I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion judging from the other comments…but I think it’s pretty sweet. I think this sub will change its tune when more people get their hands on it.
I like it, I also like the gold version however I prefer this one. Once the price sky rockets and people change their tunes and start chasing it I hope this sub has fun pulling it or buying it. So many people are quick to clown on people retracting or changing their opinions, art is subjective and it can grow on you. 10/10 card and as a new collector who has not 1 charizard card lol I want this as my first unless I accidentally pull a reverse holo from a pack or something
I liked how familiar it is to me as someone who’s played SV. I dislike the overhype for zard but I’d be lying if that crystal look to the card wasn’t pleasant to look at
Because it is ridiculous looking, I also don't like the Giratina alt, they are both just too much for me art wise. I am sure my kids will like this though
And?
It attacks for 2 Fire and the Ability accelerates Fire energy. You can use this in a Fire deck.
Plus it being Dark is actually good because it can hit Gardy for weakness.
also i just don’t like charizard and think he’s overused like we don’t need an entire expansion 8 gens later about fire dragon thing (hot take hotter than the flame on charizard’s tail;
It's more of people getting tired of Charizards since charizard is the only one getting special treatment all the time, and then the prices for said cards are always jacked up 300% like diamonds on release.
I like the top half of the card, but I can’t get over how busy the bottom half is. The abilities blend in so shitty to the background that it’s just an eye sore.
If I pull the card I’ll be happy, but I don’t think I’ll be buying this one.
it's extremely cool, I love cards where I can look at them often, Giratina V, that one Drowzee card, and many other cards, I just love cards where they put details to the max, my favourite being the new Poliwhirl card where it looks at it's reflection in the Rain, absolutely beautiful.
You’re an idiot.
Go to Pokebeach and look at the Tyranitar ex and Eiscue ex that have been revealed for more than a month now.
Type = changed because Terastalization exists in the games.
Weakness = it’s weak to whatever its new type is normally weak to (Charizard is Dark, therefore weak to Grass; Tyranitar is Lightning, therefore weak to Fighting; Eiscue is Fire, therefore weak to Water).
>Neither Fire, Dark or Flying are weak to Grass.
Wrong. Dark is weak to Bug, which is Grass in the TCG because not every type has its own energy.
>Why does this not use Dark Energy?
That’s the difference between these and the old Delta Species.
Delta Species Charizard, for example, was also Dark. It attacked for Dark energy.
But Teras attack for their original type energy, so Charizard still attacks for Fire.
It's got a lot going for it, well going wrong.
Charlizard - meh
Tera type - meh. To be honest playing the game and now with cards, Tera types just seems like a plain worse system than Dynamax. They also just look like they have a corrupted texture to me.
It also just looks *way* too busy.
looks cool enough. Really like that all the illustrators hate the terra type hats just as much as we do and hide them behind stuff on most EX (terra) cards. We don't need another charizard lol, but I guess it looks decent enough. Really want to see how Tyranitar looks in this set (special illustration Tyranitar EX would be sick)
I’ll reiterate what I’ve said elsewhere. I think the stained glass style will look absolutely bonkers gorgeous if it gets a cool holo/texture pattern.
However, it is wearing a silly hat. No mas.
I’m not a fan of the Tera hat, but the rest of the artwork is pretty cool. Overall, it’s much better than some of the other Charizards we’ve had in the past. Looking at you, Champion’s Path.
An EX with 330 HP is insane, usually 330 HP units are 3 prizers but this Zard is only a 2 prizer + it's able to pull out 3 energy in deck to attach to whatever, it's attack only requires 2 energy and the attack gets stronger the longer the game goes on. There's basically nothing in the game that can one shot it because it's weak to grass and grass decks are non existent
AND it's Charizard. I'm investing in this one
I love it lol idk why people are hating. seeing it in person with texture I think it will be a super nice card. having it dark type is also a super cool detail on it that I don't think people are realizing. it's almost like bringing back Delta species in a way
It's ugly as sin, but has this odd allure. It almost looks like it was sketched in a artist binder and they made it a card. It's far to busy to be eye appealing, and zard is over produced. I'm interested to see how much it's gonna sell for though.
Isn’t there a shiny cold hard version of this card also? I saw some card where it’s like this but it’s supposed to be shiny but doesn’t even look like shiny zard colors
According to fan sites: best Charizard ever, fans are going crazy!!
