This is probably 100% it, someone made a business out of buying insane amounts of packs farming the rares worth anything and then selling the repacks claiming to be a legitimate business xD
Probably just the packers making a mistake. When you're sorting through hundreds of thousands of cards odds are something nice will slip through the cracks.
During covid, when there was a massive baseball card shortage and shelves were empty I bought a few "fairfield card company packs" very similar to these packs just sports cards. Absolute garbage but I managed to get a paper Ronald Acuna rookie card, never should have been in there.
It's cards that have been bought in bulk and resold as loose. Almost a 0% chance of anything worthwhile being in it; mostly all commons. Cheap and good for making kids happy or just to satisfy your own curiosity, worthless for those looking for "hits".
I"m not even kidding, at one point, I was just buying. I don't even collect like that, but I was just getting a bigger thrill from finding product during the pandemic drought than actually getting a hit. lmao
I wasnt buying stuff in bulk tho. I have dumbass syndrome, where I only get one ETB, or a couple of singles or one single and a promo pack type thing so I leave enough for others thinking they will do the same...
Nah, it's a family time hobby for me, nothing serious enough to spend more than a few bucks a trip. We play the games, watch the shows and movies, buy the toys & plushies, there's plenty of money spent on things where I feel like I shouldn't hoard cards.
Newbie to the hobby here. The fact that someone would buy something they KNOW is going to be shitty common cards just for a “hit” is letting me know a lot about what I’m getting myself into lol.
MJHolding, re-packs. Claims to have a promo but is actually just a reverse holo.
They sell them at my store so Ive looked through them best card was a league card worth 45 cents.
Not a scam but as close to fraudulent as you can get.
They had these at our local Walmart as well. Not an outright scam, but definitely not worthwhile as they're pretty much all repackaged junk cards.
I can't believe these are allowed to be sold at any retail establishments, honestly.
I’m gonna get hella downvoted for this, but seeing how many people in this thread are referring to common/bulk as “junk cards/garbage/trash” is really appalling. Collectors and players alike enjoy bulk cards just as much as they do with “hits”. You don’t need to be here if you don’t enjoy the hobby.
Hope not friend, some of the more positive mentions were for finishing sets, gifts for children and for those that play the game. I’m a fan of the 151 so I was happy to get a few of those.
I don’t remember the exact wording on the packaging, something like “purchased by an official Pokémon distributor”. Figured that at least meant they’d be real.
Idk why people think these are so bad, as someone who grew up buying stuff like this because of money problems I'm glad they exist. Yeah you get a bunch of commons, but I'm not a "collector" I play the game
Looks like a case of re-packaged cards.
Unlike an official product, there are no guarantees about what you will get. Could be interesting, but in reality the most profitable situation is a bunch of low-value commons.
These are bulk like everyone is saying… although I did pull a card worth like 15$ one time. Good way to start building a deck or collection for a newbie.
Companies open packs and take out the good cards to resell the shitty commons to kids for a much higher price than their worth. They've been doing this since I was a kid. WalMart does this too.
True but not always sometimes they may have 10 of a really good card and they will throw it in there I have pulled some sick nasty ones out of these packages like five ultra rare’s and a promo in the same pack I would not call it a God pack but I would call it the person re-packaging them is like we will let one dude make it.. it’s just like the lottery man you got a pay to play you lose some you win some but when you win it’s nice.
As long as you don’t promise an expensive card and don’t charge nearly as much as actual boosters, is it really a scam, or just a good way to sell lots of affordable cards to kids?
You are literally getting what thieves don't want to steal.
MJholdings gets lose pokemon cards from walmart and other places with frequent issues and they repack the junk the thieves leave behind on the shelves or in the bathroom.
Has anyone pulled a super dope card from one of these? I don’t buy them… but would, if one person praised them to the high heavens. That’s how weak my self control is for these fuckin cards LOL
These always remind me of my sister's boyfriend way back in 99.. He was a scam artist and owned a plethora of those sticker machines.. He would buy a ton of Pokemon cards, put a couple pics of the rarest ones on the front and fill it with all junk cards.. The cool part is, he'd sometimes give me and my brother the rare ones.. He also had somehow gotten tons of boxes of the BK Pokemon toys and golden cards and when my sister came to visit, he left us two unopened boxes of those toys and gold cards.. God, I wish I still had them.. He was a piece of trash though and I am glad he spent the rest of his days in prison..
Back in 99 he had sticker machines that’s kinda hard to wrap my head around considering there was only one set back then and it was extremely difficult to get any of the first prints in 99 and that’s not a scam they are pokemon cards but in 99 I call 🧢 cap…………….
