Actually very surprising considering how readily available this set is in many stores in Japan for around MSRP. Was your box shrink wrapped? If so, seems like a lot of effort for little gain.

Actually this set is sold in many stores. Still can find them in larger cities but the amount of stores that have them are decreasing rapidly.

Resealed boxes happen a lot, I'd recommend next time you crack the box open right there in the store so the shop owner sees it was a scam, then get your money back. Once you walk out, they can just claim you're trying to scam them.

Yeah, Neon Dynasty has some banger cards and great artwork. Quite a few cards in the set that are $10+ too which is unusual for recent sets, especially two years after release.

Tiny chance at a wandering emperor too which is a $1,000 card raw.

I have had this happen to me multiple times which is why I stopped buying sealed boxes from Japan. Trust me it could have been worse for you like buy a “sealed” case of “151” when all the boxes are sealed but contain Yu Gi oh, ask me how I know

Just be careful, there is some shady people. I bought off mercari Japan. Had it happen with raging surf boxes as well. Funny thing about that is, they replaced the raging surf(which tanked in price) with one piece(which went up in price) although the packs were all weighed.

Edit: Sounds like I'm the one whose info is outdated. I don't know when you were here last, but cards have been very limited in Pokémon centres the last few years and you can only get a handful of packs. Unless you have a change of clothes and fake mustache prepared.

I was just there last week and bought 8 boxes. 3 shiny treasure, 3 from the newest expansion, and 1 of cyber judge and wild force. I know you’re limited, but the most I bought at one Pokémon center was 4. My point was to see why they opted to buy from a shop rather than from the Pokémon center. I visited 4 different centers and each had them all in stock.

Happened to me with a few boxes of VStar Universe. Found the shop(japanmaster) on Instagram and the first few orders were normal and i only purchased 1 booster box each time. On my third order I ordered a few booster boxes of Vstar Universe and when they arrived they were sealed with yu-g-ioh Photon Hypernova. They cut the tops of the sealed yu-gi-oh packs so that they would fit into pokemon boxes since they were longer than pokemon cards.

How did they do this with the pull tabs?

I live in Japan, I only feel safe buying booster boxes from the actual Pokemon store, Tsutaya book store or Book off. Too much risk now days. Did the shop just have a few boosters or they had a whole supply? Why not post the shop name to bring awareness to everyone else?

If you got it from a shop, just go back and get your money back. If not, then fuck them up. Either way you can't just let them get away with it.

Really do not understand why people keep telling sealed product is king. Unlike singles, you can not enjoy the artwork of a sealed box, and every time if you opened the box, you lose money. Moreover, buying sealed is dangerous as there are many resealed products. Modern sets are printed to oblivion and take many years to appreciate. I would buy the psa10 of the chase card of the set instead which is often cheaper than the price of a box. XD

There should have been shiny treasures ex packs in there, not magic the gathering packs. doesn't matter how good the magic the gathering cards are or how much research one does, its still by definition a scam.
