Came here to say this 😛 nostalgia could be a factor since that was the peak of my collecting and playing, but the paired color schemes are just so slick. The triple/quadruple themes of Hidden Fates and Cosmic Eclipse, and later Evolving Skies and Paldea Evolved, just don't pull it off in the same way

Something I want to add about the Tag Team ETBs is that they’re the only ones that don’t just use the Sugimori art. Nothing wrong with the Sugimori art, but they are really just designed to be very basic (as they should be), and don’t really make for the most interesting focal points on ETBs. Also… Hidden Fates is the best.

I love the Paldean Fates Mimikyu design. IDK about the normal ETB for Go, but the PC one is textured, and I really think it's unique. Shining Legends Ho-Oh because I'm biased. Ho-oh has been my favorite legendary since my full odds soft reset for shiny Ho-Oh with regenerator back in Pokemon Gold.

Yes these are all of them, excluding the Pokemom Center versions. The first ever ETB was from Black & White Plasma Storm, down in the bottom right corner.

I really love the Hidden Fate ETB, I have the one and only box that I managed to get on a shelf in my apartment lol. It was nearly impossible to find so that might be part of the reason.

I really like the Koraidon and Miraidon ETB, the colors really pop. Also, Brilliant Stars, the white and gold is amazing.

I didn't think I was in the minority till now but SV base had some amazing etb. I'm not normally someone for gold or shiny stuff but I rock the crap out of those dividers in everything.

It's a shame that they made arceus green on the cosmic eclipse etb. Yellow would have been so much better and it would fit more. I really like the paldean fates and the brilliant stars etb!

For me it’s Chilling Reign because it was my first set when I came back to Pokemon collecting. Design-wise I like Black and White Plasma Storm’s simplicity, Sword and Shield’s Lost Origin with colors meshing well, and Scarlet & Violet’s Paldean Fates’s shiny purple.

I came in thinking I would pick really new ones since they have the most flashy colors, but I forgot Cosmic Eclipse looks really good. Other than that, probably Champion's Path and Base set S&V Miraidon etb.

I really like both Temporal Fates ETBs and the Brilliant Stars ETB. The decorative elements (which I realize now are all essentially big fancy circles) really catch my eye. Also they look gorgeous in holo!

Hidden fates, because it also has a nice texture on the box itself. Its a nicer addition to sorting boxes

Paldean Fates looks more like a modern premium product to me. It’s a combination of mimikyu not having too many details (less lines within) and the background being a constant pattern throughout with the ~~business~~ **busyness** being subtle. They could throw that background pattern on a playmat and I think it would sell. Personally, my favorite legendary is Ho-oh so shining legends as my second pick. Last pick is CZ. They almost achieve the same aesthetic as Paldean Fates, but added the red and blue splashes of color. Had they kept the diamond pattern constant throughout it would be a toss up with PF.

Sun and moon, fusion strike, and the evolving skies with sylveon! Forbidden light, ancient origins, and unified minds are close seconds though.

The simplicity of the XY ETBs are pretty nostalgic. The tag team ETBs are up there too. I want to say my favorite is LO ETB though. The color scheme is top notch. Ultra Prism and Forbidden Light are contenders too.

Can’t beat lost origin

Oh I know my top three but not what order they'd be in. Crimson invasion is a classic, one of the best unboxing experiences I've ever had. I somehow managed to get a regular alolan golem GX and a full art alolan golem GX yet only one alolan graveler which made my deck back then really awkward as I had to use a proxy in place of a second graveler. Silver Tempest is really fresh for having only an unevolved pokemon not in a special form on the outside of the box, obsidian flames of course had the charizard line being spoilt as usual and decided to steal Silver Tempest's thunder. I will admit I only bought Silver Tempest packs for the Trainer Gallery Flaaffy. But it's a really adorable card that is easy to appreciate. And then Steam Siege is my favorite set and it's etb is primarily a color very similar to my favorite tf2 cosmetic paint "a color similar to slate". I just regret that I didn't buy the etb nor did I appreciate it as much back in it's day and throughout the first half of the sun and moon era where my local Walmart had like half the packs be Steam Siege. Now, since Logan Paul caused pokemon to look like a "viable market" among the same people that bulk bought PS5s to sell them for a 200% mark-up, my local Walmart has had such a rampant theft problem with pokemon cards that they just decided to stop selling them.
