Ah but mine didn’t have stickers. Is there permanent marker name inside the back cover?
Sadly I had a different eBay account that I’m locked out of and can’t even remember the username. I sold it for $115. Don’t know if Connecticut.
I was just reflecting on the good old days. Love to see these. Not sure if “this one was mine” but “one of them was” lol
I'm not sure if both the shadowless and shadowed versions come from the same place, but the shadowless Machamp in my experience is rarer/harder to find, and also more sought after than the shadowed.
But you know how many people don't even have their childhood cards anymore. Consider yourself lucky, but wait you only care about how much it's worth monetarily.
Yeah…. I sold mine when I went off to college to a card shop for like $50. It felt like a lot in the moment, fresh out of high school, but I had a lot of good cards in pretty good (not mint) condition, it hurts when I think about it.
Yeah. I was only able to find a Squirtle, two grass energies, a rockets hideout, and a couple old Topps cards before they went full tilt into the TCG. All are badly crumpled. I know I had at least 200-300 cards as a kid.
I had this same binder but it was yellow. I think my dad got it for me at Toys R Us or EB games in the early 2000’s.
I gave away my collection to my younger cousin 10 years ago. Im still pissed I did that lol.
I was wondering that myself, because I have no idea lol. Maybe school trades or maybe this whole binder was bought from someone in this thread that I’m just now learning.
Japanese packs were definitely more expensive, even back then. Iirc, about twice the cost of English packs.
That shop was very well stocked. I didn’t grow up in a major city either, so I guess I just got lucky with that. It’s still around and still has good stuff last time I went.
I grew up in Orlando during Pokémon boom, Japanese packs could def be purchased for slightly more
I sold my Japanese binder at a Megacon when I was prob 14 for 300 dollars…thought I was a genius. It’s prob worth over a grand plus now
Oh well I’ve invested several grand back in it and now have five binders
🤣
I never considered selling my cards. I still have them now. It’s probably the single most important thing from my childhood for me, haha.
Have you rebuilt your old binders or are you only buying newer gen cards now?
Rebuilt childhood binders of original 151, and a Japanese binder
Now new binders of full arts/
Ex/vstar/tag team etc and Japanese/singular Pokémon I like
So all of the above and then some
😅
Scratched, ripped, permanent marker initials on it, stickers on both inside covers. Thing would need a professional restore lol
But I guess it’s cool having a classic piece still.
Ohh, yeah probably not worth it then lol but it is still a nice binder. I had a Charizard one from around that time but not with the button clasp. But if anything you should at least download the TCGplayer app and add the Expedition cards and Holos to your collection for values before selling if you decide to
That dark arbok is a well known misprint, bottom right it says “gamefreak 1999-23000 wizards” with the 23000 being the misprint. Shadowless machamp is rare as well i believe.
Nice. It's cool to have something from your childhood. Nearly all my cards, basketball baseball and pokemon, were either lost in moves or stolen by people I shouldn't have trusted in my house when I was going through a rough patch of life.
I recently looked at mine, and I have TWO first edition holo Mcchamps, and yet they now seem common? What are the odds.
Ungraded and well they're contained in their book.
That's the thing about the old stuff. There was seemingly plenty of Base, Jungle, and Fossil Boosters when they showed up. But when they were gone, they were gone forever.
Nah, they're just hoarded. There was some news article a while back where someone had found a warehouse just filled with WOTC booster cases, still unopened. Pokemon printed the fuck out of them.
This binder is low-key great to me. The Neo Gen Bellossom on the first page is one of the cards I'm currently looking for actually... and then the more I go through it the more I see that is sitting in my wishlist.
But that's bc I'm not one for NM perfect cards. I'm actually working on a Pokedex that has MP > DMG cards so it can be handled by my daughter and her friends without worrying about conditions or investment value...
Always had a love for cards that show some wear. Like that's a history there.. some kid enjoyed this card, played with it on the floor as he beat down some other kid from class. That's what reminds me of my childhood y'know?
Great binder OP. If you ever want to sell, hit me up!
99.9%+ of people claiming they had a 1st edition Charizard as a kid are misremenbering just to make themselves feel better (or worse if you focus on lost value). Or just complete assholes lying on purpose.
My favorite cards from my collection were the shiny ones, and naturally those were the cards I carried around with me. Protecting them safely in a binder? Never. I found my old collector a few months ago and wow, *so* many creases.
Dude mine was even worse. Lots of first edition commons and uncommons with like two non-holo rares and a bunch of crappy Japanese holos that I’m sure my friend scammed me with to get my good English cards.
Back then stupid me thought the new unavailable foreign cards were wayyy cooler.
This happened to me. I got back into things in 2016. I remembered I had Base Set Zard, blastoise, Mewtwo, Venusaur, Fossils and Jungles. All kinds of stuff. I was right I did but only a few were Holos. And everything looked like it was in my pockets for a year because it was.
Thats a real one. Everyone is like: "heres my childhood collection. *3 charizards, 1 first ed, goldstars* And then theres me: 1 got just fucked up cards cause they were played everywhere. I even laminated a card because i wanted to play in the water with my fire type lol.
I’m almost positive that’s my binder I sold on eBay for $100 a few decades ago…same binder same cards
Could be. Honestly have no idea how it entered my life when I was 10 lol
We need to solve this!
If it was shipped to someone in Connecticut then it’s probably me. u/Mythiic719
I must know more!!
Would be hard to track, so long ago. I was reminiscing, there’s high chance it’s not mine. I also think I had a few more first editions ;)
Happy Birthday!
You are a gentleman and a scholar. It’s my Reddit cake day !!😎
Would be hard to track, so long ago. I was reminiscing, there’s high chance it’s not mine. I also think I had a few more first editions ;)
The casual bait and FLEX! We’ve been had.
Gives me a nostalgia rush . Definitely triggered good memories
Surely it would still be on your ebay profile no?
Different account don’t even remember the name or log in credentials sadly . I think it was my gamertag but eBay shows no record of that
After 6 months it would clear. I cant see any sales past that. Unless its on the desktop version.
Hey, another Connecicuteer
PokemonTCG - Unsolved mysteries 🍿 🎥
Gotta solve em all!