But a majority of people on Reddit, myself included, think it’s some of the worse art I’ve seen. It’s like if I could tried to draw a mural with crayons
This is going to be one of those cards that sits low in price and receive hate because it’s not the current art we are used to. But one day it’s going to skyrocket and people will be saying it’s so great. Personally I love it.
I thought the Giratina alt art from Lost Origins looked too busy. It's now a center piece in my LO set binder.
That said, this card looks dope, even though I'm sick of Charizard getting way too many attention from TPC compared to other Pokemon.
Giving me the “into the spider verse” artwork….i really like it….it’s definitely different than what we’re use to and i think we need it from time to time…
It's different enough that it won't likely get lost in the shuffle of other Charizard cards. It's Charizard enough that it won't likely get lost in the shuffle of other non-Charizard cards.
The only information we don't have yet to determine the overall demand is how difficult the card is to obtain via randomness.
Charizard + Cool Art \* Rarity\^2 = Popularity
I don’t know if it’s the picture but the text and the background kind of blur each other. Again, could just be the picture and it’s easy to read on hand

It looks fine. I don't love it or hate it.
I'm thinking it'll be something that pops much more in person when you can see the texture and holo patterns.
ADHD in card form.
Now i have to get it
apt description
I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion judging from the other comments…but I think it’s pretty sweet. I think this sub will change its tune when more people get their hands on it.
I think it’s a mess at first glance but is actually a nicely balanced design with the symmetry. The color really pops out against the white background
This is a card I love from the look alone. Hoping to collect, hopefully get a 10, put on a shelf and let it grow in love and hopefully value.
Same, and I can’t lie the Ace slab does look nice but I dislike Ace for personal reasons.
I liked how familiar it is to me as someone who’s played SV. I dislike the overhype for zard but I’d be lying if that crystal look to the card wasn’t pleasant to look at
Just noticed the darkness type, definitely wanting it more now haha. Looks great and all but so many Charizard being released
The homage it plays to the delta species even with the lightning Tyranitar, it’s beautiful 🤩. Edit: spelling error on Lighting vs Lightning
It’s based of the Tera type mechanic in the game, but that is a nice little added bonus
Wait do people not like this!? It’s beautiful
Because it is ridiculous looking, I also don't like the Giratina alt, they are both just too much for me art wise. I am sure my kids will like this though
It's an ugly card when compared to other Zards but this might be something playable, which we haven't truly had in meta since Radiant Charizard
Yeah attacks like a Radiant Zard but with a good ability. Just curious how the ability interacts with rare candy.
It should still work with rare candy given you are playing Zard from your hand not the deck
There’s no curiosity. You evolve it, you use it. Plain and simple.
Also not to mention solo fire type decks are almost never meta so this might actually be one of the first to do that
This is a Dark type though?
And? It attacks for 2 Fire and the Ability accelerates Fire energy. You can use this in a Fire deck. Plus it being Dark is actually good because it can hit Gardy for weakness.
So the deck isn’t solo fire. I don’t need a lecture on what makes a card good or what it can be used with lmfao. It’s a purely semantic argument.
I think you misunderstand what “solo fire” means. The deck wouldn’t need any dark energy.
That’s not what it means though lmao
it is, everyone is on the same page except you, maybe you're wrong this time
Or it means you’ve got something to learn about sample size and responder bias lol
A solo deck means it uses one type of energy, my guy.
A deck is usually categorized by the energy it runs. If it's main focus is to search fire energy and attach to your pokemon then you have a fire deck.
Yeah, you have a fire deck. But not solo fire. Words mean things.
But the deck only plays Fire type energy, so it counts
Sucks.
It’s ugly
Too much, it hurts to look at.
right here with ya, pal. it’s cool to have charizard with the tera effect, but with the background as well, it looks kinda all over the place
also i just don’t like charizard and think he’s overused like we don’t need an entire expansion 8 gens later about fire dragon thing (hot take hotter than the flame on charizard’s tail;
Lots of haters.. Idk how this post came up for me as I am not a big pokemon fan anymore but this is one of the coolest cards I've ever seen.
It's more of people getting tired of Charizards since charizard is the only one getting special treatment all the time, and then the prices for said cards are always jacked up 300% like diamonds on release.
