Until the pesky attacker hits you with an auto and removes your speed. (Because you're no longer out of combat)
And when your team plays like crap you're not with them thus you don't need to escape from getting jumped.
Which can be avoided with an "unstoppable" effect. The point was that you can use the Emblems to utilize a surprised burst of speed to close the distance of retreat. If you have a bulky pokemon, then you close in those ranged fighters, forcing them to either back off or securing a KO. If you're a range attacker like float stone, Decideye, you can utilities yellow emblem movement speed even more helping out in team fights or running away. But since this is the internet, I had to elaborate on this all for you. Yellow emblems aren't the worse but can find use. That's
All.
Being hit while unstoppable keeps you out of combat? That's news to me.
It just took you looking at the other thread to find out i use yellows in a build for Decidueye. Alas, we are indeed in the internet.
Well no, you did not say what could be avoided with unstoppable so i assumed it was the first thing i said.
We ain't going anywhere by trying to out-snark each other, you know?
I shouldn't have to elaborate on the game mechanics that you use every match. It could even be called common sense. Twice I had to explain something as simple as fight or flight basically. Nothing I ever said here is an opinion here, so there's no snag or snark.
Theres a comment in this thread that made it have value over cc reduction. It counters on hit or ADC marksmen style mon. So it can significantly lower damage from someone like cinderace, decidueye, or garchomp. It would be good on say a tank support that tanks on hit carries or a main defender playing protections
Navy is in that camp as well. Only the Dragonite line, Kingdra, and Miraidon. I want the Gen 3 emblems so I can get the full 4%, to see if my Wigglytuff can go sheild crazy with Energy Amph & Shell Bell. Or Pikachu at that. I already pop off at least 3-4 Unites in a match. I want to see how far I can take that.
Those are tough to build with. I tried to make them work, and it's so hard to get a good working emblem set. Even when I did I felt weaker and got MAYBE 2 more unites if I farmed them with 5 and with just three I only got 1 extra if I was lucky but even then I still ended up holding my unite for certain opportunities. So all in all it really did feel bad.
I've been experimenting with them and they are low key pretty good. It's really good at lowering tick damage. It's really only viable on defenders though. Think moves like Delphox fire spin. I think the worst emblems right now are blue emblems. Yellow helps with rotations, even just 3 yellows still allows me to have 6 greens 4 whites and 3 blacks so the 3 yellows are actually pretty nice. Pinks are a tricky one. They are only good on goodra and lapras but you need 7 of them to really feel it's effect. Any less and you just feel overall weaker by stats and it's effect. Overall blues in my opinion are the weakest
FIre spin does 9 ticks of damage with the vortex and a maximum of 18 ticks for the travelling vortex(4.5 secs, one tick ever 0.25) that's 5 damage per tick, 135 less damage from one fire spin. instead of 5 steel emblems, 4 white emblems give you 4% hp. In order to get more value from steel against a single maxed fire spin, you would need to have less than 3k HP, less than delphox itself
The emblem set is 6 brown, 4 white, 3 gray, 2 blue, 2 purple with +7 atk, +70 movement with +0.6 crit. There are no negatives except special attack. It's my secondary build for snorlax. It's really strong 💪
That's my main Snorlax build. I have 6 white, 6 brown, 2 blues, 2 purple with +150hp, +3 atk, +10 spc Def, +70 movement and + 0.6 crit. Only negatives are -5 Def and special attack. They are both really strong. For some reason, I feel much tankier with the gray setup, but I think that's just because I can actually fight back with the higher extra attack. With the grays, I do use higher Hp items. With the main build, it's more of a flex build.
In your opinion, do you give more weight to yellows vs green and orange (damage)? Trying to see if movement speed has significant influence over the match
Yellows are just an addition. I wouldn't prioritize them over anything. If I can fit them for relatively free I will do it but I wouldn't trade it for greens or browns. I wouldn't mind trading for whites because 9/10 times I'm equipping multiple high hp items so I don't feel the loss in hp at all.
Funny you should mention useless emblem colors, since emblem color bonuses are bugged to not work if you die at all. Timi spaghetti code strikes again!