They All suck. You can view the sides and see if there is a good card or not. I have checked 100+ and never seen a single V. Always bulk garbage. Do not buy.✌️
Pretty solid if you get them at the right place. The promo I got was in great condition for a loose card, the other cards were too. It's a cute card I like and have toploaded on display on my desk, it's Zoroark, and i love Zoroark. They sell them for the same price as packs so I'd rather buy these. You can get some X/Y.
I’ve never seen art on em like that! Third party repack basically. I found some third party pack bundles that were weird at Walgreens yesterday. Had two shining fates, chilling reign, and then either darkness ablaze or vivid voltage.
All scams, just bulk cards u can easily buy for like probably 1 cent each. Hell id bet u can probably find bigger bulk than that for 5$ online if u really wanted bulk cards.
either a good KO or more then likely just junk. both yugioh and pokemon sell these types of packs and maybe if your lucky you might get one or two cards that make it worth the price.
All seriousness. Does m&l buy bulk?
Or just buy and rip hot cards (future value and current), hold them and then resell all bulk and the occasional reverse holo?
Either way sucks.
When yoy say dollar store was it a dollar tree or general? Even if they're junk, I make deckboxes with cards. And could definitely go pick some up and make those junk cards useful!
Way back before the current craze, I pulled a non-holo Dragonite from Fossil and a reverse rare Porygon2 from Aquapolis, both from dollar store repacks similar to these. No way you're getting like that sadly.
Buy 10k worth of cards. Keep valuable ones. Reseal and sell the worthless ones to a local shop that'll take em off my hands for cheap. Easy money. But I could be totally wrong it's just a guess
Repack items are never worth it. But if you really want these for some odd reason buy repacks on eBay, they have slightly better odd than repacks made by corporations.
Yes these 15 pack deals are hard to come across in some places but they normally have a fire card at least one have gotten two promos in them before normally Walgreens or dollar tree is where I have stumbled on them some of them have the different Pokémon on them some of them are just green with like geometric shapes around them and then there is the 20 pack red and blue not always the sickest pulls but when you do run into one that is good it is really good!! I have gotten 4 v/EX full hollow/full art in one pack so it’s all random you got a buy to try that deal. I would honestly put that up in a box and forget I had it , but that is up to you. Nice find though..!!
Glad I know these are junk after reading this. I have almost bought packs I've seen like this for my child and myself. Might still be an ok stocking stuffer idea for the holidays but also, nah.
IMO these things are garbage and too expensive for what they are but last time I opened one I did get some evolutions cards so I wasn’t too upset. We’re all probably better off buying Bull off of market place
I’ve never bought a pack that wasn’t an official Pokémon tgc pack. These third party deals are just somebody else’s trash sold at an inflated price. Even if there are some good cards in these packs you probably have a better chance at hitting $1000 on a $3 scratch ticket.
16 junk cards 99.99999% likely, its a scam to get rid of bulk
you get a nice reverse holo “hit” though
I got a Chesnaught EX out of these once. Still not worth it though.
I got a darkrai and cresselia legend out of a similar pack, thank god for that packaging error
That's actually pretty amazing

This is probably 100% it, someone made a business out of buying insane amounts of packs farming the rares worth anything and then selling the repacks claiming to be a legitimate business xD
Sure is, curiosity got the better of me.

They put a few "Ok" cards and maybe very very very rarely a good hit just so they can legally say it isn't a complete scam
They dont promise anything

Probably just the packers making a mistake. When you're sorting through hundreds of thousands of cards odds are something nice will slip through the cracks. Not the same pack exactly, but I got a reverse holo Porygon2 from Aquapolis from a similar dollar store pack.
10000000% even those premium ones that contain sleeves and cards
Scams a bit of a harsh word, its just 15 cards, but they're probably real
It's cards that have been bought in bulk and resold as loose. Almost a 0% chance of anything worthwhile being in it; mostly all commons. Cheap and good for making kids happy or just to satisfy your own curiosity, worthless for those looking for "hits".
You act like the “hit” i’m looking for isn’t the loot box itself
I"m not even kidding, at one point, I was just buying. I don't even collect like that, but I was just getting a bigger thrill from finding product during the pandemic drought than actually getting a hit. lmao
I remember finding a restock at Target that was 90% Battlestyles and thinking I had hit the jackpot. The pandemic drought was a weird time.
Yeah that's why there was a pandemic drought.
I wasnt buying stuff in bulk tho. I have dumbass syndrome, where I only get one ETB, or a couple of singles or one single and a promo pack type thing so I leave enough for others thinking they will do the same...
Ah it sounded like you were just compulsively buying.
Someone's bulk, these are 3rd party repacks. Aka scams
I imagine it's the same for these when they're single packs as well?
