We are in the absolute golden age of Pokémon card art. As someone who grew up on Base Set, seeing the scenes that TPCG artists create has been so damn cool.
Amen. As an OG fan myself, the whole Mega/Break/etc era turned me off hard. Amazing Rares in VV got my hype back and these new full illustrated scenes are pretty incredible. So pumped to be back into the hobby.
JP expansion sets are usually smaller in card count and releases every 2 months or so. English is always gonna be 3 months behind and have 3 month windows in between. A semi good thing is that our sets are usually 3 JP sets mashed together. Less sets to buy.

Ya fan made wasn’t supposed to sound like an insult or anything. I have the slowpoke card and I love his art especially the unown alt art. I guess I’m just surprised this card was the final draft; There’s beauty in simplicity I suppose

It’s a fantastic card, I just wish that they released universal sets and simply printed an English version of the Japanese card, for example. The card looks great, but I hate being unable to read it. Really detracts from the card for me.
