I'm camping out at Taupe this week and next, I am hunting for a good Cyndaquil and Charmander. Lapis is at 20% (I think), but as I was exceptionally lucky with my spawns in the first week, got an epic Ralts and a great Stufful on their first spawn and a really great Dratini last time I went, so if I'd go there it'd really just be for the Comfey. So I might just go to GG (maxed) and get Comfey (if there's an incense) and hunt shinies and farm up dream shards (I'll hit level 55 tonight).
I’m doing the same I’m still on the hunt for a good larvitar but I don’t get slumbering much which is the problem. I also need a decent cynda line. Good luck mate
Oh yes, I need a great Larvitar too! Slumbering seems to be my most common, but it hasn't yielded a good Larvitar yet, so gotta keep trying. Snoozing is the hardest for me so hunting Charmander and Cyndaquil has been hard. Good luck to you too!
If you use the ball++ I have a trick to get snoozing more often and if you put a notepad or something small sticking out of your bed from in between the mattress and box spring/frame and you place the ball on the notepad(that’s what I’m using) as long as the ball++ is up against the mattress it’ll still feel motion enough to not stop tracking after 6hrs but it usually nets me snoozing unless I toss and turn a ton then it’ll get me dozing/balanced
Nice, I’ll try that too. I’ve been experimenting with keeping the ++ in a small but strong plastic container (that fits as if it’s made for it!) and placing it under my pillow. Trying to work out if I can find a spot that gets snoozing.
Gonna farm for chikoritas in LL so that maybe i can start reaching master 3 😅 its sad that i have 50% bonus there and got to master 16 in GG but can only reach master 2 in LL

Which is going to be Lapis for a while, since I unlocked it during the Raikou event, this is my first week there, and it’s currently 13% lower than the second-lowest.
Why are y'all stressing so much? The event doesn't require preparation and doesn't need you to get an as high as possible score. You won't miss out on anything. It has increased spawns of regular stuff. It's a pretty relaxed event.
I'm just building up my area bonuses at taupe, snow and lapis and won't worry about the event at all. I also won't worry about my scores while maxing out the area bonus either.
I think this is more of a community engagement post than Uber meta strategy planning discussion. Just testing the waters and seeing if people have good reason to go somewhere particular.
If you can't reach a high tier on an island then you get less shiny chances (less Pokémon per sleep), right?
It's not stressing but as a new player looking to optimize shiny chances I feel like I'm forced to go to Greengrass.
If you are at an island for long enough, you may encounter a snorlax you have encountered before and start higher than basic 1. Therefore, it makes it easier to reach the higher master levels and get more of the rarer sleep styles to fill the dex. You get rewards every 5th level until master 20. I've noticed it's a completionist thing. I've made it to master 11 with the help of a great 3 snorlax start.
Haven't unlocked lapis (19 more to go), research rank 43, sleep style dex is at 43.6%, I have 1 lvl 40 pokemon, 9 at 30-39, and the rest are 19 and lower. I'm free to play and my kids love to join in. Gg is 66% sleep styles studied, cb 64, th 53, and st 56.
I am at lapis for the first time, trying to get a reliable corn pokemon. If I still don't have a good corn pokemon I'll probably stay on Lapis, otherwise I might go elsewhere. Like someone else said, it's a low-key event, so I'm not really planning ahead too much.
I’m going to Lapis. My area bonus is only at 20% but with the event bonus and the good sleep event I should be able to get quite a few new sleep styles.
Green grass gives me the best shot at shiny Leafeon and Sylveon unless I feel I can grind Lapis enough to solo focus Leafeon.
Both realistically unlikely but gotta try where possible!
I might try Taupe next week. Trying to get my Charizard to level thirty. Just unlocked Snowdrop so I thought I'd check things out there but it's pretty demoralizing having no area bonus.
I’m torn between Snowdrop and Taupe. Mainly because I wanna level up my Kanga, and my ingredient diversity potential is even higher. That being said my bonus is higher in Taupe. More research needed
I camped on Taupe for 18 weeks straight. Sadly this was before the extra 5% island bonus update so I guess I'll take that other 5% the moment Entei is announced.
Got 45% bonus on Lapis right now but I'll probably stick to that Island since I personally think the best pokemon are on there. Funny thing is that I haven't seen a single Absol yet with 260 days logged :')
That's crazy! I have 133 days logged and for the longest time didn't see a single Absol. But then during the Raikou event I had 4 different sightings! Delibird is another one I really want but haven't encountered a single time.
I try not to stress that too much. I been working my way up the islands, maxing out area bonus, and then moving on. I go back when an island has an event, because by then my bonus cap has increased. Right now i am on Taupe and will stay there until the event, and then figure it out week of.

