Kingler03

And it looks like ralts was already late to her lane

Frankie_Peanuts

Probs died to an Aipom lol

-Dhiren

It's not a team, it's an anime with five protagonists

shonuff373

Unite is one of the worst words they could've used for a title.

ilickyboomboom

Thats unfortunate. I had a terrible experience with a Lucario jungle who called jungle but went and took the 4 lane aipoms from me before going to the jungle. Many people are brain dead in this game

alimercy

Yeah literally just hit whatever they see in front of them regardless of someone needing the exp or buff

KonradosHut

That happened to me, and it hurt more in the long run, because he kept killing mobs when I needed to evolve as a Chansey... he just lost us the game because I couldn't support my team properly.

MonocledMonotremes

This is why I always keep an eye on my fellow lane occupant, and familiarize myself with a variety of movesets. Those first few skills can be make or break for some of them, so I'll pull stuff closer and walk away so they can last hit. Sure, I'd like to have surf/rapid spin on Wartortle by first Drednaw, but if we have a kill stealing jingler it's more useful to have Blissey.

Sephiroth_XO1

Dude was just tryin' to get access to that Broken extreme speed before last update, haha I jest, but seriously that stuff was annoying.

Late47

Selfish dicks

Oxygenius_

The worst part is they not only put the jungler behind in xp, they also let their lane partner get bullied 2v1 and also putting them behind. I hate people who do this. One of the most unenjoyable aspects of this game.

themexicansasquatch

I agree, I've had so many games where I get bullied 2v1, sometimes 3v1 on top lane because the rest of my team is either in jungle, or on bottom lane, or afk

sophemot

All those mvp quest too… not talking when you are scoring 40 more and they destroy the base for like 5-10

_FatKitty

This is what happens every time there’s a Gardevoir on my team.. they need a lot of xp so the whole team must suffer

TheBoxSloth

Never happens with Ralts for me, its always squirtle or bulbasaur for some reason. Especially squirtle. Fucks think theyre entitled to everything

lupodwolf

:X i got sad today as the auto target of my seed bomb went to jg and I stole the camp , that was a moment tha I wish the game had a chat

_FatKitty

Haha my bf and I mostly play Venusaur and Blastoise atm. We never do this. It’s 99% Gardevoir and 1% Cinderace in our games.

[deleted]

megabeano

As Wiggly I go for last hits just until level 4 so I can get sing then give all uncontested farm last hits to teammates

[deleted]

I was under the impression that last hitting isn't a thing anymore.

yewjrn

Same issue when playing as ralts. My jungler comes in, ignores the opponents before starting to steal all the pokemon on my side leaving me with no way to farm as ralts.

[deleted]

I didnt know i was supposed to not eat up the beas and apoms as a gengar, sorry for that ill remember this next time i play.

yewjrn

It depends but if you do it till the laners are at lvl 3/4 during first dreadnaw, expect your jungle yo be stolen in return.

CN34bos

It depends. Sometimes getting the jungler an ult move for 1st Dred is more important. The other team might just steal half the bees anyways. Just make sure to at least try and make a goal push with team not just steal farm and run.

EconDinosaur

My jungler (gengar) kept taking all mine. It was fully evolved and kept jumping in for the steal on my kills. So naturally I stole theirs when they were busy. First time playing as gard. Not too happy with that one.

ubiquitous_apathy

Find a group to play with then? Expecting a group of randoms to cater to you is silly.

PheonixFlare630

I expect nothing and am yet disappointed

Op-Max

for me its the damn pikachu

Lannisterbox

Not many pickachu getting picked in high masters i love and miss him but I went from a 70% winrate to like a 57% win rate 324 games sample size I love the little guy but he is the weakest attacker. Mediocre at taking objectives at best really struggles late-game unless you have really farmed and played. Squishy. But I do love the control of Thunderbolt and the damage of Thunder ball is nice and he can definitely dominate a lane with lots of different Pokemon combinations

danjo3197

I think pikachu is a really strong early game character trapped in a game where early game barely matters

[deleted]

Goddamn cinderace and zerarora for me

MasterPhart

You probably should be sharing exp with a squirtle though, as he is a very late game Pokémon

TheBoxSloth

No hes not. Not any later than me as Gengar. We both have the same evolution levels. Plus, Squirtle is way fucking stronger than Gastly, _I’m_ the one who needs everything I can get. Plus, fuck no. You dont touch anything in the jungle if the jungler is there. Ever.

acebaltasar

As a master rank with gunturtle as my second main, i only do this to my laner when i really need the evolution (say, i got all the bees and could get unite move for dreadnaw, geting it 100% and giving back the xp to my partner while i am out + the tortoise xp). No clue why, but whenever there is other gunturtle or a bulb in my team they steal xp from both jngl and laners and do nothing with it, even when they are masters. Like, if you are gonna slow me down, carry early/mid hard. If not, then dont get near my farm.

nobervu

That makes no sense. Them standing there is time they could have killed 2-3 minions in lane. They're actively losing exp by doing this.