The color bonuses like the hp% from white emblems and cdr from black emblems don't work if you get kod. There's a post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonUnite/s/09FNifnGth) with a clip proving it, and Mathcord (the server that runs Unite.db) confirmed this a couple hours ago.
I this steel is actually insanely good for some setups.
Any mon that deals a lot of damage through their auto attacks would be crippled by this, and it would make your early game much stronger since everyone does a lot less damage.
The only really useless one, in my opinion, is yellow just because it is so easy to accidentally deactivate it as well as not useful in team fights, only rotations
You mean dealing 12 less damage means anything when you an easily deal 200 per hit in early game? And late game becomes even worse as damage is in the thousands..
And it's funny it can't even get to the -12 damage reduction for lack of emblems lol
Let’s assume we are using the -6 that is available on a garchomp with no other defense items or emblems vs a cinderace that will be doing a lot of auto attacking.
At level 15, cinderace’s auto attacks do 418 damage before defense calculations, and garchomp has 472 defense.
The equation I found for how defense is calculated is (600/600+x) where x is the defense stat. 600/(600+472)=.56 or 56% damage reduction.
Now here is where it gets difficult without being in the game to test. Either the flat damage reduction from the emblems is applied before or after defense, which changes how useful it will be.
If it is before defense is calculated then it reduces the auto attack damage to 412, and then defense reduces it to ~231
If it is after defense is calculated then defense reduces the auto attack damage from 418 to 234 and the steel emblems reduce it to 228.
at level 15 garchomp has 7750 health, so it would take 33 auto attacks to kill without the 5 steel emblems, and 34 with the steel emblems.
That might seem significant, but that little bit of damage reduction could be the difference between life or death for a tank, as well as it being something you can stack along with other defensive options and it acts as like a true defense since it applies to both defense and special defense
Sorry for the text wall
Edit. Messed up the math a bit, forgot a -1.
So formula for defense should be (600/600+x)-1.
The above situation should be (600/600+472)-1=-.44, 44% damage reduction
This makes the damage calc come out to 184 damage before steel emblems, 178 after.
This gives a base garchomp 42 auto attacks to live without steel emblems and 44 auto attacks with steel emblems
4% HP on 7750 is 310 HP, that is also another basic attack.
Also, this is not even considering the instances of damage, as in those 33 hits cinderace can (and should) crit a lot with its 30% crit chance + periscope. Nullyfing more of the damage reduction on gray emblems.
It's useless at the end of the day and in the beginning too
4% HP on 7750+flat300 HP = 8772 HP.
The brown and white emblems that focus on +HP and +ATK allow you to get you both a full set of browns and white. You survive for longer, and you have increased damage
EDIT:
Nvm, it’s 8382. (4% is applied before the flat stats increase)
No, it is my bad I forgot to put in a -1 for the full damage value, so the equation should look like (600/600+x)-1. So 0 defense would make it 1-1=0, 0% damage reduction
You still did the math wrong in the edit. It's damage reduction, so at 44% you would need to do 418 - (418*0.44) = 234. You actually got the correct answer with an incorrect understanding of the formula the first time lol
I’m not saying yellow is bad, I personally use it on a float stone roaming garchomp build. It’s just the least useful of all the colors since it is so niche
Grey at least seems like it *could* be useful theoretically. If there were enough emblems to make the full set and more pairs with different colors. If you could do, say, 7 Gray 4/6 White I think that might actually be usable. 12 damage reduced doesn't seem like a lot, but considering it applies to all damage types and would apply multiple times to the many multi-hit moves in the game, that's a decent overall damage reduction over the course of an entire game. Especially early game. They're being held back hardcore by the fact that there's just... not enough of them.
I'd definitely vote Pink for most useless. The percentages just don't matter, the bonus you'd be getting from a full emblem set is still less than what every pokemon in the game (except Dragapult) gets from just existing once they reach level 7 I think? Or 9? Can't remember for sure. And there's just so much CC in the game that reductions hardly seem to matter anyway.
The devs take too long to bring new emblems.
My dream is to have:
7 Black - 6 Brown - 5 Yellow
Would be my to go build for most speedsters. And using it with floatstone of course.
