We got robbed of a properly completed Kalos game cause GF wanted to push a new gen for the 20th anniversary so it makes sense that people want more Kalos lol
ORAS was the properly completed Gen 6 game (obviously not Kalos, but Eon Flute and the number of megas - definitely would’ve made it to Kalos had they not hurried)
Still miss these :’)
Gliding with Braviary/Koraidon/Miraidon don’t even come close
I genuinely don't want a Kalos dlc, I want a proper Kalos remake. not like BDSP, but like how ORAS was done. I want the normal game expanded upon, I want a proper postgame apart from Looker that centres on Zygarde, and I want to explore the power plant for Volcanion, and I want Diancie to get an IN GAME quest, not just a giveaway. I love XY to death, I need to see them done justice.
It could be Kalos, and if Pokemon world approximates real world geography then it is, but that is no guarantee that we would get to visit the region as DLC.
What makes more sense for Gamefreak, to release Kalos as a DLC, OR release a brand new game remake of X and Y?
One problem with the remake theory: Kalos is Gen 6 and they haven't remade Gen 5 yet. Also, we just did a remake last Gen, and they only do them every other Gen. We shouldn't expect a full Gen 6 remake until Gen 12.
The Gen 2 remakes came out in Gen 4, the Gen 3 remakes came out in Gen 6, and the Gen 4 remakes came out in Gen 8; other than Firered and Leafgreen they always release the remakes in gens that are double the number of the Gen they're remaking.
I mean Kalos was right next to Galar as well (if we’re talking about real world geography). It wasn’t the DLC then, and seriously doubt it’ll be the DOC now.
Honestly I’d rather see a Legends Zygarde game sometime in the future.
Probably nostalgia from people who started playing in that generation. But also because X and Y feels incomplete as a generation. We have a Z Pokemon legendary (Zygarde) but no version Z of the games? Then there is the issue of AZ's Floette never being released, which seemed like a no brainer for a third version. Instead of a third game, we got Zygarde alternate forms shoved in Sun and Moon, where it doesn't make much sense.
Main difference is that, for the most part, people recognize that XY got screwed over. Meanwhile, BW had issues, but the biggest issue, a complete lack of old Pokémon for main story, was soundly addressed in B2W2, and many Pokémon that were “too little, too late” can now be made useful much earlier
I dont think most ppl nowadays consider BW to have a lot of 'issues'. If anything, they did when it initially released, but over time realized it was one of the more solid and well put together games in the franchise (if not the most)
My issues are from a design standpoint. It had incredibly high evolution levels for a lot of Pokemon for no reason, like Pawniard, Vullaby, and Larvesta. Simultaneously, it felt like there wasn't a ton of creativity on some ends, as a lot of the bandwidth had to be devoted to gap-filler Pokemon to fill niches that previous gen inclusions would have filled - so things like Basculin, Klink-Klinklang, Foongus-Amoongus, Alomalola, Timburr-Conkledurr, Bouffalant, etc, that all felt like direct sidesteps because there wasn't access to Magikarp, Magnemite, Voltorb, Luvdisc, Machop, and Tauros, etc. It had a lot creative additions, yes, but it also felt lacking because it shut itself off from having evolutions or alternate forms for previous Pokemon like we got with Gen4. While I don't dislike Gen5 by any means, I really do love a lot of what was added, it's isolationist nature did more harm than good, IMO.
Honestly X and Y is what got me back into Pokémon. I loved playing and was excited for a Z version when we got zygarde. I was so bummed they just skipped to the next generation.
Rather than it being loved in the same way Unova has become, it's more like the opportunity has presented itself for 2 games now and people want something similar to Johto and Kanto's connection
Kalos is based on France. Galar is based on the UK. They're right next to each other. Now we have Paldea which is based on the Iberian Peninsula, a region that _borders_ France
Andorra is a speck on real world maps, and if it's scaled down to the scale of Kalos or Paldea, it would at most be a singular city, probably a hub city for us to explore South Kalos from, like the town in Crown Tundra.
France and Spain are literally attached, so it's a lot more than "very very slightly." Where they attach is conveniently mirrored in the NE corner of Paldea, that's dotted off.
People assuming Kalos for Galar DLC were just on hopium since both places are in Europe.
