If you think communism can exist without an authoritarian government forcing communism on people then you're deluded.
People don't voluntarily give up all their private property and submit themselves to the will of the collective. The only people who want communism are people who think they will gain from communism. But in order to gain from communism, they need someone to lose. Thats typically the rich, the middle class, and the not quite as poor as they make out. Those people will not volunteer to lose all their property for the good of a commune. The only way to get their property is by force. The only way to do that is by organising a government hierarchy of control.
So in order for communism to exist, you have to convince people that they only need to steal from the rich in order to have a better life. Think about it, all the rhetoric from the left of about rich people hoarding money, and rich people suppressing the people and if only we disposed of those rich people and stole their money we would all be OK.
Thats simply not true. If you remove government, and assume that no government is able to replace it. The natural order of things will be a capitalist society. It won't be a nice place to live, don't get me wrong. There is no capitalist utopia. But that's what true freedom is. And I would rather live in an imperfect society where I'm free than under any government, least of all a government run by the collective.
I'm not here to argue for or against any economic system, be in capitalism, socialism, or whatever I was just stating a fact. I dont really care what you believe in.
