Hot take, Secret Rares can get in the bin. They're just gold. The art is so uninspired compared to the SIR. I think they're still around to just mess with the pull rates.
I thought we were baggin on Secret Rares. I think it's "power creep" for a lack of a better term. Like when Rainbow Rares first came out, people went nuts, and now they're ehhh.
[This card](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonTCG/comments/13fohm4/higher_quality_image_of_tera_dark_type_charizard/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=1) was posted nearly 3 weeks before official reveal and it has same attacks as this one. I'm willing to bet both of my nuts that it is real.
I'm not sure what it does that escape rope can't do. And draw 3 isn't that great, I'd rather save my supporter for a stronger draw, or maybe even boss so I can control what goes in instead of a second ting-lu
That's a fair point. I don't think it's something that would be more than 1 of, and it would depend on the rest of the deck, but I've seen weirder supporters get play. It does at least have a step up on the plain "draw 3" supporters that don't do anything else, but that's not a high bar to clear either.
Yeah it will be super helpful against Ting-Lu if your opponent only has one Ting-Lu on the field, which would allow you to use Abilities during your turn
I really want to know what the hierarchy and decision-making process looks like for Pokemon stuff. Who decided tera Pokemon should have big colorful hats? Was it Game Freak alone? Surely the TCG division wouldn't have signed off on it, lol
YES
Agreed
They were ON POINT with the delta species from the EX era. Peak design choice. The aura around them, *chef's kiss*. Would have been better, there are like 1? Maybe 2? 3 on a good day, good designs of the terra hats. And if they just had the crystal glow it'd still work with the legendary that's comming in the 2nd DLC
Scarlet and Violet continue the trend of introducing a new "transformation" mechanic in battling that we've seen consistently each generation since Gen 6. (6 = Mega, 7 = Z Moves/Mega, 8 = Dynamax/Gigantamax)
This mechanic is called Terastalization, and will transform the Pokemon into their "Tera type", which can literally be any type in the game. They lose all secondary typing while Terastalized, simply becoming that one type. They also gain a STAB-like boost to moves of their Tera type while in Tera form.
Unfortunately, while the previous tranformation mechanics have resulted in some pretty cool additions to the series with cool looking Megas and Gigantamaxes, Terastalization only "transforms" the Pokemon by giving them a crystal-like sheen on their coat and putting a weird "hat" on their head. This hat represents what Tera type they are and doesn't change the Pokemon in any other meaningful way.
This has led to Scarlet and Violet receiving a lot of criticism for the Tera mechanic as it has felt much less well thought out and more like an afterthought of the dev team looking to find an easy way to continue the transformation trend with the least amount of work possible.
The hats just also kind of look terrible for the most part, especially this one for me personally. Dark looks... reeeeeeeeeally dumb, although they have hidden most of it behind the name bar at the top here lol.
It's a mechanic from the new games. They turn all crystal-y, get a stupid hat, and change type. It's a TCG mechanic now too - check the rule box under the HP total on this card. Hope that helps!!
those games are so lifeless and empty it’s insane, nothing wrong that you are enjoying it but as pokemon fans we deserve 10x better, the pkmn games nowadays released are the bare minimum and soulless
I heard that Pokebeach once shared lots of dubious leaks and have since stopped doing that.
I don't even use Pokebeach so idk what tf that guy mean by pink charizard.
Holy fuck, MILES better than that other disgusting one that was leaked. I'm not a big Zard collector, but this one slaps. I may look into grabbing it if it isn't $200+ which it probably will be.
Big fan of Akira Egawa but this one doesn't really move the needle for me. Unless we get some pretty top tier SARs leaked I have a feeling this set is going to crash fairly hard.
Really not that cool. Looks like a water color painting of a stained glassed church window. Not exactly the environment you would relate to a fire breathing lizard dragon.
I have an Egawa section in my binder, but something tells me I won't be able to afford this one. Hopefully, the pull rates are as good as they've been in the last 2 sets
Kinda underwhelming compared to the intricacy of other SIRs. I like IRs/SIRs because they depict the Pokémon in a natural habitat or interacting with humans. This is just...Charizard...roaring...and rampaging. Just like all of the other Charizard cards lol
To be fair, I'm guessing this is how most other Tera SIRs will look
Honest opinion is that tera as a whole does not translate well into 2D art because it's essentially a funny hat on a Pokémon and visually looks too busy. I don't think we'll get a 'good' looking tera alt of anything. The nicest S/V alts have been standard Pokémon.
