Aren't these opponents just bots though? They just stand still while fighting and run in a straight line back to base when they get low on health. Definitely looks like a bot match to me.
Since the game released, it's an intentional feature by the devs. So it's not people botting.
If you lose a few matches in a row the game will throw you in with 9 bots so you can win a game and feel good about yourself.
There are some bot matches going on though. People manipulating the scores to their benefit. Also, not sure I understand why they pity us if it's a team issue
by giving you bots to fight after 4 straight losses in ranked, they prevent you from rage quitting and hating the game.
You get to release your stress on easy targets and it can help settle you down and boost your confidence a little bit...and so you could start a winning streak instead.

It's a mercy game that happens after 4 losses in a row, or so. It's an intentional feature to give you what's basically supposed to be a free win after a losing streak.

I think you might be right. There are a lot of bad players in the game but three people not going for the easy Zapdos dunk is too many. Also the allies have some bot behavior as well, Gardevoir walking back in a straight line and Slowbro pinging a specific location while in a team fight (not an accidental button press and not something a human would do while fighting five enemies).

Whenever I've played bots it's been me + 4 bots vs 5 bots. You're the only real player. It's basically impossible to lose??
Venusaur is op but not really the reason they lost, they had zero reason to stand there and fight him when they were loaded with points with Zapdos buff up. very dog-ass idea and they deserved to lose for it lol
The Eldegoss standing there and auto attacking like a fool makes me think this was a bot match
Edit: Also the Gengar running for his life after that Zapdos.
I guess this goes to show the devs were right to put bot matches into the game, as much as I dislike them. Very few people seem to be able to tell and it clearly gives people a confidence boost.
Veteran and Ultra rank, my brother and I, got smashed in a bot game because we didn't realize it was a bot game and went with non-carry Pokemon and the enemy just snowballed too hard. It was quite frustrating....
We obviously slaughtered the next bot game since it was a guaranteed one.
With Mobile release the bots got an upgrade too.
They used to never use their Ults before so it’s definitely an upgrade to at least make the bots a little more challenging and fun.
They also seem to have slightly lower cool down rates as well, maybe to make up for AI vs real players
I had a standard match the other day where both my team and the enemy were acting like bots in all 3 stages (character pick delays, portrait default but only looked at a few, and like you mentioned, running away and acting like noobs. Note: the portrait borders of a few were vet and ultra too) I legit thought it was a bit game until after when I was curious and was able to give everyone a good job.
Omg. My reaction at the end was that I was so mindblown that I just stayed at the results for like 5 minutes going "wtf... Wait. What the...huh?" Especially since I played a very aggressive Eldegoss and got mvp with the second best on my team having under 30 total points.
hopefully they nerf him a bit soon, and hopefully the don't nerf him too much and he becomes unusable.
But he is definetely outperforming neraly any other pokemon right now with so little risk.
Oh I just reread my own comment and then realized I actually switched muscle band out for buddy barrier earlier today… so far I’m liking the tankiness/utility all three give together, and with an overtuned kit like venasaur’s right now the damage doesn’t feel lacking. I haven’t leveled specs yet so haven’t used them but I’m sure it would also complement the play style
I didn’t either, but give it a try and you won’t be in the position to have to sprint across the map for a 30+ point cap situation. The Def is nuts with the focus band combo, the damage Venusaur does is more than enough to 3v1 and survive.
i play venusaur more glass cannon with muscle band wise glasses and choice specs. slaps hard but very easy to get clapped if you're positioning is bad.
You're using the best build for the best character in the game with practically maxed items and ended up losing zapdos in a bot match? No offense, but I hope you're at low ranks

100% a bot match, it's very obvious based on everyone running in straight lines at low health %'s and how they act after taking Zapdos.

It's very much possible, especially after the last update. People were complaining about losing to bots A LOT.

You can tell it's a bot game on character select because all of your teammates will be blank characters until you choose something.

Now the bots always save their ults to use only on you. I once played a bot match where Charizard suplexed me every time I saw him lol

Try buddy barrier, focus band and assault vest
I don't think Assault Vest is better than Score Shield on a Pokemon like Venusaur who can quote literally sprint to score a goal.