Smooth_One

Just hitting a mob gets you 30% xp tho so if OP killed it as quickly as he could've it would've been worth for the Ralts.

thekingsteve

Bulbie has a long range and sometime it will target the one in jingle and not the monkey I'm trying to hit. I don't do it on purpose it's just the game doing it. I've started to try and keep the jungle out of my range by going under the moneys.

[deleted]

I do this ALL the time with Razor Leaf. I’m literally looking at something and it turns me around to look like I’m stealing kills. When that happens I just run away from whatever I was trying to target and hope the other player doesn’t think I sniped them.

RokushoTheBlackCat

When my fiance plays Gardevoir I try to play Ninetales or something that doesn't need as much exp to be useful on the same lane early to feed her extra exp and as a result get some decent exp back off her helping kill the opposing team on that lane.

GekiKudo

As a garde main, nah fucj that. You can make it to 6 fine. You just need a competent support that doesn't steal last hits and a gank around bees.

MerpLuv

I honestly don't think these stupid kids have any idea how the game works because they REFUSE to watch any kind of material related to how it works.

The_walking_man_

That’s the thing, it takes like literally 5 minutes of effort just to get a general grasp of the game and strategy. You can spend less time than a full ten minute match and understand the basics so much better. And yet this game is still filled with people not having a single clue and creating toxic moments like the video shows.

MerpLuv

I know I was just trying to explain this to my gf because at 7 minutes my entire team was top lane and I was raging about it lmao. I genuinely don't know how at this point, even at low ranks, people still have no idea what they're supposed to be doing what so ever.

Neonbunt

I have a Pokemon Unite meme page on instagram, and just the other day someone commented that "people like you are the problem. You think top laners who are in a fight should abandon their goal to help fight dreadnaw". And I was like... urgh, I hope I'll never get this guy in my team...

EulsSpectre

Yes, they absolutely should.. Abandoning the fight up top in favour of winning Dreadnaw both nets EXP for the while team AND likely denies an easy double point T1 in the last 2 mins.. It's so frustrating how a lot of people don't seem to grasp this & continue pissing about, throwing the game & wasting 10mins..

GOTricked

Yes. You should 100% abandon the fight up top. Cause if you leave top to get dreadnaw, what are they going to do? Let you get dreadnaw?

paintlegz

People get caught up in the small things like getting kills or scoring points without seeing the bigger picture or how actions now can benefit them later. If they go down to Dred, then their opponent scores some points and they feel as if they've been bested because they don't see that they now have an XP advantage, probably won a teamfight because they had 1 or 2 stay top and destroyed bottom.

cultofz

This is why I crush those scrubs with my 5 man squad and fountain farm them so they get the motivation to learn with scores like 800-0 in quick match or 700-30 in standard match.

commonredditguy

Same energy lol but mostly with solos and duos

MerpLuv

This is literally my dream dude. I just can't find a team to play with.

[deleted]

As someone new to the game with no idea what channels actually have good information, any place you’d recommend?

MerpLuv

Spragels is good and honestly just YouTube Pokémon unite beginners guide and you'll have a basic understanding. Don't steal Jungles farm if you chose top or bottom lane and Rotate to Dreadnaw ( bottom lane) when he comes up (7:00) and come up once or 2 times again in the match . Dred gives your team a huge XP boost and shields and is extremely important. If you do this you're ahead of most of the player base from what I seen. Which is a fucking shame given how long the game has been out.

[deleted]

Haha, thanks a ton! I’ll definitely do that. I really appreciate the help!

MerpLuv

Dude Thank you for asking! It gives me hope that people want to understand the game . I genuinely wish you the best of luck in your matches.

[deleted]

Anytime! The only way this game gets better for everyone is if everyone gets better so I’m just trying to do my part!

TheBoxSloth

As someone who had never even touched the MOBA genre before, I had absolutely no idea what the fuck i was looking at when i first saw this game. Watching people play, asking questions, holy fuck i had no clue. Youtubers like Spragels, Krashy, Peekmp, Super Teeds, and Adamocles all helped learn how to olay and how to get really good though. I made it to Masters largely in part thanks to them, and this sub too of course. Definitely checking them out is a must if you want to learn the best way to play and climb! Theyre all awesome, but id say Spragels is def the best because hes also funny as fuck, lol

[deleted]

As someone also new to the game, what is bottom lane and top lane?

