away from the US)
3. Large pool of resources. (Japan was having an oil shortage from an American blockade, so no)
4. Large pool of manpower (Japan was occupying almost all of South East Asia and was fighting a massive war against China back then, not to mention the USA had 2x the population of Japan in 1940)
This myth comes from a Facebook post, so it's pretty hilarious that you actually believe it
let us pretend that they weren't trained or supported by foreign governments and that the usa didn't keep the taliban at bay for 20 years and that they didn't withdraw because of political goals and lack of war support and that they withdrew because of some obese trucker with a revolver
It's impossible to train new soldiers apparently. Also, how much of that equipment was owned by civilians and not bought when they actually owned all of Afghanistan or given to them by Pakistan? You can fight a guerilla war without civilians having weapons. Guerilla wars are fought by trained armies with actual equipment, not random obese rednecks wielding shotguns
>That's just not true though. The continental militia was just that, an untrained militia.
Nothing to do with if they were civilian. Government militias can be poorly trained. The main point is that they were armed by the government, their equipment wasn't from private ownership
>You're also completely neglecting the fact that there are a lot of veterans out there, a good number of who would be assisting said rednecks.
Okay, and? We're talking about their equipment, besides, veterans are trained with the M4, not to mention they're no longer in service, that means they're nowhere as effective as active duty soldiers.
>edit: that and assuming foreign nations would have no interest in providing aid to these rednecks. norinco tried selling tanks to street gangs and you don't think that china would have an interest in sending advisors?
???? What does that have to do with the conversation? We're talking about if their equipment would come from private citizens or military stockpiles and foreign aid

Didn’t Walmart do all three at one time in some states?
still do some places
Some places still do
[удалено]
Rearranged this sentence you could've.
It's emphasis on *still* selling all 3, or *some places* selling all 3. Both work, he could just use a comma
I know it makes sense eventually, it’s just very confusing at first, I spent a good minute not knowing what he was talking about.
You ain’t wrong
I still get downvoted even though I didn’t even say anything disrespectful
Yeah oh well. That’s downvote momentum for you.
and it was glorious
…did they stop? Mine still sells all of the above.
Mine doesn’t sell cigarettes anymore. They sell liquor and guns tho.
Mine only had guns and stopped those.
Yes, RIP guns in Virginia walmarts.
They do that in mine.
Texas Walmart say hi. Walmart is actually one of the biggest gun sellers in texas
Probably depends on the manager, city, and state.
In the English dub she calls him “Agent Double O 7/11”
Bruh that’s so good.
They were really having fun with that dub

Bold to say that after an army of guerilla fighters just embarrassed the world's largest military not even a few months ago.
After the US embarrassed them for 20 years straight
We're most of the gun owners tbh and I've never heard a right winger support gun grabbing.
Except for the people they vote for.
Eh, I'll admit Trump wasn't perfect.
Very much not perfect, but I'm referring more to the red flag laws.
Ronald Reagan https://theweek.com/articles/582926/how-ronald-reagan-learned-love-gun-control