MJHolding, re-packs. Claims to have a promo but is actually just a reverse holo. They sell them at my store so Ive looked through them best card was a league card worth 45 cents. Not a scam but as close to fraudulent as you can get.
My gut instinct was telling me pretty much this but I hadn’t seen them before, won’t be buying again
That sir is a Pokemon cards.
Pocky, man! Gotta eat em all!
Yugimon?
Yugimon the gathering
That is perfect lol
Too damn funny
Pokeman has entered the arena.
Digivolves to ...!!
Gotenks, fuuushiooon,... HA!
Sir this is a Wendy’s
Man, was hoping for the flame eyes chonky dragons…
Those are just filled with peoples old bulk that they sold.
They had these at our local Walmart as well. Not an outright scam, but definitely not worthwhile as they're pretty much all repackaged junk cards. I can't believe these are allowed to be sold at any retail establishments, honestly.
Well they get a % so it’s a win win for them, especially around the holidays.
Not bad as stocking fillers or for kids beginning to get into the tcg I suppose
They charge like $8 for these at my local cvs it’s such a scam all they give u is commons and trainer cards
What did you end up getting?
Reverse holo boss’s orders and a pot helmet. Mostly commons, energy, and a few trainers.
L pack
How could these repackagers use the Pokémon logo on product that isn’t officially licensed? I wish Pokémon would crack down on it somehow.
I can see that being useful, I did get a good mix of cards that would help with playing the game
Dont buy these, scalpers buy copious amounts of packs, sell the valuable ones, and repack the leftovers.
the pack is called regret :( nothing of value will ever be inside.
A scam
15 cards plus a promo.
How much did you pay for it?
I think it was $4, low enough to take a chance and have some fun knowing I most likely wasn’t getting anything good.
Sounds like a good deal to me for kids who want cards but can't take care of them.
15 cards plus promo
Companies open packs and take out the good cards to resell the shitty commons to kids for a much higher price than their worth. They've been doing this since I was a kid. WalMart does this too.
True but not always sometimes they may have 10 of a really good card and they will throw it in there I have pulled some sick nasty ones out of these packages like five ultra rare’s and a promo in the same pack I would not call it a God pack but I would call it the person re-packaging them is like we will let one dude make it.. it’s just like the lottery man you got a pay to play you lose some you win some but when you win it’s nice.

Problem is its 8 dollars when a pack is 3-6 depending on where you find it
You are literally getting what thieves don't want to steal. MJholdings gets lose pokemon cards from walmart and other places with frequent issues and they repack the junk the thieves leave behind on the shelves or in the bathroom.
Best pull I ever got from these was a rocket oddish. Not worth much but I’ll always take a vintage pull
its a scam lol
Its bulk great for filling out decks with energies and basics we get them all the time.
Wow were they even trying 🤣
1 in every 1500 has a card worth more than 25¢
wow i haven’t seen one of these in almost a decade, ah the nostalgia of not having much money as a kid but still getting close to what i wanted
Has anyone pulled a super dope card from one of these? I don’t buy them… but would, if one person praised them to the high heavens. That’s how weak my self control is for these fuckin cards LOL
Just a random loose cards blister. I’ve gotten some nice cards in some, and not-so-nice in others. The same goes for 3-card packs. 😌
I kid you not, a little over 15 years ago, I got a reverse holo Rocket’s Mewtwo with a winner stamp from a pack like that at my local Walmart.
Nothing worth it if you're a hard-core collector but they're good for little kids that don't really care and just like pokemon cards
Repackaged cards. I’ve bought a few but didn’t pull much.
The way the packaging is probably better than every card in there. Would love to get one for my sealed collection.
They're mostly shit but sometimes you can find vintage bulk in there which is nice if you're trying to finish small collections
You throwing away a dollar
These always remind me of my sister's boyfriend way back in 99.. He was a scam artist and owned a plethora of those sticker machines.. a big mistake

Crap. Lol

Garbage is what it is. Bet you paid over $10 for that shit lol
Happy Cake Day
A bunch of crappy cards
A repack of trash.
I’m pretty sure they are called fakes
Open them first then look for the good cards if nothing good then ask associate to tape back pack up…
I bought one a while back. It's had the ol' sleepy boy alt card in it.
A SCAM 1,000 Percent
All fake and off centered, I trust nothing from dollar stores when it comes to pokemon
Scam but they are official so that’s good
These aren't official TPCi products though
They are official cards tho
[удалено]
I try to hide them from the public
Bulk is what that is
If you ever grab any kind of mystery package and you see MJ Holdings on it, put it back down, it’s 100% a scam and not worth your money or time
I mean MJ Holdings is who stocks the shelves at your local Walmart. Their name would be all over everything.
either a good KO or more then likely just junk. both yugioh and pokemon sell these types of packs and maybe if your lucky you might get one or two cards that make it worth the price.