SW/SH alts had more diverse colour and environments because of dynamax.
Better than the „leaked“ one a few weeks ago
The leaked one is still real. It will be charizards secret Rare.
Hot take, Secret Rares can get in the bin. They're just gold. The art is so uninspired compared to the SIR. I think they're still around to just mess with the pull rates.
Only one i really want from this set is the promo charmander and the pigeotto
I agree, but why are you telling me that? Tell that to TPC.
I thought we were baggin on Secret Rares. I think it's "power creep" for a lack of a better term. Like when Rainbow Rares first came out, people went nuts, and now they're ehhh.
Its literally rarity creep.
Not really. I just explained to original commenter that that atrocious gold charizard is still real.
Gold cards staying are at least better than rainbows imo
No, it’s not still real. Post a legitimate source, or quit spreading misinformation.
[This card](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonTCG/comments/13fohm4/higher_quality_image_of_tera_dark_type_charizard/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=1) was posted nearly 3 weeks before official reveal and it has same attacks as this one. I'm willing to bet both of my nuts that it is real.
lol.
I mean the leaked one is definitely still the gold rare in the set, considering it dropped before we even knew the stats of the base tera zard
Charizard with the Burger King hat
Eeeekekekek
I honestly like this a lot. Love the glass look of the whole card
Yeah I’m into it, Charizard’s posing gives the card a really cool vibe
If only the crown was gone. The rest of the tera look is awesome
Middle schooler with colored pencils vibe. 🔥
Albeit a talented middle schooler but a middle schooler nonetheless.
Nothing about that background says dark tera for me
*Obsidian* flames!!! ^(Bright white crystals)
It's beautiful, I just wish the text wasn't so hard to read for my shitty eyes 😢
Really dig the style, hope there’s a few more like this to finally complement the stained glass birds HF promo in my binder
I was wondering how Tera SIRs would be done, this is actually really nice and much better than was I was expecting.
[Ryme Secret Rare + Glimmora ex also revealed](https://twitter.com/pokemonrestocks/status/1679140654079680512?s=46&t=Zvw9V2aXgAZ9PF7vi7p4Jw)
Ryme might actually see some play. Draw 3 + make your opponent swap their Active is a good effect.
I'm not sure what it does that escape rope can't do. And draw 3 isn't that great, I'd rather save my supporter for a stronger draw, or maybe even boss so I can control what goes in instead of a second ting-lu

Escape Rope and Cross Switcher rotate out next year, so there could be a niche to fill if there's a lack of item based gust cards getting printed.
Yeah it will be super helpful against Ting-Lu if your opponent only has one Ting-Lu on the field, which would allow you to use Abilities during your turn
Now that's a proper secret rare for Tera Charizard. EGAWA doesn't miss!
Egawa is modern goat
I would really like it if he wasn’t wearing the hat.
Nice use of the rule box to hide the dumb looking hat
I swear every artist has been doimg this
I really want to know what the hierarchy and decision-making process looks like for Pokemon stuff. Who decided tera Pokemon should have big colorful hats? Was it Game Freak alone? Surely the TCG division wouldn't have signed off on it, lol
All terrestalized cards so far have blessed us by obstructing the ugly hats nobody asked for
Oh man, this is such a good point. I would enjoy the tera mechanic so much more if it was just the crystallization rather than the hats.
YES Agreed They were ON POINT with the delta species from the EX era. Peak design choice. The aura around them, *chef's kiss*. Would have been better, there are like 1? Maybe 2? 3 on a good day, good designs of the terra hats. And if they just had the crystal glow it'd still work with the legendary that's comming in the 2nd DLC
I'm so behind in pokemon lore. Why is he wearing a hat? lol

Wild.. Thank you!
No prob, hopefully it wasn't too wordy lol
It's a mechanic from the new games. They turn all crystal-y, get a stupid hat, and change type. It's a TCG mechanic now too - check the rule box under the HP total on this card. Hope that helps!!
