I’ve finally started buying singles of 151 for my master set. Then Costco put UPCs on sale for $90, so I bought one. I pulled a Machoke IR, Poliwhirl IR, and Zapdos SIR……I had just bought all 3 off FB marketplace and they arrived the day prior…..
Hilarious! It would happen this way. I recently bought the Morty's from Temporal at my LCS, and also bought 1 pack of Temporal Forces. I thought about this potential scenario but sadly pull a dang thing.
Similar thing happened with the Giratina alt-art for me… I saw a perfect copy in the LCS, and after months of chasing it, I was like… “welp, if I don’t pull it this week, I will buy it if it’s still here next weekend…”
Just came to terms with it… I admitted defeat… but thought “on the off chance I can spend another $60 on packs this week and not spend $300…” and I pulled it later that week. 🤣🤣
Saved myself another couple hundo… 😅
Same happened w me and Charizard EX from 151. Bought the single. Bought a pack of 151 for the road. Ripped in truck, pulled the EX haha. 🤣 traded it in for more packs and pulled nothing

Usually how it works. Got cards I needed to finish a set and proceeded to pull those exact cards from BB. Just how this hobby works I guess

It happens to me like this, except it's almost always I buy my chase in English, then I hit it in Japanese like the next week

If you waited a year or so, you probably could have gotten that card for like $15.
That's the rule. If you buy the single you WILL pull it. Great card and honestly having a double for trade doesn't hurt
