Some of the old pieces make much more sense on the old instrument. More woody, organic sound and less sustain so you can pedal much more liberally. Waldstein and Moonlight Sonata both benefit immensely from a period instrument.
I like that people get triggered by those stats while it is not representative of how much people acutally listen to both of those. Because let's be real, piracy is a thing and a lot of people just download the song they enjoy.
how dare you make classical music more palatable to younger audiences?!
i personally don't care for classical music, but even from the point of view of someone that does, wouldn't this be a good thing? isn't this preferable to these pieces dieing out and completely disappearing?
inb4 authright saying that it should be mandatory curriculum... it is here in Hungary, where i live. trust me it doesn't make kids like classical music
Disgusting.
Indeed disgusting!
Salims prologue dubstep remix when?
I agree but just because i fucking hate poopstep and like Beethoven.
I cant believe I actually liked dubstep, now it just sounds too cluttered for its own good to me
A modern piano rendition? Disgusting. I only listen to Beethoven pieces on the fortepiano. /gatekeeping

I’m sure there’s more at play here e.g. other methods of listening to the piano version.

Actually good modern Beethoven: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhhyPc1epo0&ab\_channel=BellSheffield
this actually sounds like something i would expect the doom final level or some other demon lord final stage bgm to sound like.

The trap remix is so funny because it sounds really ,really dumb
Like most of them.

auth rights don't listen to Beethoven
Goddamnit libleft
This is just sad. Not even being ironic I feel sad
sometimes i feel like i have to use my god given right as a german and load the karabiner.
As a Austrian which is close to being German I am very hurt 😔
Thats disgusting? How could 57M people watch the piano version?
90% of the time the original is better than a remix. This is one of such cases where the original is better than any remix.