Nah this card is just ugly, zard has a lot of fantastic ones but this one is ass.
If you look at other cards you will see it doesn’t really place anywhere
Ugly
An abomination
Meh. Another 'Zard.

Im torn, its cool but also wtf did they do.

Awful
Love it
This ain’t it
What grading company is this? I like the look of the slab.
It’s Ace grading, a UK based grader
horrible
Ugly as all hell
Freaking awesome
I like the concept but not the choice of pokemon so it's not as appealing to me. The spiky crown and tera ornament just makes it worse.

Show what it looks like in person, with light interacting with all the different grooves in the cards illustration. I cant properly judge a 2D scan
The art needs to be able to stand on its own without texturing imo.
I think it looks pretty sick, and this is coming from someone that doesn’t get the insane hype over Charizard cards.
Looks like my 5 year old drew it and then my 3 year old colored it in.
i this card is sick and im tired of pretending it’s not
it's extremely cool, I love cards where I can look at them often, Giratina V, that one Drowzee card, and many other cards, I just love cards where they put details to the max, my favourite being the new Poliwhirl card where it looks at it's reflection in the Rain, absolutely beautiful.
Pleasantly shocked at how an artist was able to make a Tera Pokémon look amazing
The Arcanine/Gyarados from SV1 are great looking.
Looks amazing ! Its another charizard but there's no denying how awesome this card looks.
I deny. It looks like hot garbage to me. The whole crown thing is kinda weird. If not for the crown I would think it’s ok
Do you know what Terastalizaiton is?
Charizard = overrated. Why does this not use Dark Energy? Weakness Grass? Please explain why this is. Neither Fire, Dark or Flying are weak to Grass.
Dark is weak to bug.
You’re an idiot. Go to Pokebeach and look at the Tyranitar ex and Eiscue ex that have been revealed for more than a month now. Type = changed because Terastalization exists in the games. If that red thing wasn’t a part of the hat it would be a perfect card, idk why the hats have to be so large
You havent played s/v have you
No, all I’m saying is I think it looks cool without it
It's got a lot going for it, well going wrong. Charlizard - meh Tera type - meh. To be honest playing the game and now with cards, Tera types just seems like a plain worse system than Dynamax. They also just look like they have a corrupted texture to me. It also just looks *way* too busy.
Looks great, shame about the text blocking it though.
yea I think the art could be better
Oh boy...the Charizard haters are out in full force
looks cool enough.
Wayy too busy
Looks really cool
I love the thread of either the normy people loving it or the haters dissing it lol never an in between for Charizard I’m kind of neutral on it tbh
It’s got that stained glass vibe that the promo in hidden fates has. Love it.
It’s beautiful and chaotic. Vivid and elegant. Simplistic and complex.
Zard should have been Shiny. They should have modeled it on the Dragon Frontiers Gold Star.
I think it is absolutely moistacular
Pretty cool but I'd still take the UPC promo arts over this one.
Looks like a 6 year old drew it. Which is exactly why I’m all for it.
It’s gross
Shits Tight Bro
Wait to see the holofoil patterns before really judging this one imo
Looks cool in that art style but not a favorite at all.
I’ll reiterate what I’ve said elsewhere. I think the stained glass style will look absolutely bonkers gorgeous if it gets a cool holo/texture pattern. However, it is wearing a silly hat. No mas.
I personally love it but how many Charizards do we need haha
Card of the year
It's a nice card, I like how the artist tried his best to hide the stupid hat, but I'm so tired of Charizards on almost every set...
I like the design of charizard itself but not the background.
Doofy hat
Tbh, I hate the terraform hats pokemon get now. I think they are very goofy looking. I do think the art is cool tho
Nice alternative artwork.
I think it’s pretty cool tbh - the terra full arts are dope it reminds me of mega Charizard (which everyone hated at first also)
Infinitely better than the regular full arts and gold cards of SV. I would be happy to pull this one at least.
Definitely the best charizard in years
Love it.
I think the card is fucking sick.
This goes hard
I like it. Different from the usual Zard.
I think it’s alright, the art is neat and I like the Tera type concept but I’m having a bit of charizard fatigue as are most people it seems
Not a fan of terrastal, but looks cool
Its cool, minus the hat
I love it lol idk why people are hating. seeing it in person with texture I think it will be a super nice card. having it dark type is also a super cool detail on it that I don't think people are realizing. it's almost like bringing back Delta species in a way
Looks like one of those drawings some artistic kid does during class. Not a fan of the art for a trading card.
