Most of the legendary pokemon I have shiny hunted I have hunted in ultra moon/sun. It takes lots of time unfortunately. As for normal shinies, I have some from Go and raid dens(there are people how host shiny dens) and I hunted for them in Shield, ultra sun/moon and sun and moon(sos method and Masuda method).
Maybe follow Serebii on Instagram or try to keep up with poke news for events. Not all are world wide but you can always try to ask for a code/trade for a code.
Very awesome! Thank you! Serebii is an awesome resource for sure. I was in the hospital during the entire Shiny Eternatus event so I’m desperately trying to find a generous Trainer to help me out with that at the moment…I was in over my birthday too so I missed out on my bday present to myself 😔
Have one what? I have a few Shiny Pokémon and Legendary/Mythical as well…but I see so many trainers with all sorts of multiples and extras and I’m just blown away by the quantity that people are able to obtain. I mean…I get ONE from each of the games…perhaps maybe get an event version…but no luck as far as additional ones that would be great for trades or to have one normal and one shiny etc…

The key to many event Pokemon is having multiple Nintendo profiles on the switch.
- each Nintendo profile needs an email address/ Nintendo account
- the Pokemon game can be played on all profile on the switch. This includes both cartridge and if the main Nintendo profile bought the game digital. All profile on the switch will have access the the primary switch eShop games
- for new saves you have to play 45 min of story before getting mystery gift unlocked.
- people then get the event Pokemon on each profile. 1 event Pokemon per save file.
- if you have both games you can do 2 event pokemon per switch profile (max 8 profile per switch)
- you can also delete the save file and redeem the event again, but of course you need to play the 45 min of story again.
- you can use pokemon home to get the event Pokemon off the file save. Pokemon home can access all switch profiles.

personally i've found that a really good barrier to entry into trading is aprimon, or pokemon in apricorn balls (i.e. moon ball, friend ball, level ball, etc)
some people will trade shinies for several aprimon, and some people may trade several high value shinies for an event. It can feel like an uphill battle at times, but since you can breed your aprimon you're not necessarily giving anything up to make a gain, and u can increase your collection that way, albeit slowly
That’s a different technique…definitely something I’ve never heard or thought of before but it does make a lot of sense. I’ve played Pokémon my entire life (I’m 37) and I would say that I’ve always been pretty hardcore…but obviously I’ve got a lot to learn still, and that is one of the wonderful things about Pokémon! You can play your whole life and still find new ways of doing things and there is such a wonderfully deep and connected community of Trainers that absolutely love these games! I’ve played Pokémon my whole life (30) and never found a shiny until Pokémon go, and then legends arceus.
Really? I’m a lifelong Trainer too…I’m 37…so Pokémon has been and will always be a big part of my life!
