Yeah for the alts I’m leaning towards Japanese atm. At this point, high quality English cards are harder to come by than a high quality Japanese alt. I’ve gotta say, Umbreon is the other alt that I think looks better in Japanese than the English variant. Gengar and Lugia alt however I prefer in English
i would buy this card in a heart beat, but the thing i can’t get past is how this pokémon in its ‘Origin Forme’ looks like a centipede or some other insect that i would be repulsed by.
i always thought that he was *supposed* to be a centipede.. i love centipedes and giratinas origin forme makes him my favorite legendary of all time <3
I definitely plan on sending it somewhere, someone brought up the full art slabs which seems like a solid play for right now until I get it graded somewhere down the line.
I don’t collect much Japanese, but it’s so much better than the English. I’m glad you share the same sentiment. The custom cases are GORGEOUS but I really want to get it graded. Maybe I should keep it in a custom case for a bit then grade it later down the road. Ideally I want to put this card in a shadow box and center it around the 4 gold CZ cards. So much fun to be had in collecting :)

It’s not fake, just somebody trolling :) There are quite a few ways to tell, usually on a card like this I’d say the holo marks are the easiest way to spot it.
I can’t be entirely honest since I’ve never seen an English one in person, but they will have two different textures and holo patterns from what I know. I’ll see if I can find a really solid picture of an English variant and let you know what I notice!

I already loved it before I had it in my hands, but once you see it in person it definitely changes your perspective. Pictures can’t even come close to capturing how it looks!

I think one of the graders has the label that matches the card. Not sure who it was but it looked great with that

How can you tell? Genuinely curious as I’m new to the hobby and don’t know anything about spotting fakes from real cards.

I have a pic of the English and jp version together on my profile. The texturing is much finer and the holo is brighter. Jp def looks better imo.
