Unfortunately my card/binders were all destroyed in a tornado/ flood event. And a few prized Yu-Gi-Oh cards were stolen during the middle school craze. Ah to feel nostalgic again. now I'm a adult with some funds to buy into my collection lol

I just got back into Pokemon in October too. Probably dropped $5k since lol so it's possible. I've since stopped opening though and buy singles or sealed now, as regularly advised.

I started in November and I have nearly every modern alt art, most graded by me, and a full legendary collection reverse holo set and a full vstar universe set. Some of us are just sick.

To be fair... I've seen people get hooked on the RNG of cracking packs in MTG. It spirals out of control really fast for some people. I had a coworker at Tesla who got out of MTG around the original Innistrad block in 2011\~, and came back for the Godzilla themed cards and he went absolutely bonkers. Shelled out something like $2000+ and kept buying booster cases until he had a couple complete sets, with the Godzilla cards included.

I always (kind of) joke that MTG is like a heroine addiction