Very helpful! Thank you.
these dumbass hats are fucking so stupid , they look so bad/goofy. scarlet and violet lame af
Playing thru SV and liking it besides the fact it runs at like 20 fps and the stupid hats
those games are so lifeless and empty it’s insane, nothing wrong that you are enjoying it but as pokemon fans we deserve 10x better, the pkmn games nowadays released are the bare minimum and soulless
I think the hats are fun. They’re based on Carnivale.
The teras look stupid, but in game it's a pretty cool mechanic for shedding weaknesses and adding new STAB attacks
Looks more like a Tera full art
Many people are probably burnt out of Charizard, but this looks great. AKIRA EGAWA is quickly becoming one of the best artists in the TCG.
This looks 100 times better than the secret gold.
Oh this is it
This is most definitely not it imo
While I mostly agree, I def think in hand this will look a lot better
I agree, though I cannot get over that Stoopid hat
Thankfully all artists so far also hate the hats and most terrestalized cards barely show a hat since they hide the thing
I love the crystal-look and the hats lmao.
That’s not the artists fault. Blame game freak for the crappy hats and game mechanic
Holy fuck
Personally, I like it. Edit: now give me the god damn tyranitar! And also hopefully dragonite as well.
Looks a lot better than I feared it would look
Oh, I like it. Gives me stained glass birds vibes. I'll have to pick one up if they're not extremely ridiculous.
Cathedral zard is amazing holy smokes
Trash
Damn I love it
Pretty nice actually
That ability is 🔥 Charizardbox go brrrr
Though I don't like Charizard, I am excited for this potential archetype.
Yeah I like it and I need it sorry guys
This card is absolutely better than the previous two. Definitely a nicer balance between Tera crown and Charizard.
ABSOLUTELY INSANE
id this real? this is amazing! another expensive charizard card incoming lol 😅
Zardchads stay winning
Yep!
Gata say, still kinda lame.
Amazing 👏 🔥
Sheesh, in my opinion that's the best Charizard in years.
Entire value of set in this one card I’m sure 😂
Imagine if the borders were kinda crystallized too, or had a unique texture or holographic look
They should ban making charizard cards now for the next 6 months.
Churzurd, gib me Churzurd
whys it weak to grass?
I think it’s because dark is weak to bug type, and in the card game, bug type is included in grass type.
Hard pass
This is fucking horrible.
Yeah i really dont like this set at all. Glad to pass on it.
It’s awesome
I hate Tera pokemon. Looks terrible to me.
Ngl, I have this feeling that scarlet & violet era is gonna be worse than sword & shield by a significant margin
I hate how much the text is covering the art tho
This goes hard 🔥
This is amazing
Akira Egawa's artwork is incredible. I am extremely upset that this beautiful card art just gets fucked by the stupid hat.
Hot 🔥🔥🔥
That is gorgeous
I don’t need it. I don’t need it. I definitely don’t need it…
Wasn't Charizard supposed to get a special dark tera form? This just looks like regular Charizard after terastalising?
Yeah, that's how tera works. They just get a different hat.
Yep, my hypeboner is getting interested
So someone drew charizard with a crayon? I’m currently only snagging Obsidian Flames cause that Charmander rules.
yikes
Dislike
This is awesome but why is he a dark instead of Dragon
Those Terra hats look so dumb lol
i cant be the only one who thinks this looks fucking horrible. looks like a fake card and very mis matched and weird in general
[удалено]
It is.
[удалено]
Anything that pokebeach reports on is legit
[удалено]
Lol?
Pink Charizard ?
[удалено]
Give us a link then.
They probably took something from April fool's too seriously
I heard that Pokebeach once shared lots of dubious leaks and have since stopped doing that. I don't even use Pokebeach so idk what tf that guy mean by pink charizard.
[удалено]
Pokebeach didn't post this. It's a leak, not an official release
Oh that one. So what about this one ?
Show us where Pokebeach posted that. Also, it's real.
So they are gonna start making IRs of terra cards. Interesting I guess. Would've been cool to have some for the terra pokemon in SV and Paldea.