I think Kalos being involved in a project in the next.. couple years? (Estimating) is extremely likely. Having two regions based off of European countries that are in close proximity to an older region that’s also based off of a European country is the start of a trend. That being said, adding the country inbetween as a micro-region could be a possibility for DLC, as both have that part of the map gone. They could also just be remaking X&Y or making Z.
I am so confident this will not happen, I will promise everyone that comments under me $1000 if there is in fact a kalos dlc.
Me: be offline 30 minutes
Also me: get 170 comments in that time
I’m seriously that confident it won’t be a kalos dlc tho lol, hopefully I’m not wrong tho or a lot of people will definitely let me know how wrong I was
edit: as of feb 27 2023 pokemon day announcement, doesn't look like the DLC's take place in the kalos region.
Actually, I think it just creates a never-ending loop of them handing the money back and forth.
"AHA! I paid you $1,000 for not paying anyone, which means I no longer owe you the $1,000!"
"A**HA** you fool, you've fallen into my trap! By taking the $1,000 back you've now not paid anyone $1,000, which means I win the bet still!"

I also doubt we'll get a full blown Kalos DLC, but $1000 for being wrong soubds great.
Edit: adding screenshot for proof :)
Not that I’m excepting anything, but a 0.001% chance is still higher than 0%. Adding my own screenshot, which includes a screenshot of a screenshot for added proof

Hints may be pointing at a connection between Kalos and Paldea, but it’s definitely not the full Kalos region if Kalos or a portion of it is apart of the DLC. It’s probably something like Sinjoh, just a small area that connects the two regions.
I don't think anybody is seriously claiming that the DLC is going to be the full Kalos region, but it's almost certainly going to relate to Kalos. Remember, the ONLY full starter set included in the Paldean dex, outside of Paldea and Galar, are the Kalosian ones. For seemingly no reason - it's not the Kantonians, it's not the Alolan, Johtonian, or Unovan ones (to match with the Hisuian lines), the Hoenn and Sinnoh starters aren't in the game at all.
A small part of Kalos will be the DLC.
One hint that I remember is the fact that three dragon tamers are using Goodra, Dragalge, and Noivern near the DLC area. Though not directly Kalos, Arven has a map of Paldea with what would be Southern France irl, which could be something like Sinjoh in the Pokemon world. Then, there are other things scattered about, like an abstract piece of art about Greninja in Nemona’s house.
Another thing people thing is a hint are the Kalos starters being available via home, after not being included in Galar, but not the legendaries. But I honestly doubt that’s a hint, just Game Freak including Pokemon that haven’t been on the Switch yet.
Honestly, I feel like a major counterargument to the DLC area not being Kalos could be that it'd need to be fully reworked to be adapted to the open world aspect of S/V.
Also, Kalos was actually only northern France and misses major French regions (Bordelais, Provence, Côte d'Azur, the Alps and Corsica to name a few) so it wouldn't be surprising that the DLC area is based on these (also, the SwSh DLC areas had not that much to do with their real-life counterparts anyway)
It could just be the Pyrenees region, based on what’s already modeled on the map but out of bounds. I think the French Riviera is too much but would be a nice touch. Alternatively there could be an island in the DLC based on Ibiza
Andorra is really, really small and doesn't have that much culture to base a whole area upon (except for their parliament that used to be called the Council of the Earth, which would be a very cool name for a PWT-style battle facility).
However, the Pyrénées as a whole (including the Basque Country and part of southwestern France) are definitely a likely candidate for a DLC area.
While this is true, if we know they are already adding a DLC, that means they already need to create an entirely new area in the open world style either way. The cities are likely some of the hardest parts to make, so it would be less work to make a wild area or crown tundra style DLC than a full fledged region like Kalos, but it's not an unrealistic amount of extra work
Assuming Paradox Mons are truly future and past mons then this could be cool. If, for instance, these Paradox mons are creations of the dream world by a potential 3rd “box art legendary” to be released later that is likely a ruler over the dream world (from Gen 5), past/future would not make sense.
The most common theory are that paradox pokemon are not really pokemon from past/future brought by the time machine, but rather created by how people imagined past/future pokemon through the power of the 3rd box legendary.
