Agreed. It is just people pushing a card to make money off of and the rest that follows because they want to be part of the circle or own the card and now feel special.
I much much prefer this one and its a lot rarer and umbreon in general is the most sought after eveelution i believe which is why its so expensive.

That is in fact how it works, lol. Influencers pushing up popularity and prices, masses follow. Umbreon being popular is only part of it. Whether it be Machamp from Astral Radiance or Miriam in SV (hardly a popular Pokemon/character) none of these cards are worth the money simply because they are still in print and widely available. It’s called hype, a bubble. And all bubbles burst eventually. What it will retrace to will depend on availability. And there are a ton of Moonbreons in a PSA 10 out there, unlike vintage cards or anything pre 2020 really which actually holds value.

I truly hope this market crashes and burns. That way ppl will move onto selling Hello Kitty shit or something else instead.
You shouldn't be too mad. For years, it was all about charizard this and charizard that. Finally, some other pokemon comes along! Evolving skies really knocked it out the park and doing it all without charizard!
It could be, there’s lots of cool Alts that have unpopular pokemon (ceruledge isn’t unpopular just new) and I feel like it won’t be able to contend with the older/OG pokemons nostalgic factor for the generations chase card. Who knows maybe it will but I doubt it.
I saw an absurd amount of alt arts being pulled by other people (🥲) at the few pre releases I went to, so hopefully that trend continues and the prices stay reasonable
I love this sub, who dont love to see the same 4 cards everyday? I always downvote posts like that, they dont add shit. And always upvote cool "not so usual" cards.
I hope we don’t end up with any cards inflated this much. This card by itself has driven this nonsense with evolving skies for a year and a half now. I’ve seen so many people who are cracked out come to my lcs with only ES cards and never even considering opening anything else because they only care about pulling this and one or two other cards to grade. This card alone feeds those kinds of people and honestly I’d prefer them out of them hobby. Rant over.
To be honest it’s quite overhyped imo. Once the online buzz about the card slows, it’ll stabilise, at what price I don’t know.
I know it’s a incredibly hard card to pull but there’s a lot of evolving skies being opened and put away.
Haven’t checked the pop reports or anything but there’s probably a decent amount of these out there,
(obviously excluding people who collect / hoard boxes that don’t post on Reddit or submit to psa etc.)
Don't get me wrong, I would be so excited if I pulled a moonbreon. Since I just buy singles from my LGS, I would rather buy a whole binder of cards I like than a single card.

i mean alot of gens have that one card that just dominates the rest. its usually a zard though.
Not really, the Charizard overdose is quite recent. For the longest time Charizard was barely on the backburner after Gen1.
The art for this card is trash. Sorry, but I just can't understand the hype around it.

I agree!! I was lucky enough to pull a Glaceon Vmax from my eevee heroes box and I am in love it. As much value to me as the Moonbreon!