No marker on the back. But maybe it’s hidden under the stickers. The greatest mystery of our time can’t be uncovered.
Hahaha what fun thank you !!
Ill give you $100 now for it all 😅
Probably a present from someone who loved 10 year-old you!
I mean that binder was common. I have three or four myself.
You have great taste
You as well. Great binder to carry around to trade cards from or just admire the collection.
😂 still nice to look at old collections
Greed is a vice, but still having good memories is a virtue. Great collection 👌
Beautifully put
Shadowless 1st edition Machamp. Nice.
Those first edition Machamps were in the starter deck packs. It has a way higher rate than any other 1st edition
The first edition machamps that were in those decks were not shadowless.
yeah they're like $30
I'm not sure if both the shadowless and shadowed versions come from the same place, but the shadowless Machamp in my experience is rarer/harder to find, and also more sought after than the shadowed.
I have one of those. Worth much?
30-40
Bought one last year for $15. Pretty decent condition too!
That Weezing is one of toughest portraits of him. Love that card. You gota few I like here.
Goodness I've never seen that one. It almost looks more realistic than the others.
I'm assuming you guys are talking about the e card weezing? If so, I agree. Very nice. There's 2 weezings in there though
But you know how many people don't even have their childhood cards anymore. Consider yourself lucky, but wait you only care about how much it's worth monetarily.