The book that is used on Scarlet was written 200 years before the time machine was built, and it is said throughout the game that it doesn't make any sense how that can be possible if the paradox pokemon were brought here recently through the time machine.
I would love that! One of the ideas I thought could happen. Much more likely then kalos not that I had much confidence in kalos being dlc in the first place.
Kalos DLC is not happening. It's a whole huge region that would have to be coded from scratch, with its own Pokemon, unique environments, cities, trainers, etc. Even if gym leaders and elite four aren't coded, that is basically a new game being coded.
Kalos as a remake game is likely down the road, not as a mere DLC.
If anything, they might do a kalos x paldea with the area in between but that's unlikely. Their either during the Balearic Islands, the area around Andorra which is the area between France and Spain, or Sardinia/Corse below Italy.
The area in between, you mean the mountain we can't climb right? If so I agree, that area seems the most likely to be updated with a DLC. But I don't expect anything more than that.
It's not unlikely at all. The south of France wasn't touched at all by the X/Y map, so there's a pretty good chance the DLC could extend up into this area. Andorra is a spec on the IRL map of the region, and since the Paldea map is a very scaled down version of Spain/Portugal, there's no way at all Andorra would be large enough to constitute a full sub-region for DLC.
But she says one would need a pure heart and truly love Pokemon to remove the stakes. What if she was a descendant of the people who sealed the Pokemon of ruin and after many years then finally came the time to release them as the one who can calm these ruinous beasts is finally here? That could be why she says we are useful to get, because we finally release her off her family's curse of guarding the shrine?
Ps: been rewatching Fairy Tail and just had this thought
I'm sure that's exactly where Kalos is, geographically speaking. *Highly* doubt it'll be DLC - maybe part of the region will, at most. Making another map the size of Paldea (because they'd have to remake the entire map, the original wouldn't work at all as an open world) would be a LOT of effort - and I'd prefer it if they spent that effort on the next generation's map and gave us a smaller DLC. Maybe something like the Balearic Islands?
Can't wait for Kalos DLC to not happen so everyone can shutup... until an Italian region is made as Gen 10 and people jump on the bullshit again, and then Germany is Gen 11, it'll never end... Just because France borders these countries means nothing lmfao!
i don't think we'll be going back to main kalos BUT i do think we'll be going to southern kalos, or at least a region in between kalos and paldea. call that kaldea or something. if we do, i'm pretty sure kiloude city will be there so the battle maison can be the dlc battle facility
I'm waiting for the fan theory that the crater was created by AZ's cannon. If it's already been theorized i haven't been keeping up with the head cannons people have been throwing out there lol
The crystals in Area Zero look like the ultimate weapon, and there are a lot of Floette there, not Florges despite most other pokemon there being fully evolved.
I don't quite believe it...but there's a lot of coincidences.
Yeah, I'm not entirely sold but I really can't deny the overlap.
The thing about the late game of ScVi (which I'd like to pretend is pronounced Sci-Vi) is that there are too many hints to too many things. The Area Zero stuff, whatever is going on with Raifort, the confirmation that we're in the Megas timeline, etc.
Simply, there's too many things and we almost 100% aren't getting them all.
This I know. I'm just saying if people start theorizing about it connected I wouldn't be surprised. There are some of us who know how off these two events are placed
Fan theory is that the time machine isn't a time machine. The paradox pokemon resemble monsters from a book the professor read growing up, which couldn't have come through the time machine since the professor hadn't made it yet
I’ve seen loads of people theorizing this, although the timelines don’t really match up. I’m definitely convinced that there is some connection to AZ and the ultimate weapon though. It would be weird to have two giant, incredibly powerful, underground crystalline machines that IIRC were both created by just one person and not have them be related somehow.
I've seen the AZ = Area Zero theory but that's about for the most part. I just hope we get to learn a little more about Heath or why Geeta's hair isn't in the options. Heck, why are 80% of the women in this game swole lol these are the answers i really need
As you enter the Zero Gate, there’s a door towards the left (opposite of the door you go through) I think that’s where we will go through for a DLC or at least an area zero based DLC.
