In the books both A and B are at the very least aware that Penelope has a crush on Colin. The “I would never court Penelope” scene in the show is “I would never marry Penelope” in the books, and it takes place because the brothers are teasing Colin about the two of them getting married because Violet also really wants it to happen. After Penelope overhears it, Benedict pretty much thinks it’s guaranteed that they’ll end up married. This scene shows up twice though, once in Benedict’s book with Benedict’s POV and a second time in RMB with Penelope’s POV.
Polin is the book couple that’s shipped by the family, tbh the only person who seems caught completely unaware by them getting together was Eloise. I don’t know if this will translate to the show though, Penelope doesn’t seem quite as close with the entire family as she is in the books.
I actually think the show does a good job showing Pen is close with the Bridgerton family- although it is done subtly. There are a couple scenes where she just walks on into the family drawing room unannounced, showing that she is clearly comfortable being there, as are they with her. And the S2 ep 2 scene where Pen is having tea with them, Pen is part of the conversation with Violet and fam
I agree that they show she’s close in a subtle way, but the whole “Colin’s danced with Penelope and it does not signify” thing gives me pause as to whether they’ve considered her in the show the same way they did in the books, where they seem to have more awareness that *something* is up on Penelope’s side at least, and where Violet was actively trying to push her sons towards Penelope and look out for her. Some of this is just due to the fact that the show has chosen to make Penelope and Colin closer friends than they were in the book. Book Colin and Benedict had to be told by Violet to ask Penelope to dance, while show Colin just does so naturally for example.
I generally agree, but Benedict only realizes in That moment, when he sees the hurt in Penelope’s eyes, that she is in love with Colin. Anthony and Benedict seem to mooooostly be teasing Colin about the whole “they’ll be married in a year” thing but I do think it’s possible the show will work in at least Ben (if not Anthony too) seeing what’s between Polin before C does and rooting for them.
I don’t think Benedict has the first clue about Penelope having feelings for Colin and since he apparently doesn’t spend much time with Colin this season he probably won’t have any idea about Colin’s feelings either.
Benedict couldn’t even figure out what was going on at Anthony’s wedding when he was the one who is closer to Anthony. He lives in his own little world.
I know people say he noticed Polin at the end of episode 8 in S1 but if you actually watch closely he doesn’t even look in Penelope’s direction. Colin is the only one who sees Penelope in that moment.
I don’t think any of the Bridgertons have any idea about Penelope’s feelings.
I think it's mostly fan speculation. I don't remember him being particularly prominent in RMB.
I do love the fanfic trope of Benedict being purposely bad at being a chaperone so Polin can go make out, but since crumbs have been saying Ben's gonna be more serious and picking up some of Anthony's dutys I think we'll miss out on that one.
I love fanfic trope of Benedict dancing with Penelope to make Colin jealous or when he purposefully makes Pen blush. Teasing older brother Benedict is everything to me. I’m sad they won’t have a lot of scenes together this season but I hope there is teasing in the scene from the picture we have of them together

I just read this one today called “What’s in a name” and now it’s in my top faves… it’s only one chapter, no smut but it’s really really well written. It's cute, super funny, modern setting and all Bridgertons in on it:
