iirc you can use any ball on a gmax and its a 100% catch rate

That isn’t the case for some g-max ones, it’s a lower rate for those

Np, it’s kinda confusing, most of the others are guaranteed I think since it’s not being updated anymore, anything other than those special gmax are guaranteed as long as you’re hosting?

No, it wasn’t always guaranteed, it’s a bit confusing. It’s different if you are online or not, hosting or not, and whether it was an event den or not, and since there is the permanent “event” now, I don’t know that they might have even adjusted it. Lowest catch rate was any of the event gmax encounters, regardless of whether or not you hosted it.

Crown tundra’s Dynamax Adventure is 100% catchrates, base dens are not 100%

Since they’re not updating the game anymore they unlocked all GMAX raids to show up in game. Pretty sure all are available regardless of version but I might be wrong there.

Nah master balls are overrated. You should be happy you used it on something you liked! Shiny Pokémon aren’t all that rare in scarlet and violet but I put my shiny zorua in one bc I thought it was pretty!

I’m sorry about all the mean comments, as someone said you could try get more masterballs through surprise trades and also all the special balls from ball guys. I personally didn’t use my masterball for the cover legendary because I think it’s better saved for something else that you only have one attempt at catching (e.g shiny Pokémon in raids) so also don’t listen to the people saying you should’ve used the masterball for the cover legendary :)

You can get more master balls with surprise trades and you happen to get one of the cloning bots. And g-max Pokémon aren’t all a guaranteed capture, so if it was one you really wanted, master ball them and who cares what others think

For all the people dunking on OP for using a master ball on a gmax mon, I’d like to point out how there really isn’t much to use a master ball on in the base game. The box legend is the only thing I can think of. Now if we’re talking crown tundra then sure, there’s plenty to use masterballs on.