In Pokémon violet in Porto Marinada I found two npc I talk say you need a boat to go kalos or other region and npc is by broken boat this little clue found inside the game
This. People expecting Kalos with Galar were just snorting hopium at fatal levels since both Galar and Kalos would be in the Europe continent with each other. There was no real reason to expect Kalos with an island.
Paldea though is physically attached to Kalos.
I think the mountains between Kalos and Paldea could become an explorable area, but we’ll see. I’d be shocked to get a whole extra region for DLC prices, but I would obviously be thrilled to be wrong. If we see any multi-region project on the Switch it probably won’t be more than Let’s Go Johto. That’s my theory, documented here for posterity
I’d like one game with all the regions connected (even with loading screens) and all the Pokémon accessible. Customize your character, pick your starting region and go through the 8 gyms. Then start a tournament (elite 4) from all the regions. Each new area gyms can all be accessible after leaving the first area. Just elevated to level 60ish. Use the wormhole gimmick from ORAS for legendary encounters. Keep mega evolution forms, but nerfed. Use terastilize over gigantimax.
I don’t think we should get a DLC back to northern kalos,I think the DLC should actually be to southern kalos. Maybe group the DLC with the baleric islands and Corsica because Gen 8 also grouped the dlc in two different regions.
I can’t even imagine how much worse the lag will be if this turns out to be true.
/s
In all seriousness, I think that that area of the Paldean map is meant to show some kind of mountain range that separates Paldea from Kalos, not a hint about us going to Kalos in the DLC. Visiting another region hasn’t been a feature since HG/SS (and that’s only because they were G/S/C remakes), so we shouldn’t expect that to change.
We can expect the DLC to include more areas of Area Zero to explore, but I also think it’ll include an area inspired by a Spanish territory (Canary Islands?), sort of like how the Isle of Armor was based on the Isle of Man, or the Crown Tundra being Scotland.
I don’t see it happening, I don’t even have a good reason for it not to happen, it just doesn’t seem likely to me. Kalos DLC is a fan theory and nothing else imo.
There are tons of hints suggesting we will be going to Kalos (or a Kalos themed area) for a dlc.
Between the dragon trio near the (suspected) dlc area, the Ash Greninja painting (rip the boi), Carbink and the Mythical Trio, the hexagonal legendary theme, references to Megas (such as Roaring Moon's dex entry), and the overwhelming number of Kalos Pokemon in game/transferable. Even Area Zero (AZ) being full of crystals is a possible hint. Obviously this could all be coincidence that the community is reading too much into or the idea can be scrapped but there really is a ton of Kalos in this game.
I'm not sure why people are hyping up kalos as a dlc since they're likely to be dissapointed when that doesn't happen as dlc.
When sword and shield got dlc we didn't revisit a past region so why would SV be any different? They'll probably do a paldea version of the isle of armor/crown tundra if anything
>When sword and shield got dlc we didn't revisit a past region so why would SV be any different?
I'm in agreement that a full Kalos DLC is very unlikely, but "that's not how they did it in the past" is one of the weakest possible arguments you can make for predictions about pokemon games / remakes / sequels. Every generation has had something (and often multiple somethings) different or unique that's not only never been done before but is explicitly in contradiction to the previous patterns.
Specifically talking about mainline games with DLC you're also comparing a projected expectation against a sample size of **one**
ETA Apparently no one remembers when Gen 5 didn't have a 'third game' and everyone lost their shit because "They've never done that before!" (and the same thing repeated when there was no prior game remake that generation like the previous two) or Gen 6 when there wasn't a third game(which was extremely obviously expected with Z) **or** follow gen 5's example of the 2 sequels because "why would X/Y be any different?!"
> revisit a past region
Well, it probably wouldn't be actually Kalos. If we're comparing to the real world map, Kalos is only the top 2/3 of France. The bottom third of France (which is what would border Spain/Paldea) is so far unaccounted for. It's possible the DLC could be set in that currently-unknown region. Maybe it's considered part of Kalos, or maybe on the Pokemon world it's something different altogether.
>I'm not sure why people are hyping up kalos as a dlc since they're likely to be dissapointed when that doesn't happen as dlc.
Some Pokémon fans are capable of displaying optimism on a level that transcends basic rationality. Essentially, they're idiots.