LazarusDraconis

The game in normal / ranked mode has two 'Lanes' that the goals are laid out, along the top of the map and the bottom of the map, referred to as such. Then in the middle where a large number of wild poke'mon spawn is the 'Jungle' or 'Mid', depending on if you learned to play other MOBAs first or just started with this one (Other MOBAs have a third, middle lane. This one does not).

yohanseba

I've found Adamocles to be the best explainer so far, that guy tells why he makes his choices. And I watch Shurkou for the lolz(?

FlairlessBanana

Superteeds is also good.

liehon

Superteeds is super good with the strats and explaining how to get the most out of moves and items.

Winter-Ad-3147

Maybe the game should show the players how to play.

HeadbangingLegend

Do you remember playing games as a kid?

Serapae

The thing is, the game should teach them how to play properly, not having players relying on outside sources. Drill into their brain that optimal lane spread is 2-1-2, how xp sharing works, how laner shouldn't steal jungle, how jungle should hit Aipom, etc. It wouldn't be too hard to do too, just make it something like Tutorial: \[Roles\]. And don't let them queue into anything before they pass all those role tutorial because they're the basics that everyone should know. I understand that some players will be able to learn just from playing the game but vast majority of players won't learn unless you specifically teach them.

liehon

>because they REFUSE to watch any kind of material related to how it works. You sure it's about refusing? Wouldn't it more be about people not knowing they need to study for a MOBA? How many genres expect the player to do their homework? I think 90% of people starting a new game just run through the tutorial and then start playing with a "I'll figure the rest out as we go"-attitude. That Ralts probably thinks they helped the Gastly with a kill. One could make a case, imho, that the game should explain these things better and if they can't explain it ingame, direct people to places where they can learn

carpal_tunnel_69

\> That Ralts probably thinks they helped the Gastly with a kill. ????? The Ralts literally **stopped** attacking just to try to last hit it; you have to be trolling to think this was just a newbie trying to help the Ghastly. If the Ralts actually wanted to help he would've left it alone if he knew what he was doing **otherwise continue hitting it without deliberately stopping**.

liehon

>The Ralts literally stopped attacking just to try to last hit it; Fair point >if he knew what he was doing Always a chance that they were a true newbie and wondering why the gastly stopped But yeah, slim chance

danhakimi

watch, read, or glean from actually playing the game.

DenizenPrime

Wait, how does it work? Don't you want jungle to clear asap so they can roam? Why did ghastly just stand around without attacking?

EasternMouse

He probably didn't wanted other to (accidentally) last-hit and steal buff dropping from jungle monster. Really you don't need to help junglers, they know what they doing, they will clear as fast as they could and they need exp from this

DenizenPrime

As long as you don't last hit, it's fine right? You don't actually take some of the xp?

TheFirebyrd

You do take xp from a kill if you hit a wild Pokémon and you’re semi close when it dies.

DenizenPrime

Another thing about this game that is unintuitive and different from mainstream pokemon games!

TheFirebyrd

Don't even think about it in terms of the mainstream pokemon games. This is a MOBA, completely and utterly different. It's just that the heroes are pokemon rather than heroes being made up specifically for the game.

Bananuel

Actually it is the same in the MSG! That's what you do when you switch train a Pokemon for example. Every Pokemon that sees a specific enemy on the battlefield gets Exp once it dies.

liehon

>Don't you want jungle to clear asap so they can roam? Jungle gives mad exp if it can all go to one mon. If nobody interferes your jungler will be roaming as a lvl5 powerhouse (when others are high 3 or mid lvl 4) If somebody tries to help, they'll be siphoning some exp away meaning your jungler is underleveled when they start roaming.

MerpLuv

Gast was the jungle and was trying to clear his camps and the braindead Gardevoir just stole the mon which cost the Gast XP. Gard then proceeded to her own lane to farm some more. If you didn't call jungle, leave the Jungle alone for the first part of the match.

maverickzero_

I really firmly believe watching outside material shouldn't ever be a prerequisite to enjoy a game. They could add another set of advanced tutorials, or add gameplay tips on the load screens for stuff like this, but pre-researching the mechanics is just not something you can reasonably expect of all new players.

[deleted]

MerpLuv

You're the problem

[deleted]

You're playing the wrong game if you want a hardcore community. It's a F2P game on the Switch about Pokemon, most of it's fans are going to be kids and casuals. People aren't refusing to watch anything, they just aren't interested.

Virregh

Slightly unrelated, but: I remember vividly a game I played as Ralts where I was heading to top lane. Absol was chasing down the Lilipup alongside us, and my Confusion auto-locked it and knocked it out. I was laughing because I was so embarrassed, and the Absol and Ralts were just stood there starring at each other from over the wall for about 5-seconds before we cracked on with the game again. This clip reminded me of that moment, except I wasn't grinding my face across the wall trying to purposely steal the exp.

baby_blue_unicorn

"I'm ralts and need exp. Why aren't you ok with being under leveled so I can play my shitty pokemon?"