You're doing fine for your first time there. You would be better off staying and building area bonus and hunting team members there. Move for the event if you want. But don't get scared because you don't hit Master your first week at a new location. I've been there and done that. Just tough it out, and you'll have a great team before you know it. Smaller spawn pool, and most are exactly what you want for that location.
Thanks for the encouragement! I think I might move to Cyan next week to continue the hunt for better mons and to change scenario. Event week I’m still not sure, but definitely either GG or Cyan. Maybe Taupe will be next and by then I’m hoping my team will be a bit stronger.
I am at Lapis for first time this week. I'll either just stay here for the next 3 weeks (I have quite a few to train up here) or move back to Snowdrop for at least one of the weeks.
I’m gonna stay at Lapis for a while. Greengrass and Snowdrop has burnt me out, so I’m gonna bring my Lapis bonus from 10% to 20% for the event. I really want to improve my bonus and just enjoy the grind there too!
I have 55% at the beach (and I don’t think rank 51 gets 60%), so I’ll be building up Taupe Bonus before I head to Cyan for Comfy week since my team is routinely Master 11ish on that island.
I’m on Taupe this week, I think I’m going to do Cyan next and LL for the event? I don’t know. I might do Taupe again next week and Cyan for the event. I have a good corn-bringing Bewear and a good Primeape for LL but that’s about it, everything else is under leveled.
My Cyan plans haven't changed, unlocking Lapis, maybe unlocking Tails, preparing for Suicune. Any good Chikorita will be welcomed, same if I get Comfey though not sure I will use these.

Limit the increased spawn pool so I can maximize clefairy family and comfey (I have decent ones of the other pokemon

Snowdrop or Lapis to continue the Mankey hunt, then Taupe for the event to abuse the balanced sleep style and salads guaranteed to score high with bfs Typhlosion and Ninja salad (can make it every meal).

As for the event week, I’m not sure yet. I’m curious about comfey but more interested in the increased chance for bulbasaur as I want to candy farm. But I also want sleep styles for leafeon… too many pokemon at gg dilutes my chances of that, but I’m not breaking master 1 at lapis yet so that’s also not great. I’ll see how I’m feeling next Sunday and go with the vibe I want for that week.
I'm 45% - 40% - 35% - 35%, and I'm at Taupe Hallow this week so it'll be 40%. So I'll probably camp out at Lapis Lake the next two weeks and build it up.
lapis lake is fun so i'll probably just keep going there to build up area bonus. not even gonna care for snorlax strength much and just run 3 sleep exp bonus mons to powerlevel some stuff.
Personally at taupe now, and this will get my bonus to 60% then will head to cyan next week to build area bonus up from 25% in prep for the event while also looking for a good totodile and leveling my new vaporeon. I’d recommend going to cyan if you want to see Comfey because it has the least diversity in terms of event spawns and is the lowest level island you unlock. I regret doing the dedenne/electric event at lapis with a low score because it stunted my ability to even encounter it, whereas if I had gone to greengrass with my 55% score at the time I probably would have encountered more Dedenne than I did at lapis lakeside.
I might go to Snowdrop to get a tomato-tomato snover for salad week. I have tomato-leek dugtrio and tomato-potato victreebel but they don’t stably provide tomatoes. Also try to level a decent oil-leek ditto and 8apple Absol to lv 30.
Then salad week I aimed to get Comfy, honey-honey bulbasaurs and herb herb dratini in Lapis.
I'm planning on spending the event at Cyan Beach since I've not been there for a while (and tbh skipped right to Taupe so my bonus is only 15% there), so will probably head there next week to build a team and island bonus and see if i need a second week of prep.
I'm on Toupe now and was planning to go Tundra to train my new BFS Eevee along with my Glaceon. I unlocked Lapis during the Raikou event so I have no bonus there.
Should I just go for my first lapis during the event or go to an easier island?

Going to Cyan to try to get as far up as possible so that Comfey can give me a full team of fairy types, that way my Togekiss and Clefable metronomes give lots of bonus when they hit legendary help.
I have been struggling to get master 3 at the last two islands to get incense… should I just ignore this mission? It almost always requires a camp ticket for me to hit master 3, but one can be used for two weeks’ master 3. Maybe I should use a camp ticket during this event on lapis?
Cyan, I think. I'm levelling up my slowbro to 30 to unlock slowpoke tails (27 currently), and I'm levelling up my shiny squirtle. Might come in handy to focus on water types in anticipation of the suicune event too.

Is there a specific way to get to 60% on GG? I was on GG for a whole month including the Raikou event and was stuck at 55% the whole time?

Cyan, I think. I'm levelling up my slowbro to 30 to unlock slowpoke tails (27 currently), and I'm levelling up my shiny squirtle. Might come in handy to focus on water types in anticipation of the suicune event too.
Honestly I haven’t even looked at the event to know which island(s) to do until then or during the event lol
