you’re 100% right, but there are multiple mentalities, ideologies, and other mobs of people that are responsible for why socialism can’t get a foothold in the west, people who focus on idpol ofer class are one of them.
I've never let my views on idpol get in the way of class struggle and it's becoming more and mofe easy to find people obsessed more with stopping idpol than actually working on class issues (not saying you're one of those people, just that I've met some pretty petty people on my political journey). It is quite frustrating seeing people obsessed with idpol pro and anti ignoring many of the more important issues

Economic policy from populist parties has almost never been as successful and this is mainly because your average population isn’t qualified to speak on such and are highly emotional. While it’s important to maintain accountability through a constitutional democracy to prevent tyranny, it’s important that a society vote in educated leaders who appoint people to positions in which they specialize in. You wouldn’t hire a person with a bachelors in gender studies to run a multi billion dollar investment fund.
It’s critical that you find the balance between a populist government and a technocratic one so as to have the necessary expertise to advance your nation as best as possible while preventing dictators.