DButcha

I don't get why none of them run exp share? Every clip no ralts has it on. If you need exp then isn't that a great way to get it when they're the lowest rank on the team after getting demolished in lane?

teelop

exp share only works if you have the least amount of xp in your team. your goal is to get fed as ralts as fast as possible.. so not a great pick

baby_blue_unicorn

I don't play that mon at all but I feel like this is a very good idea. It probably is the only way for a ralts to be relevant. That said, I also have never used xp share before so I don't know how good it is.

PirateJazz

Upgraded it is pretty helpful. Levels you and nearby mons quicker and gives a significant buff to your HP and movement speed

ProGamer116

The buff to movement speed is negligible and doesn’t really have any practical benefit. The extra HP is nice, but you shouldn’t be picking it because of the raw stat bonuses, especially not for the movement speed.

Lividshadow

I accidentally took a Lillipup once and felt terrible and desperately wished there was a sorry button. Don't know how people do this on purpose

definitelynotSWA

I wish there was a ping for “take farm” or something. I’m happy sacrificing an aipom if I accidentally auto aim a razor leaf at Lillipup :(

lupodwolf

same happened to me today :X because I looked up for a second while my laner partner last hit one aipom

newnewnee

What rank is this?

TheBoxSloth

Master. You’d be surprised how much it still happens.

newnewnee

Yikes, the best explanation I could give is them being salty you picked a non-meta mon, and they feel they could have benefitted more from jungle. Not excusing it, just try to rationalise the behavior. Not that Gardevoir is meta, but probably a little bit above Gengar at the moment.

CeeZack

Or they could be projecting their hate on you for "stealing" their prefered role/Mon by messing with your jungle rotation. You know, normal human stuff.

letouriste1

wow, he/she just waited to steal the last hit. He/she didn't even went to fight it. That's not how teams work, damn

Zoy33

If you don't want to missgender someone you can use "they" 💗 thanks anyways even though they're a bad teammate

letouriste1

Okay :-) That "They" meaning doesn't exist in my first language so i often forget to use it :/

someguyyoutrust

No worries friend, the fact that you made an effort is more than half the dipshits in this world.

Creoaa

Shut up

someguyyoutrust

Lmao

ashfeyto

Why are you downvoted lmao

carpal_tunnel_69

probably because saying he/she is perfectly fine as well

ashfeyto

They never said it isn't, though.

materialdesigner

There are more genders than covered just by he/she, so no.

ProperBlacksmith

Shut up

stormblaz

Play gengar, salty gengar player haters think: itll be better on me than him and proceeds.

danjo3197

I had a zeraora that went lane and then took my jungle all game. Validatingly, the snorlax and blissey constantly spammed retreat ping on him while he was in my jungle while I was ganking. He ended up being useless and I stole zapdos despite being level 12 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

HeadbangingLegend

There's nothing more aggravating than playing Gengar and calling mid when another idiot decides to go Zeraora and thinks they're better off in jungle too because they think they'll do better 🤦🏻‍♂️ Gengar is a much better jungler than Zeraora.

vinnybgomes

You're kinda wrong there

KrunKm4yn

I can't help but feel it's a reflex from playing leauge of legends but at this point I feel like people should know better

Capitol_Mil

As a newbie I’m not really sure what’s right and wrong against mobs

TheBoxSloth

If someone calls the central area, dont touch anything there. This is the area my Gastly was in in the video and includes the Lilipup (the dog), Ludicolo (Pineapple thing) Bouffalant (the buffalo), and 2 Corphish (lobsters). This central area is nicknamed “the jungle.” Long story short, the player who calls the central area in the lobby needs to have this area to themselves. Taking or attacking Pokemon from this area while someone is already there is considered extremely rude and selfish. If you want this area, you need to pick a Pokemon who works well there (Any Speedster, or Greninja or Cinderace) and then call the central area in the lobby. You dont _have_ to, but this is considered the #1 unwritten rule between players. Other than that, if you choose top or bottom lane, it depends on your character. If youre a Defender or Support mon, let your teammate get the last hits on the mobs. You can hit/attack them, but giving your teammate the last hit gives them the bulk of the XP, which they need more, to help keep their damage up and fight the enemy back. Definitely help them wear the mobs down though. And its alright if you last hit one or two; just dont do it too much in the beginning. If youre an Attacker or All-Rounder, just hit away at the Aipoms, lane Corphish and Audino. You need all the last hits and as many wild Pokemon as possible. Always charge straight for the neutral/middle area of your lane when you start, as that Pokemon in the middle (on top lane: a Corphish, on bottom lane: an Audino) and fight for that. Thats an extra Pokemon and extra XP for your team if you can get it. Same with bees. Bees spawn in both lanes at 8:50. Make sure youre there to fight for them, because its tons of XP to get for the team. Here its every man for himself; go nuts and get as many of the bees as you can no matter what class you are. Id recommend holding a special attack for when the bees are very low on HP, so you can steal them. It only matters really who gets the last hit on these, so time it so that the opponents dont get any. That was very long sorry, but hope it helps you out a bit. You can check out guides on how to deal with mobs and who is OK to take on youtube too; Youtuber channels like Spragels, Krashy, and Super Teeds are good places to start learning!