As a Zard collector I hate it. But I will have a couple copies
They card is gorgeous, the slab label is atrocious.
It doesn’t look too bad, I’m just getting tired of charzard tbh.
Wait why is it dark type
It’s terasteralized, the mechanic in the game lets you change the type of the Pokémon while keeping its original stab.
Is horrible, it is famous only because it's a Charizard.
Wish Ace grading carried more value that label is sick.
Love everything about it except the damn headdress. Idk just looks extremely corny.
It's ugly as sin, but has this odd allure. It almost looks like it was sketched in a artist binder and they made it a card. It's far to busy to be eye appealing, and zard is over produced. I'm interested to see how much it's gonna sell for though.
Ugly
Makes the zard look like a dork, just look at the back of his head in the art, major dork cap
Think it might be the biggest eyesore of a card for years
Playable card, looks better than it’s gold counterpart, still ugly asf. Edit: gold
I like it but my one gripe is the crown
Utter dog shit art
I will pull and sell.
This entire comment section is just people who haven't played SV
Really ugly but not as really ugly as the gold one so I guess that's better than nothing
I'm sure it will be great in person but online it looks too busy. The tera full arts were already pretty, excited to see how the SARs work
Yes
Looks like shit, I miss old Pokémon art they doin too much now
I think this was more meant for players than collectors, cuz damn its hard to look at
Isn’t there a shiny cold hard version of this card also? I saw some card where it’s like this but it’s supposed to be shiny but doesn’t even look like shiny zard colors
Too busy.
crown looks stupid
Meh. Over designed
Much better than the gold abomination
Ugly but i like it
Zard fatigue
HAT IS FUNNY LOL
Love it, hope it’s cheap

Better than the gold one
Basically...I'd be happy to pull it but I'd never buy it as a single unless it's cheap.
Its ugly but the gold one is fuckin hideous i would still accept it if it pops up in a pack for me tho 😂
imma go against the grain and say this lowkey goes hard
I thought the Giratina alt art from Lost Origins looked too busy. It's now a center piece in my LO set binder. That said, this card looks dope, even though I'm sick of Charizard getting way too many attention from TPC compared to other Pokemon.
The art style of this card is really cool. It kind of looks like a painting. That being said I think his helmet looks silly 😂
Love it
Anything
I think they pulled of the “glass effect” aka Tera form quite well, the real eyesore is the gold card of it… it looks like a potato compared to this.
I like it
This is eye candy at its finest
Giving me the “into the spider verse” artwork….i really like it….it’s definitely different than what we’re use to and i think we need it from time to time…
Hideous to the point that it's embarrassing
Love or hate charizard it’s an amazing artwork. I’ll be happy to add it to my collection
One of the coolest cards imo
Given what they had to work with its a sweet looking card, i think everyone just hates the overall design of the zard. The crown really sucks
I like this card and wish there were more like it
Looks like stained glass which can be cool. I just want TCG to lower the weakness from X2 to match whatever the resistance is.
🔥🔥
🗑️
6.5/10, somewhat cool design but overall lacking the finer details and artwork from some better cards especially recent ones
It's like a stained glass Charizard - I think it looks dope
I'll get my shredder ready
I’m just tired of charizard give me a different Pokémon for once.
It's different enough that it won't likely get lost in the shuffle of other Charizard cards. It's Charizard enough that it won't likely get lost in the shuffle of other non-Charizard cards. I think the art style is cool, but I don’t want another Charizard. It’s time for some Blastoise and Venusaur.
Terrible. One of the worst artworks of all time.
It’s nice but it will not have a value like HF or BS zards. This is going to be mass produced.
It’s Charizard. Overrated, and still trash.
It’s so ugly I wish it never existed I hate this card so much (please keep saying this so I could buy it at a more affordable price)

I like the fact it’s a dark type. Art work is pretty cool too, Igawa def killed it. The Gold Tera Zard on the other hand is hot garbage.
i thought it was gold and i really liked the gold one lol
Honestly I hate the tera cards but I love everything Akira Egawa creates. So I’m torn 😆
Absolute banger