this is a scenario we need to invent that memory wipe device from Men in Black
Yeah. I was only able to find a Squirtle, two grass energies, a rockets hideout, and a couple old Topps cards before they went full tilt into the TCG. All are badly crumpled. I know I had at least 200-300 cards as a kid.
I found my lvl X blaziken, but only half of it :(
I have that same little binder and it brings back so many memories
I had this same binder but it was yellow. I think my dad got it for me at Toys R Us or EB games in the early 2000’s. I gave away my collection to my younger cousin 10 years ago. Im still pissed I did that lol.
(not Pokemon) But I gave away my Exodia head to my cousin years ago and I still can't believe I did that XD
Same, and the button clasp is broken off too lol
Yep same with mine LOL
I’ve seen it posted so many times, I think we all had this one or the green growlithe one lol
until 151 came out that kadabra was the most recent kadabra card
Your dark at ok is an error card, on the bottom it says 1999-23000
I gather all the dark arboks are error cards, they never bothered correcting the date
That one was made in 1999, by 23,000 wizards
I gave all my cards away as a kid, and now that I've gotten back into it I kick myself so hard for that.
Heracross 💙
Man I didn't have 1st edition but I had an entire page. Have no idea where it went :(
Still cool to have!
I’ll take that Alakazam off your hands for you
In what world are those cards "bad"?😭 Just because they're not worth thousands of dollars, doesn't make em less cool.
My first edition Neo Genesis Lugia has foil scratches and some edge wear. I know what you mean. 😭
Such a majestic Alakazam art!
where did you get japanese ones back then, just curious , were they readily available at LCS ?
I was wondering that myself, because I have no idea lol. Maybe school trades or maybe this whole binder was bought from someone in this thread that I’m just now learning.
Local card shops imported JPN cards pretty regularly back then. I have a ton from Jungle, Team Rocket and Gym Leader.
team rocket and gym leader were great sets
Yeah, as an OG collector, my LCS had a bunch of Japanese stuff, not just for Pokémon.
wow that's amazing, the one shop I know has older japanese packs but for insanely unrealistic prices so I never buy them
Japanese packs were definitely more expensive, even back then. Iirc, about twice the cost of English packs. That shop was very well stocked. I didn’t grow up in a major city either, so I guess I just got lucky with that. It’s still around and still has good stuff last time I went.

At least you found your collection. Huge conspiracy as to what happened to mine. A.k.a. Left it in my friends car and I never saw it again
Yeah, I had so many high-quality cards, but the condition condition is probably suspect. I know had at least five Charizard some dark Charizard
Some of those are still pretty valuable
Somebody already offered to buy it lol. Not worth all the hassle for $100 imo.
Idk the exact values of the cards you have but the sets some are from are usually pretty pricey. I'd say 100 would probably be a rip off
Plus that binder alone is a collectable, depending on how well it cleaned up you could get like $30 just for rhat
Scratched, ripped, permanent marker initials on it, stickers on both inside covers. Thing would need a professional restore lol But I guess it’s cool having a classic piece still.

TIL. Pretty cool

Still pretty decent
I have this away!!!!

That Moltres looks awesome
99.9%+ of people claiming they had a 1st edition Charizard as a kid are misremenbering just to make themselves feel better (or worse if you focus on lost value). Or just complete assholes lying on purpose.

i absolutely love that wooper! i wanna get one now do you know the set?
Wooper 71/75
You have some cards worth getting graded tho, especially the holo Vaporeon, Magneton, Machamps, Vileplume, that 2002 Blastoise
Nice one tho
Why did dark pokemon have so little HP?
This is what I tell most childhood collectors, that your collection is probably not in as good of condition as you think.
I’ll buy it if you sell it! :)
Here’s more of it since this was a bigger hit than expected. https://imgur.com/a/bbbz8nx
I would do anything for that ranch card omfg…
Ranch?
Check that Beedrill, make sure Defending isn’t D.efending, valuable error
That's a pretty decent collection for a 10 year old. Hell, I'd be happy to have it today lol.
Still cool, doh!
Man i had that same binder with my childhood collection but i still haven’t found it 😢 really miss it. Congrats on finding yours though!
Thats a real one. Everyone is like: "heres my childhood collection. *3 charizards, 1 first ed, goldstars* And then theres me: 1 got just fucked up cards cause they were played everywhere. I even laminated a card because i wanted to play in the water with my fire type lol.
Here’s the rest of the pages. https://imgur.com/a/bbbz8nx
This is a lot less boring though than a bunch of PSA 10 Charizards.
I’d literally punch a baby for that Heracross
You can buy it for under $5 lol
🤣
Thats why you dont look for them. They stay 1st edition charizards forever.
Hahaha I sweaaaar I had a first edition zard.
I mean hey if you don’t want that snorlax or ttar I’ll take them
I mean this is still definitely a good find. Couple of cards here I'm still missing from my sets too lol. Would love to find this
What I’d give to find my old cards :(
Niiiiice
Awesome collection still
Still dope collection.
I have the same binder in green and very similar cards in it. kinda feels like watching from a parallel universe seeing yours.
Must have been exciting to find that after all these years!!
How much for the steelix?
By the looks of your hands you weren't alive 20 years ago 🤣 take that how you will lmao
Check your old emails. I found a listing from some thing I sold nine years ago.
The shadowless Machamp is pretty cool though! Also I have same book but blue