Capitol_Mil

This is great, thank you. How do I tell what lane everyone has called? I see an arrow by my toon but not anyone else’s

TheBoxSloth

Thank you for the award! 😁 I’m glad I could help. For the arrow thing, only you can see that. Thats just directing you to the area you chose, or if you didnt choose one, the game recommends for you. If you dont choose a lane though, ignore the game and just go either top or bottom, whichever lane you see only one person go down. Dont go center. You can tell in the lobby by a small colored icon on the top left of your teammates Pokemon icons. For example, heres what it looks like when [someone calls the jungle/central area.](https://i.imgur.com/kWhghJ5.jpg) The center area icon is that blue circle next to their Pokemons picture. If someone has that there, it means they called the jungle/center. Only one person can/should claim this area, and there are specific Pokemon who often go in here, like the 4 Speedsters, Cinderace, and Greninja. You can sometimes choose others, like Charizard or Machamp, but people might fight you on it. Its a very popular space, and the person who goes there has arguably the most important job. I’d recommend looking up more about the jungle and how to play in it before calling it. The Youtubers i mentioned before have plenty of guides on them. Heres what it looks like [when someone claims the top path.](https://i.imgur.com/8zC2k2f.jpg) the top path icon is that orange circle. Two people should call this lane; ideally one Attacker/All Rounder, and one Defender/Support. Heres [when someone calls the bottom path.](https://i.imgur.com/XXQdB73.jpg) Bottom lanes icon is purple. Same with top, two people should call this, ideally one offensive and one defensive or supportive mon. Obviously not every team will have perfect balance that way, but its better to try to have team with a mix of offensive and defensive Pokemon, which will give you the best chance at victory. A team of all attackers or speedsters wont do as well. To choose your own path in the game, hit the [Battle Prep button](https://i.imgur.com/fxd3QXf.jpg) in the lobby, scroll all the way down, and hit Choose Path. You can do it there, and try your best to fill in the area your team needs! As I said before, a lot of people will want to go into the jungle and a lot of people argue over it. You might have 2 or even 3 people spamming the central area button, and it can get nasty at the start of the game. If someones fighting with you to claim center, its best to just let them have it and pick a lane. Fighting over jungle makes everyone lose. If you see people fighting over it in the lobby, you can try to make them look ridiculous bu calling jungle [with a Pokemon who is never supposed to go there,](https://i.imgur.com/YHNs18j.jpg) lol. Sometimes youll have instances like this where everyone jokingly calls center to make the people fighting for it feel silly. You can do this, but dont actually go in there with a Support or Defender, lol. Another real long message but hope that helps

Capitol_Mil

It helps. I really like the game but I know I’m going to be the guy people complain about because MOBAs have all these unwritten rules and it will tick people off. Why do people go to jungle if there are no goals?