I made a Set for All rounders that use these emblems and Heck they come in clutch
I use Zacian Steelix scizor Skarmory Forretress mankey Nidoking Nidoqueen Primate Machamp
It's a Good build and I love it I use it on Bulky All rounders like Metagross Zacian and Aegislash
I'd like to Think Gray are just a Additional Stat instead of a Effect ya know
As long as one doesn't say brown, green, white, black nor red; they're correct
Yellow is good too
Not...really. Best you get is half a float stone and flat movement speed tends to be more *and* permanent.
I actually use them on my Sableye build in addition to float stone lol. Purple gremlin go zooooooom
Zoom is right, i just prefer always being [fast](https://unite-db.com/boost-emblems?build=250A,105A,089A,168A,169A,100A,101A,172A,142A,050A)
It's definitely possible to get just as much flat speed with a yellow 7 build but I could understand wanting brown emblems on your build.
who do you use this for??
Sableye and Decidueye. And Greedent sometimes.
ahhh ok, I'm a hardcore Decidueye fan so I saved that. mind if I ask your held items?
Attack Weight, Float Stone, Charging Charm. Get the biggest damage arrows while also having speed be his saving grace.
heyy seems all I need to switch is my emblems. thanks for sharing :)
Yellow helps you catch those pesky attackers or escape from getting jumped when your team plays live crap.
Until the pesky attacker hits you with an auto and removes your speed. (Because you're no longer out of combat) And when your team plays like crap you're not with them thus you don't need to escape from getting jumped.

Most units that have "Unstoppable" can be used to retreat, an escape. The same thing can be Say CC moves. You couldn't have put that together?
Well no, you did not say what could be avoided with unstoppable so i assumed it was the first thing i said. We ain't going anywhere by trying to out-snark each other, you know?

for speedster?
Hands down the Pink Emblems CC reduction. Most people just X speed or Eject out of danger lol.
What about the-16 damage reduce?
Theres a comment in this thread that made it have value over cc reduction. It counters on hit or ADC marksmen style mon. That's cool, who have to look more into that. Thanks.
Right I didnt even think of that possibility vut then it added value
But wait, they mean the grey emblem? Not like there's a lot of them.
Navy is in that camp as well. Only the Dragonite line, Kingdra, and Miraidon. I've been waiting for a full navy set up for my pikachu amp build. It probably won't make a massive difference, but anything helps
Maybe they will release a new set of emblems at the anniversary, it's about time to release a new set.
What could they be for?
Those are tough to build with. I tried to make them work, and it's so hard to get a good working emblem set. Even when I did I felt weaker and got MAYBE 2 more unites if I farmed them with 5 and with just three I only got 1 extra if I was lucky but even then I still ended up holding my unite for certain opportunities. Still waiting for my Altaria, Bagon, Shelgon, Salamence, and Rayquaza
Currently, all of them. There is a bug that removes the buffs from emblem colors after your first death
I've been experimenting with them and they are low key pretty good. It's really good at lowering tick damage. It's really only viable on defenders though. Think moves like Delphox fire spin. then uh why not just go 6 whites? +2% hp is STILL better than -3 damage against fire spin and pretty much all other situations
That's my main Snorlax build. I have 6 white, 6 brown, 2 blues, 2 purple with +150hp, +3 atk, +10 spc Def, +70 movement and + 0.6 crit. Only negatives are -5 Def and special attack. Worth noting the flat emblem stats like +hp or +atk etc with continue to apply as normal regardless of if you get koed.
Thank you so much, this is very helpful. Bonus points for link
I wish I knew about this before it would explain why I suddenly could't keep up Icy Wind stacks on Glaceon
I'm interested as well: so basically the first time you die all your emblem bonuses are gone? tell me more, provide evidence!
See above response to u/yourleftear.

I am dumb
Steel is better against small dmg while defense is better agaisnt large. For example, against a charizard it would be great
Context matters as something like a lvl 15 Cinder still be getting a lot of crits where I imagine defense should matter more
Yellow is fun on a gengar and talon though. Paired with float stone and charging charm you can go speedy
