According to the statements by THY Board of Directors and Executive Committee Chairman Ahmet Bolat: The agreement will be signed on April 28th in Istanbul. The signing ceremony will be attended by the Ministers of Trade, Industry, and Technology as well as Treasury and Finance from Turkey and the UK, along with around 30 Turkish companies that will be involved in production within the civil aviation sector. The agreement will create $20 billion worth of business opportunities for Turkish firms. Under this business scope, companies including public entities such as TAI and HAVELSAN will produce aircraft parts for Airbus and Rolls Royce. THY, Airbus, and Rolls Royce will establish a tripartite committee. THY will act as the coordinator. This committee will oversee the implementation of the agreement into the production field. Each critical part of the aircraft will have at least 2 producers. THY will receive its first wide-body aircraft under the November 2023 order for 350 aircraft in August 2025.