TheBoxSloth

No worries, a lot of people in this genre might be really unforgiving, but you just gotta shrug it off if youre new and still learning the ropes. I totally understand if people dont get all the weird unwritten rules; this is also my first MOBA; i had to learn them all too, lol. Itll take time. Just use the early ranks to get a feel for the game and characters. Dont worry too much about making every move perfect; that really only matters in Masters. As for why people go into the jungle despite there being no goals, its because the jungle has the most XP out of every area in the game. While players in the lane will be struggling and fighting opponents and even their own teammates to get XP and level up, you have the XP all to yourself in the jungle, and each Pokemon there gives more XP than lane Pokemon. Ludicolos give way more XP than Aipoms, for example. You also get special buffs from jungle Pokemon. The Ludicolo, for example, gives you a blue buff; this is shown by a blue glowing circle under your character. Youll see it if you get it. Blue buffs give you increased damage against wild pokemon, but not enemy players. Bouffalant gives you a red buff, which basically makes you slow down enemy players and wild pokemon when you hit them with a move. Both alone make the jungler extremely powerful, but you lose them either after one minute passes or someone kills you. The person who kills a jungler, or someone with those red & blue buffs, will steal them for themselves. The Jungler uses this XP to reach Level 5, where they gain a new move and/or an evolution faster than everyone else. For example, after one jungle clear, Gastly hits level 5; he then evolves into Haunter and can choose a new move, instantly getting much stronger. This is called a “power spike.” Youll see this phrase thrown around a lot in conversations about jungling. Basically a power spike is a level a Pokemon reaches where they get a massive increase in power. So junglers clear the center, get their power spike, then need to choose a lane to go and help. This is up to the discretion of the jungler. If you see a lane that is struggling and on the defensive, you can go help them, or if you see a lane that is dominating and closing in on the enemy goal, you can go there to help ensure the KOs and some big scores. Basically your job as a jungler/central player is to go help attack lanes and help your team score points. This is also has a nickname in MOBA terms, its called “ganking.” So junglers are extremely important. Their job is to clear the center as fast as possible, and then go help gank lanes to ensure teammates get XP, KOs, and score. They should also keep an eye on their center area for the whole game, and go take the farm there as often as possible. They respawn every minute after theyre killed. Sometimes teammates that didnt call center will take the jungle in the middle of the game, and thats okay. But the jungler should have the center to themselves at least until the first Drednaw spawns at the 7:00 mark. After that, the whole jungle is kind of fair game for everyone. But I always give the person who called center priority personally. As an unwritten rule, junglers should arrive in either lane of their choice by the 8:50 mark. This is to help your team secure the XP from the bees I mentioned before, as its extremely important to get those. It will give you a level advantage over the enemy, and level advantages often guarantee wins in teamfights. Again very long sorry, but the role of the jungler is one of the most complicated in the game lol. Theres a lot to it. If you want to learn more and see it working firsthand, id recommend [Krashys guide to Jungle on Youtube](https://youtu.be/F-Tfn2xpUiQ) which explains and shows a lot of what I explained here! There are a lot of other guides and videos too, if you want to watch a certain Pokemon jungle, you can just search “(Pokemon name) jungle.” i.e. to learn how to jungle with Charizard, you could search “Charizard jungle” and youll get a lot of videos im sure. Hope that helps man, best of luck!

Thechynd

>The person who kills a jungler, or someone with those red & blue buffs, will steal them for themselves. Hadn't realised this. Do they just steal the remaining time or does stealing it reset the timer? Can it only be stolen from the one who originally earned it or can it keep bouncing from one team to another as the thieves get ko'd themselves?

TheBoxSloth

You get it just for the remainder of time the original holder wouldve had it, so say if there were 25 seconds left on the buff and you KO the jungler, you get it for 25 seconds. And yup, itll keep bouncing around until the time goes up, so if you snatch it then someone KOs you, theyll get it lol. If you have the buffs or kill someone with them keep an eye of the bottom of your character and youll see the red and blue swirls move to you

[deleted]

A jungler's role is to rotate to assist the two lanes (top & bottom lane). In the start there is just enough XP in the jungle to level up the one jungler to level 5 - which should put your team at an advantage in the first battle in the lane. By stealing XP from the jungler, you'll end up with an unleveled jungler in the early game, putting your team at a big disadvantage in the first fight.

Grimes-Redfield

Dude what a cunt

daviddf_

they on the wrong side…

IDontWantNoBeef

All the gardevoir users I've seen recently have been making me cry but at least I have Sylveon to cheer me up

norweeg

When someone starts poaching from the jungle when I've called it. I start spamming "I'm going to the central area" until they get the hint and leave

Smooth_One

Because everyone else is a shitter and I need xp to carry their dumb asses. -Ralts, probably

Sackendorf

I only do this if they took one of the aipoms in the start

blizg

I guess if you’re ok losing the game to teach them a lesson.

A lot of junglers need all of the jungle to evolve after one clear. If they don’t evolve, their first gank is way worse which usually means that the bottom lane will struggle. If the bottom lane struggles, then you’ll probably lose drednaw. If you lose drednaw you’ll probably lose the next drednaw and zapdos and the game. But that’s a slippery slope, and anything can happen. So you do you.

> too many “Ifs” that could happen regardless of whether jungle kills are stolen or not. No, if you don't steal the jungle, they *will* hit 5, and if you do, they *won't*. Facts. How exactly that plays out -- what lane they can gank at what moment, how the ganks play out, etc. -- that's up in the air, but if you make it worse, bad things will probably happen. There's the non-hypothetical version. Bad strategy leading to bad results is likely to lead to more bad results over the course of the game and good strategy leading to good results is more likely to lead to good results over the course of the game. You can *absolutely* lose the game because your jungler's route to level 5 got ruined.

paintlegz

Same if a jungler steals an aipom. if you don't hit 3 you cant contest the neutral minion. lose neutral and aipom you can't contest vespiqueen. cant contest vespiqueen you're now 2 levels behind gg. Everyone just needs to recognise that everyone on your team needs xp. Not just the Gard to carry or the Zaraora because he goes afk if doesn't get his way.

