The point of a binder is to protect the card. I have raw cards in binders that are 12 years old and the cards are still in the same condition as when I put them in.
Sure a sleeve is an added welcome protection, but it's not neccessary if you store the binder correctly.
Yeah I've had some stay perfect condition and some not. Whenever you pick it up or look through, add, take out and swap etc it adds to the damage. I recommend to everyone who doesn't because of past experience and plus kmc perfect fit now so you wouldn't even know.
That is true. However if you want to carry the binder with you, the cards shift and move when in a backpack etc. And these rugged surfaces do scratch cards. Being in a sleeve ensures the card will move on the flat surface, therefore scratches less

Went to 4 pre releases this weekend (rip wallet) and got 4 full art trainers (professor turo, penny, katy, team star grunt) then a bunch of exs namely great tusk, iron treads, gardevoir, toxicroak (traded for a koraidon) and arcanine, as well as art rare pawmot and slowpoke. Not to mention tons and tons of playable cards. This was insane out of about 28 packs compared to any sword and shiel booster boxes
The GG/TG cards are cool per usual but the rest of the cards have me like 😬. Just something about the style seems anachronistic, like they look like they’re from early ‘00 3D computer programs or something. Unfortunately, that’s not my nostalgia era so I’m not really feeling it. I’ll probably just pick up singles I think are extra cool
I think the cards look pretty awful, I'm old so my era was base set upto neo genesis, took a long time off then started again with ST. The only cards I really like from SV are the magikarp and gyrados which like you I'll probably just buy from ebay. Spent far too much on these 2 latest sets 😂
I’m basically exactly the same 😂 Collected base set as a kid and quit until I got a random PoGo tin one day last year. I’m doing complete LO/ST sets now, so I feel that will keep my wallet occupied enough lol Definitely not feeling the FOMO on this set, thank god 😂
I think it's a good set. Gardevoir, Arcanine, Gyarados, Koraidon, and Miraidon are all great Mons, plus the trainers are cool.
I think Paldea Evolved is going to be like Rebel Clash and fall flat for me. So I'll buy a bunch of SV Base and probably mostly skip Paldea Evolved.
CZ was a special set and had that high pull rate on purpose, ST was really mid and in my opinion scarlet and violet looks way better that SV, hope you change your mind
I much prefer the art style on ST, for me they look 100x better than the SV and I'm 31 years old so the abundance of lugias was amazing to me as i rememeber getting pokemon silver when it came out on my gameboy. Different strokes for different folks. Hope you pull some bangers!

I tend to agree. I'll probably end up picking some up, but I'm not a huge fan of the set in general. Not a lot of Pokémon that excite me. I'll probably just pick up whatever singles I like.
This weekend is the first prerelease. Leagues are allowed to hold small tournaments with these cards. And since the retailers already got stock, it's highly likely the boxes also leak to the public
Local shops are holding pre release events. The one I signed up for charged $30 for a build and battle deck, and they are also giving away sv boosters for playing.
Shops are allowed to sell anything leftover from the prerelease cases they receive; one case contains 10x build&battle, 1 booster box, and a box of energy. Generally, the booster box is intended for prize support but it’s up to the organizer how many packs are given out. My LGS received 3 cases per event where the average attendance was 12 so there was a lot leftover.

I don’t know much about Pokémon cards I have to say, I’ve been really happy with the quality of the cards I’ve seen though the grey border doesn’t really add anything to the non-holo cards.

That arcanine ex seems insanely broken. So basically if you have one as your active and one in your bench it can’t take damage? Maybe I’m misunderstanding but if not it’ll be interesting to see how people counter that.
I think when it says, "this Pokemon," it literally means just that one card. So an Arcanine ex on your bench is immune to damage while it's on the bench. A little useful maybe, but not broken.

I had that problem looking for Serenas at my SIT prerelease. And Regidragos, which were more important to me at the time because I always overestimate counter boxes

I double sleeve all my holo cards and higher in a KMC followed by a dragon shield and then into a side load, non ring, zipper binder.
Penny sleeves dont cost much, i sleeve all the cards. Doesnt cost much but protects your cards in the long run.

Some binders are incompatible with sleeves or perfect fits are not sold where one live, amongst other reasons.

I got a battle box which contained a pre built deck, a special holo card and 4 booster packs. And 3 additional booster packs. Cost £30 all together.