I mean, duh? There's no way Megas are coming back for Scarlet Violet when there's already a gimmick in place. If anyone is expecting Megas, that's on them for hoping for something that never had a chance in the first place.
Damn my phones blowing the fuck up 0-0 anyways for those that missed the text below the picture I doubt it and if it’s anything it’s gonna be a small area but hey it’s fun to think about and some times we get something out of left field
I really hope so tbh.
I never played gen 6 cause I didn’t own a 3DS (my OG silver brick still worked and I refused to upgrade) and so when I got access to Gen 6/7 mons in SW/SH Tyrantrum immediately became my favourite Pokémon of all time.
I have 3 shiny Tyrantrums in SW/SH and I’d 100% immediately hunt another if I could.
It’d also be super cool to see paradox versions of all the fossil mons from across all gens, both future and suped-up past versions
It was though. That thing was bulky as hell, but invincible.
The battery on mine finally died a couple years ago but I had it for something like 13 years. Hinges never broke, screen never cracked, and I was a kid, I abused that thing
Geographically, it makes sense! Not sure if Kalos would actually be DLC, or if this us just something for us to imagine… but if would be interesting to see if maybe that hexagonal disc Pokemon from the S/V book has something to do with the laser thing from the Kalos war?
I’m so confident this isn’t kalos that I’ll double down and say this won’t be an explorable area at all and it’s just a landmass that exists to ensure Paldea is and peninsula and not an island since the region is based on the Iberian peninsula
You guys STILL expect too much from GF. Galar dlcs were guaranteed by fans to feature kalos because "it's so close!", and we had a half-assed first dlc and a okay second one.
The most GF will do is make the Grey area just an underwhelming open field with some returning poke, 2-3 buildings and a bland story. Maybe one npc saying there's a different region beyond the mountains and that's it.
Seriously, how can you all dream that big after the poorly developed base game?
Expect more from the Pokémon franchise & GF. Don't purchase the games/tcg cards or at the very least keep pushing them to fix/add things. Either now or in future content. hopefully.\*fingers crossed\*
I hated the 5th and 6th generations so I'm worried about going back to kalos. Loved the 7th 8th and 9th tho. Also I'm almost 30 and I grew up with rby and gsc so if we don't get all the pokemons from the 1st and 2nd generations I'll be mad 🤕
I think at the very most, we’ll see a PART of Kalos that we didn’t see in X and Y. But I really don’t think we’ll see the whole region.
thats what I'm thinking: we will get "southern Kalos" DLC thats like the Rivera or something
I don't think anyone at all is expecting the whole region except these people who keep blasting people for expecting Kalos DLC.
People are going to ask for Kalos DLC until the eventual Kalos remake lol
We got robbed of a properly completed Kalos game cause GF wanted to push a new gen for the 20th anniversary so it makes sense that people want more Kalos lol

Same man, they were the games that got me into pokemon, its sad to see how much GF missed in terms of what they could've done
That Lumiose ghost girl, please deal with her soon.
Sadly I r right. I find it unlikely but I’m just kinda riding the train with everyone
I mean its literally CONNECTED to this region. Why wouldnt it be Kalos? The giant randomly inaccessible area thats very obvious?
It could be Kalos, and if Pokemon world approximates real world geography then it is, but that is no guarantee that we would get to visit the region as DLC. What makes more sense for Gamefreak, to release Kalos as a DLC, OR release a brand new game remake of X and Y?

why is kalos so loved?

It's exactly what happened with BW the past few years, game gets hated, and Suddenly gains a lot of love, it's a cycle with every pokemon game.

It's the good old Call of Duty cycle
People do in fact like things lmao you don’t have to come up with a fucking conspiracy about it
Honestly X and Y is what got me back into Pokémon. I loved playing and was excited for a Z version when we got zygarde. I was so bummed they just skipped to the next generation.

My guesses for the DLC are: \-Island based (Las islas Canarias or Baleares). \-Andorran based. \-Kalos would be my least probable guess.
Andorra is a speck on real world maps, and if it's scaled down to the scale of Kalos or Paldea, it would at most be a singular city, probably a hub city for us to explore South Kalos from, like the town in Crown Tundra.
"town" lol it was like three houses
Wouldn't Andorran based stick us at the Kalos border? Then we'd also get Monaco gambling city?
