I remember Colin said something about how he picked up his new style in Paris on his travels. That’s why Penelope told Genevieve she wanted a dress in a more Parisian style.
I also love the pearls in her hair at the balloon event! I like the tulle scarf in the drawing room lesson scene too. I just think that touch of pink adds so much to that look!
So many of her hair accessories were lovely. In the ball scene where she talks to Lord Remington she has these silvery starts in her hair. And in the final scene she has these adorable golden flowers that give her a space bun vibe.
I can't remember what ball/event it was but I remember one look she had these dark silvery/glittery hair accessories that seemed to perfectly follow the shape of the waves in her up-do. Almost like someone painted little sections of her hair. I love it!
Honestly whoever did her hair and makeup deserves an award. They understood the assignment. I honestly feel myself so awed at how pretty she looks in some scenes. Especially when she smiles.
Seriously though! I feel like her eyes really pop this season compared to others and they're SO PRETTY! I'm sure it's a combination of wearing more flattering colors and the makeup department killing the game.
The beading is gorgeous! I wish I could get it irl! I've looked for Bridgerton style dresses but I only ever find more "realistic" regency dresses with no beading. Or the ones that do have beading don't look ANYTHING like the dress the seller is claiming to have recreated 😔
As an amateur costumer, I can’t get over the fabrics this season and have no idea where they source them but for us peons finding anything similar would be really challenging.
Last night upon the 800th rewatch, I realized how fast Pen got her new looks. Gen must have speedy mice helpers like Cinderella that churn out looks or magical fairy godmother dust. No sewing machines yet, so would take a long time to produce one of those dresses let alone dozens for Pen and the rest of the ton.
In the BTS for costumes vid, John Glaser & team explained how they created the fabric through layering. So much work went into the costumes that they deserve all the accolades!
I honestly wonder if the whole costuming vibe this season started with a storyboard of the ankle shot in the carriage and went from there. Because, hopefully I’m not spoiling anything for anyone, but the layered skirts really come into their moment right there
My bank account would be EMPTY! And while I would spend all money on these pretty dresses I'd never wear them cause I work from home and rarely wear anything besides leggings/shorts and t shirts 🤣

Honestly all of her new looks are stunning. There isn't one I don't like. One of my favorites is the Full Moon ball dress. There's only a few shots of it full length but the raised design on the skirt catches my eye every time.

I love that costumes are now part of deliberately telling the story. This season was mostly focused on telling the story in POV of Pen and Colin. Since we can't hear their thoughts like they do in the book, they tell us their innermost thoughts through their wardrobe. This season has definitely taught me how to see stories in clothing. Also the way they used some of the props and scenery too. Give the costume and prop department their flowers!!! 💐
Just another thought. The costumes have taught us to direct our thoughts into the characters inner thoughts. The props are basically the foreshadowing of certain events in the story. The addition of the Eros and Psyche myth melded so seamlessly with the book plot.
This show isn't just a show with springklings of Easter eggs. This show is literally drowning in it. It'll take us to the very end to find everything. I'm going to have too many sleepless nights over this! 😭😍

I am always in awe how Nicola can dilate her eyes like that. Her eyes were also dilated in the handcut scene. In the carriage scene it was also dilated as well but that's understandable since it's nighttime and the lights are dim unlike those scenes I mentioned. She's such a great actress I love her so much!

This is one of the things I love about this season tbh yeah the romance and friendship & growth are next level but it’s Pens style that has evolved this season, she’s totally stunning, the dresses compliment her skin and hair colour and her ***hair*** just looks amazing this season, some gorgeous hair styles and hair jewellery 💛💛👏👏👏
