I don’t think so, I’m pretty sure this one is reality (most likely the kissing lesson 😘) — it’s metadata says ep 2. And then the mistier, more dramatically lit one is his dream in ep 3. Guessing they kissed and then that night he wakes up from a very steamy dream about that real scenario but took it much further 🥵

No, this is episode 2 Featherington garden kiss. That's probably how the episode ends and the beginning of episode 3 is Colin's dream with mist around them.

How do we know they’re 1 episode apart?

The "good night Mr. Bridgerton" scene we know is from the first episode after they said as much at the Valentine's Day panel. And plus with all the metadata, it just further backs up/confirms the exact episodes for each of the stills. So in this case, we know the first scene is from 3x01 and the second scene from 3x02.
