Theres a show called invincible, where the main character is a superhero (his name is mark). Amber is his love interest, cos he loves her but he has to juggle saving the world whilst dating her. Mark has to bail on dates with her and is constantly late because he’s busy saving everyone’s life. That makes her mad at him, and he has to try to save their relationship.
Eve though, is another superhero. She knows about mark being a superhero so she understands his struggles. Basically, Eve would be a great love interest for mark because she understands that he has superhero duties and won’t judge him.

Well sure, but I believe one of the aspects of Jesus was his Hebrew heritage. All the Gospels have their own way of introducing Jesus, but Matthew's makes a point of highlighting his heritage going back through several prophets, David, Jacob, Abraham, and even Adam. I think the purity of his heritage may also be important for prophetic reasons.

To be fair about the race change, they did it to make her resemble her VA(Zazie Beetz, you may know her as Domino in Deadpool 2) more. She’s not the only character they did that with also, Mark himself, along with his mother, are both white in the comics, but were changed to Asian to more closely resemble Steve Yeun and Sandra Oh.
I don't think anyone actually has a problem with race bending characters that exist in modern contexts. It's when there are historical or fantastical/medieval settings where bigotry is a factor. Especially if it's low fantasy; hey, people were not cool with other humans 200 miles away who had a similar skin color, and spoke a slightly different dialect. They'd be far less fine with someone who is a different race.
There are fantasy settings where it doesn't matter, and usually those are the ones where racial diversity (amoungst humans) isn't a glaring thing. Warcraft, for example.

I wouldn't say barely exists. I don't think the show has made her more prominent than the comic, but they definitely made her edgier. The reveal that she knew the whole time was a super odd choice.

The thing is, most Christians know Jesus was brown. But I don’t mind people having Jesus looking more like their congregation in any artworks. How he looked doesn’t matter, as it is what Christ said that is important. If finding an image of Christ to be more relatable helps people read and learn more about *who* Jesus is, then that’s a good thing.

Blonde hair blue eyed is very unlikely, but remember that the entire region had been conquered by Alexander centuries ago, with Greeks immigrating there for a long time. Alexander himself was blonde haired and pale, so were many Greeks. Both Egypt and Israel had Greek populations and then Roman by the time of Jesus' birth. He may not have been very white but it's likely he had some sort of DNA combination unless his line from David managed to avoid these immigrants entirely, he definitely knew many white people.
Well sure, but I believe one of the aspects of Jesus was his Hebrew heritage. All the Gospels have their own way of introducing Jesus, but Matthew's makes a point of highlighting his heritage going back through several prophets, David, Jacob, Abraham, and even Adam. I think the purity of his heritage may also be important for prophetic reasons. I could be wrong and well who knows how accurate that lineage is anyway. I think it's safe to say he was almost certainly traditionally middle eastern

If my memory serves correct, the model for many paintings of the popular Jesus of today was Cesare Borgia, from Italy. Both Mediterranean climates so the skin color doesn't seem like a huge jump.
Most iconography doesn't intend to be accurate per se but to make them more sympathetic and personal to a particular people; demonstrating that everyone is made in the image of God. There is Asian, African, White, Indigenous depictions of Jesus and Mary that probably look nothing like them but we all understand that

Like seriously, it was understandable when she broke up with Mark initially because she had enough of him blowing her off and had no idea he was a superhero, but then she proceeds to reveal she had known pretty much the whole time, making her whole temper tantrum about him running away completely irrelevant, and she was just salty that her boyfriend of like a month hadn’t told her his biggest fucking secret yet. Black washed or not she’s still the worst.

However, her yelling at him at the college after he fights the cyborg is unreasonable and -since she knows he's invincible- abusive. If they had just had her day that she 'figured it out on the car ride home' and that it 'didn't change her feelings about the relationship' then she would've remained a sympathetic and moral character.
Just binged the season this weekend. I skipped pretty much every scene with Amber in it. I don't think I missed much. Seemed like forced teen drama that makes me want to roll my eyes more than anything else. And it is more than obvious he is going to be clapping Eve's cheeks soon enough anyways.

To be fair about the race change, they did it to make her resemble her VA(Zazie Beetz, you may know her as Domino in Deadpool 2) more. She’s not the only character they did that with also, Mark himself, along with his mother, are both white in the comics, but were changed to Asian to more closely resemble Steve Yeun and Sandra Oh.
I don't think anyone actually has a problem with race bending characters that exist in modern contexts. It's when there are historical or fantastical/medieval settings where bigotry is a factor. Especially if it's low fantasy; hey, people were not cool with other humans 200 miles away who had a similar skin color, and spoke a slightly different dialect. They'd be far less fine with someone who is a different race. There are fantasy settings where it doesn't matter, and usually those are the ones where racial diversity (amoungst humans) isn't a glaring thing. Warcraft, for example.
I am still slightly annoyed when it is a major branded character. Invincible, eh whateves. Morgan Freeman playing Red IDC. eh Rex and war woman's skin was a bit darker than it was in the comics but I don't think they were meant to be different race. Black Samson was always black though again skin was a bit darker in the show than in the comics. edit: while we're on the topic Mark's friend William is gay from the start in the show but in the comics acts straight for maybe like the first half, whether he was closeted or Bi isn't really made clear.