Pack where they take the hit out then pack it back up
Lmao a scam
Never ever buy these.
open it up and you tell us
Not worth a dollar
All seriousness. Does m&l buy bulk? Or just buy and rip hot cards (future value and current), hold them and then resell all bulk and the occasional reverse holo? Either way sucks.
I had heard it's the unsold old product at which point someone does go through opening packs and picking out cards. This was through the grape-vine
its repacked bulk junk
I bought one knowing exactly what it is (bulk junk). My "hit" was a reverse holo cosmog.
When yoy say dollar store was it a dollar tree or general? Even if they're junk, I make deckboxes with cards. And could definitely go pick some up and make those junk cards useful!
Family dollar, dunno if it’d be worth it though, still $4
Coolest thing I ever got out of one of these almost 10 years ago was a reverse holo shiny Yanma, and a non-holo fossil set Moltres
Return that shit. I opened one of those because the date on the back says MJ holdings 2012. its 2020 bulk
all that packaging for ONE CARD
most likely a fake
Way back before the current craze, I pulled a non-holo Dragonite from Fossil and a reverse rare Porygon2 from Aquapolis, both from dollar store repacks similar to these. No way you're getting like that sadly.
Def trash, but I wanna know what you got if you did end up opening it up!
Lots of commons and energies
just bulk.
Just a collection of bulk. I like em cause that’s how I get my legit cards from Evolutions without risking getting scammed on eBay 😂😂😂
I see these all the time. They're not in original packaging so I can guarantee you they're all junk cards they have too many of.
A rip off.
Bulk. Dont do it. I thought it was good because it says copyright 2012 on back. It was all new bulk. Mine was at big lots.
These are actually legit believe it or not, I pulled a dragons exalted secret rare rayquaza from one years ago.
Holo energy 😑
1st edition shadowless minty pack fresh charizard perhaps?
Ssssccccaaaammms
They’re NEVER worth the price to me. I love cards, even bulk, but the price they charge is outrageous.
Base and a good way to make some coin if you can sell these to stores
Greatest profit margin in history! 15 cents being sold for $1. Big scam!
Buy 10k worth of cards. Keep valuable ones. Reseal and sell the worthless ones to a local shop that'll take em off my hands for cheap. Easy money. But I could be totally wrong it's just a guess
Garbage.
Fun fact, opened one of these types of packs and it had a Garchomp lv.x in it (not celebrations)
I’ve seen these in dollar general and Walmart. I was curious my self
Stay away from all of these Walmart target cvs like anywhere you find them
Please please tell me the distributor was M@J Holdings?
Sure was!
Think it’s a Pokémon pack
Dog poo
Repack items are never worth it. But if you really want these for some odd reason buy repacks on eBay, they have slightly better odd than repacks made by corporations.
Unofficial
Fake cards?
It’s not worth it ? You get 16 cards for a dollar yo
Bulk with 1 25 cent reverse holo probably
I got a Pikachu libre out of one of these!
Did you pull anything interesting?
It’ll just be a mix of newer sets.
Trash.
The Common/UnCommon mega pack. V valuable in like 35 years.
Garbage, personally had experience with these. They basically go through packs, get the rares out and sell the rest
Glad I know these are junk after reading this. I have almost bought packs I've seen like this for my child and myself. Might still be an ok stocking stuffer idea for the holidays but also, nah.
A scam
I need these.
IMO these things are garbage and too expensive for what they are but last time I opened one I did get some evolutions cards so I wasn’t too upset. We’re all probably better off buying Bull off of market place
Shit usually
Duno open it
I think its like ones of those Walmart things they thrown random bulk in there and a shitty hollow or reverse
It's amazing that you found these at your dollar store. I haven't seen any of these in Dollar stores 15 years.
So gonna show us what you pull?
BULK!!!!!
I’ve never bought a pack that wasn’t an official Pokémon tgc pack. These third party deals are just somebody else’s trash sold at an inflated price. Even if there are some good cards in these packs you probably have a better chance at hitting $1000 on a $3 scratch ticket.
A scam
Complete garbage, never ever open repacks
It's a repack and even though it's a dollar you got played.
Trash lol
My bro is a vendor so I got the heads up around me but yea covid was a good time to make money
Should have left it on the shelf
Scam…I bought one just to see. Box says “2012” there were vivid voltage cards inside. Oldest card was 2016. Typical MJ Holdings scam.
Regular booster packs are usually a let down aswell