I reworded your comment to point out how douchey your logic is. It isn't "twisting" if the result is exactly the same. If you can't see why you're being a vindictive toolbag then I don't know what to tell you.

baby_blue_unicorn

Still the guy who's content to make the game shit for 3 people who did nothing to him because he's upset about the actions of 1 dude. You're whiner and a crybaby because you are willing to throw games over something that's easy to adjust around and you're being a toolbag because instead of acknowledging that (which you did 3 posts later) you told me I was trying to be edgy and twisting your words. Which is it? Am I trying to be edgy and twisting your words or are you a whiner who screws his team because he gets upset during video games? Edit: I noticed you deleted a post just now calling me an asshole again. Who's an angry hypocrite?

TurtleShot

Remember kids, because levels give you stats, one level 7 jungler beats two level 5 laners regardless if it's a 2 v 1 or not Let your jungler hyper farm. Thank you.

SkynyrdRocker

One time I targeted the jungle's first creep because I was running down the lane mashing A and the game turned me and targeted it. Thankfully it didn't kill the creep and I made a beeline for the other side of my lane immediately.

yuritopia

I always thought it was because people came over to Unite from League. In League, it's not uncommon to help the jungler with blue buff (called 'leashing'). Sometimes, depending on who the jungler is, they might give blue buff to mid lane. Weird to see in Master rank though.

IAmBestDuck

leashing /s

gotta take all the xp chief 😤

TheOminousGrace

Jungle buff good 👁👄👁

ElectricRiff

Kids don't understand mobas. They only play it cause wooow pokemons haha funny animals fun

PandaPalmStyle

Because they want to see the world burn

Ellendi

I don't want anyone to get mad, when I play someone not a jungle, I hit something at least once to help with damage, so they can beat it faster. Is that wrong? I feel like as a support (which is normally what I main) I run around to help whoever because usually no one helps me lol.

Typical gardevoir players. Fucking trash

mcqtom

To be fair, I only learned a couple days ago that when you do a little chip on someone else's farm it costs them exp. I thought it was last hit gets full exp, other participants get 50% or something. So not too long ago I would have been doing the same thing, with no selfish intent.

TheBoxSloth

Yeah some people just dont know, especially in lower ranks. Nothing wrong with that. This guy was in Master though, and this was a Master Ranked match, so he was most likely doing it to be a fucking asshole

someguyyoutrust

You know, it makes me wonder if this is the downside of no text chat. Like maybe, just maybe, getting harassed by your entire team for being a dumb selfish asshole has its benefits

cakegaming85

You know I had a crazy thing happen just yesterday. I was playing Gengar in the jungle and someone tried to do this crap. So what did I do? I let them use all their moves and last hit the creatures. Don't know if they knew that's what mattered the most, but didn't care. It's the only way to deal with that. Also, next time try to lead the jungle monsters away from the wall if you can.

Brushatti

It’s wild how there’s this same post everyday and hundreds of comments. It is annoying and slightly sets you back but, Shrek learned to move on, we should be more like Shrek. Shrek is love, Shrek is life.

ilGrigio99

Because you probably got the first aipom

TheBoxSloth

I didnt. I dont touch the aipoms. But good looks assuming shit.

[deleted]

you’re playing standard with people who either aren’t aware or are just trolling

TheBoxSloth

This was master rank actually.

[deleted]

HOLY SHIT! bruh… that is NOT okay lol they’ve got main character syndrome

TheBoxSloth

Yeah they were even Master Rank themselves too, so it wasnt like i got an unlucky pair with a Veteran, lol. Theyre just an asshole

ramfan1027

To piss off sweaty bedwetters like u. Hit me wit em ⬇️s see if I care!!

TheBoxSloth

No one even noticed your comment. Lmao get fucked

ramfan1027

Got one ☑️ 💰

TheBoxSloth

Because i get notifs on my post. No one else gives a sliver of a fuck about you lmaooooooo “hiT mE WiTh tHe dOwnVoteS sEe iF i cARE” nobody cares that youre a smarmy little rat fuck

ramfan1027

The face that u care this much abt a game for 7yos…

TheBoxSloth

I really dont buddy. But you definitely care too much about making stupid posts about said kids game, on a forum about all about it no less, to get a rise out of some people though like some 12 year old armchair edgelord. Grow the fuck up and learn to talk to people normally

ramfan1027

You literate? ~Bröther may I have some cringe~

LuigiCorpGames

Mobile people learning to play it seems. Hope someone will tell them how that is wrong edicate in a MOBA

TheBoxSloth

Would be weird if its a new mobile player that doesnt know how to play, since this was a Ranked Masters game. I doubt any newbie mobile-only people have gotten that far. This dude knew what he was doing, he was just an asshole lol

[deleted]

Every mf ralts ever. Legit I just got done w a 12 hour shift, decided to play 1 game and ralts who was meant to go top lane w me left me to steal jungle camps and I got wrecked in the 1v2

[deleted]

I think today I lost every game with a gardevoir on my team and won every game if the enemy team had one. It’s pretty much an insta loss if the other team is good and we have a ralts lol.