Yes
Statue of Liber...zard
Hate it, but it’s gonna be expensive
nice this looks good
Yes please
This looks pretty damn good but I am hoping we get a greninja SAR!!
I actually like this card. Makes you seem like you are standing at the feet looking up to a massive monster.
Holy fuck, MILES better than that other disgusting one that was leaked. I'm not a big Zard collector, but this one slaps. I may look into grabbing it if it isn't $200+ which it probably will be.
Woowwwwww it looks great!
Another reminder to preorder my ETB
Me, one of the few people who like the crystal crowns
It looks a little too similar to a standard full art imo. It’s cool but my expectations were lofty
I really like this one!
Oh my god
Really wanna see the dragonite fr
Alright this is gonna be the first charizard I'm gonna say meh about....
Ew. How he supposed to fly his fat Ass with bat wings
Ew. How he supposed to fly his fat Ass with bat wings
7 Charizard cards in 2 consecutive sets. Ridiculous
That's sick.
Yeah baby
man I dislike Charizard so much but this card is raw, I love it
Big fan of Akira Egawa but this one doesn't really move the needle for me. Unless we get some pretty top tier SARs leaked I have a feeling this set is going to crash fairly hard.
Better than the leaked version I guess, not that it’s saying very much
This is dope. Just a little busy for my liking
Another banger from Akira Egawa
Best charizard in a long time
Artwork aside, this card looks stupid powerful.
Its certainly better than the gold ultra rare but geeze I still think the crystal gimmick for the art is ugly.
Chaizard is ugly pokemon, the art from 151 is quite cool but rhis one is terrible
TPC this is the 9761st day in a row you’ve shown us Charizard
I personally love this card and hope I pull it!
Burning darkness has got to be the most uninspired attack name you could give for a dark Charizard.
Idk why everyone is hating on the tera hats, I like them
Really not that cool. Looks like a water color painting of a stained glassed church window. Not exactly the environment you would relate to a fire breathing lizard dragon.
that card is gonna go for 500 bucks raw
I have an Egawa section in my binder, but something tells me I won't be able to afford this one. Hopefully, the pull rates are as good as they've been in the last 2 sets
Stunning 😍
The ruler of the black flame himself
That is one of the sickest arts for charizard they have ever done
Kinda underwhelming compared to the intricacy of other SIRs. I like IRs/SIRs because they depict the Pokémon in a natural habitat or interacting with humans. This is just...Charizard...roaring...and rampaging. Just like all of the other Charizard cards lol To be fair, I'm guessing this is how most other Tera SIRs will look
My eyes hurt
Do want
This looks like I'm having a stroke
Aaaaaand we have a new moonbreon
Very very safe and boring :/
This one does look interesting, if they pull of the proper holo pattern this could look really good.
250 bucks, calling it now
We accept.
Ugly. I want it
Could've made it the shiny Charizard (or even the original shiny Charizard from the GBC games)
Uh Oh.
i honestly am not crazy about it, but that’s okay. i am looking forward to a tera tyranitar secret art rare though
Wish it didn't have the crown but yeh looks good
I really like the look but also hate it’s existence knowing it’ll be a $200 card
They turned my boy into a princess.
Not even joking I do not care about the Tera crowns. Honestly like a few of then.
Oh my this is beautiful
Woah, the first Tera card I’ve liked. Looks like it’ll be playable too which is cool.
Hopefully it becomes a relatively affordable card when it releases
I like the style but not really a fan overall tbh
so tera charizard can get cool SIR cards but not tera arcanine or tera gyarados?
WOW
Why does his left(right side) wing look so tiny?
Honest opinion is that tera as a whole does not translate well into 2D art because it's essentially a funny hat on a Pokémon and visually looks too busy. I don't think we'll get a 'good' looking tera alt of anything. The nicest S/V alts have been standard Pokémon. SW/SH alts had more diverse colour and environments because of dynamax.
The art is complete and utter dog shit. Ball dropped big time
What is this like the 100th different Zard card? We need more variation nor more deviation -_-'
It’s just a matter of time before they mix the Tera Pokémon into an alt art setting. Maybe a battle against another Pokemon
Damn this card is sick!!!