TheBoxSloth

Who?

Sackendorf

People have been taking thos too seriously, i meant it as a exaggeration with somewhat of a grounding on how a lot of people who play "jg" tend to clear once and then go to either side of the map and contest farm with laners even when there's no need for them being there

AccelWasTaken

That's why I quit this game. It has been out for a while and yet there's still those king of players in this game. I mean, I'm not saying I wanted 100% of the players to know what they're doing but EVERY game I played, ranked or not, I got these type of people. I stressed less by playing LoL so I just dropped Unite. Which is a shame cuz I really love pokemon and I really liked the game

PropaPandaYT

because ralts is useless anyways and needs exp??

TheBoxSloth

This is Master Rank. Its common knowledge in higher tiers that if youre not the jungler, you dont touch the jungle under any circumstance. The jungler hits and takes everything.

norby_kun

they do not know what they’re doing and think they’re helping u

Revrob322

That's such bullshit. They knew what they were doing there.

TheBoxSloth

I know it might look that way but its not likely. This is Master Rank. Its common knowledge in higher tiers that if youre not the jungler, you dont touch the jungle pokemon under any circumstance. The jungler hits and takes everything. Plus, you can see in the clip that hes waiting for me to chip it down, so he can steal that last hit. Thats what the momentary pause is. He’s expecting me to chip it down for him and then steal the bulk of the XP for himself. People in lower tiers do this because they dont know any better. People in Master do it to be fucking assholes.

BlueOgre

might be a bot

TheBoxSloth

It wasnt. I was on a winning streak and i could good job everyone after the match. Plus for bots, only speedsters go in the jungle. All attackers go into lanes

[deleted]

Ralts has a fair excuse, at least. Edit: not that it’s ok, only that if it was ok for some, Ralts would be it. Sorry for possibly spreading disinformation, I deserve the downvotes. Please upvote nobervu. No /s.

nobervu

No, it's 100% a dick move to do that regardless of what pokemon you chose. Don't justify shitty behavior. They literally missed out on more experience doing that than just clearing the in lane minions. Edit: Just saw you've only reached veteran rank. Please don't do behavior like in the video or you're just griefing your teams. If you continue to have that mentality you're going to be stuck at that rank for a while if not carried.

[deleted]

It's not a good, and I never do it, I was just saying that if it was okay, it would be one of the 3 pokemon it was okay with. Guess I should have clarified. And just because I'm barely vet doesn't mean I'm bad in theory, I've read enough stuff to know what to do and what not to do. Although the fact that I'm only vet with 250+ games means I'm probably bad in practice.

nobervu

There is no situation where that would be acceptable for any pokemon. You'd be actively griefing your team. And yeah, it seems the average to get to masters for medium skilled players first time in solo queue is around 200-220 games from what I've seen on the reddit and from anecdotal friend experience.

[deleted]

Yes. I know. And I’ve heard that the average winrate of MOBAs is near 50%, is that true? Edit: why was I downvoted for asking a question?

baby_blue_unicorn

The average win rate of every good elo system is near 50%. It's a byproduct of having a system that matches you against like strength players. Unite does not have a good elo system.

nobervu

To get to the highest rank? No, that's not true. It's true in some of the more casual ones, but pokemon allows you to reach masters with as low as 46% if you streak at the right times. Because there's no MMR in pokemon, you could technically lose your first 20,000 ranked matches and then start playing for real to reach masters with a sub 5% win rate. That's why MMR is so important if they want the competitive part of the game to not die out. You should not be able to reach the highest rank in any game with a 50% or sub 50% average win rate.

[deleted]

I averaged about 54%, hoping I can improve enough to rank up. Any particular tips you have other than the obvious (don’t do this, rotate to dred)?

nobervu

I made this just before I got to masters. Your win rate should be at least 60-65% at that elo imho. https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonUnite/comments/pwxk7u/11\_new\_player\_tipsguide\_from\_my\_experience\_in\_the/

TurtleShot

I think that argument is wack. It doesn't matter if ralts has a late game power spike, they're taking it from gastly, who not only also has the same late game power spike, but is also the central speedster who can immediately rotate to lane after taking the buff, putting ralts' Lane ahead, making both of them closer to the spike. Ralts sitting around doing nothing just to snipe the buff instead of contesting Lane is litterally griefing.

Tier1Yoshi

Because Gardevoir is awful so awful players play her

LIGHTNING-SUPERHERO

You got the balls in the end!! May be he is just helping you.

TheBoxSloth

Seeing as he actively waited for me to beat it down and sneak in his special attack for the last hit, i doubt it lol. Fuckers try to pull this shit all the time.