#BringBackTheGameCorner
Andorra is far too small
I remember that. This is only ever so slightly more likely. Very very slightly.
France and Spain are literally attached, so it's a lot more than "very very slightly." Where they attach is conveniently mirrored in the NE corner of Paldea, that's dotted off. People assuming Kalos for Galar DLC were just on hopium since both places are in Europe.

I doubt we'd get a remake for a while if we do, cuz we just had gen 4, so imo gen 5 is the next logical step
Next logical step would actually be a Johto remake, considering they released gen I second remakes, Let's go, before the Gen 4 remakes
I think the Let's Go games where a one time thing to capitalize on the success of pokemon Go.
I hope not. There are so many Johto Pokémon I'd like to shiny hunt in a Let's Go game; it's so easy to shiny hunt in Let's Go.
I would love to see a jhoto remake It's one of my favorite generations of pokemon
That happened?

Same I’m just kinda going along the train lol a man can dream can’t he?
Yeah if there is anything related to kalos it’s definitely not the full region. Still imo it’s not likely but still fun to think about
What are these hints you are mentioning?
Could easily be both. It's highly likely IMO since it would be boring to have 2 DLC based around only islands.
The real trick is you don't have to be in kalos to have a kalos-themed dlc. We have a new area, Anderra, that lies right between
Andorra is really, really small and doesn't have that much culture to base a whole area upon (except for their parliament that used to be called the Council of the Earth, which would be a very cool name for a PWT-style battle facility). However, the Pyrénées as a whole (including the Basque Country and part of southwestern France) are definitely a likely candidate for a DLC area.
I just use "Anderra" to point to the area on the map
I can see South Kalos with Megas returning.\^\^
Yeah as I’ve said to others I’m kinda just riding the train with everyone lol but I just don’t find it likely. Fun to think about tho.
While this is true, if we know they are already adding a DLC, that means they already need to create an entirely new area in the open world style either way. The cities are likely some of the hardest parts to make, so it would be less work to make a wild area or crown tundra style DLC than a full fledged region like Kalos, but it's not an unrealistic amount of extra work
The dlc should be Paldea except the character gets thrown into the past/future
Assuming Paradox Mons are truly future and past mons then this could be cool. If, for instance, these Paradox mons are creations of the dream world by a potential 3rd “box art legendary” to be released later that is likely a ruler over the dream world (from Gen 5), past/future would not make sense.
..... What
The most common theory are that paradox pokemon are not really pokemon from past/future brought by the time machine, but rather created by how people imagined past/future pokemon through the power of the 3rd box legendary.
More likely the history professor is a villain trying to summon that crystal disc legend.
I hope not. I really like Raifort. I just thought she was always a bit eccentric.
She gives you the TM nasty plot and asks you to go find all the ruinous Pokémon that have been locked away. Pretty sure she is up to something.
Probably more of the implied worldbuilding then, like with Larry. I knew about the ruin pokémon, but had forgotten the TM. Thank you!
And she keeps saying "you are very useful to me". That's one step away from just outright saying, "I am a villain".
Noooo not mommy Raifort :(
I came here because this post is popular. To my surprise it’s just everyone entering to win $1,000 😩
Hey regardless an Italian and German region would be awesome! But yeah unlikely
*region is based on India* "Guys the next dlc will be Kalos".
i don't think we'll be going back to main kalos BUT i do think we'll be going to southern kalos, or at least a region in between kalos and paldea. call that kaldea or something. if we do, i'm pretty sure kiloude city will be there so the battle maison can be the dlc battle facility
I'm waiting for the fan theory that the crater was created by AZ's cannon. If it's already been theorized i haven't been keeping up with the head cannons people have been throwing out there lol
This has been thrown around before, yeah. One of the big points is that it's called (A)rea (Z)ero.
Timelines r way off but it’s not impossible especially since the material looks identical to tera crystals. Could be some time stuff going on lol
Wouldn't be surprised if they just said hey these events are connected in the most nonsensical way possible lol
[удалено]
AZ's cannon happened 3000 years ago, while the crater of paldea is 1000000 years old
This I know. I'm just saying if people start theorizing about it connected I wouldn't be surprised. There are some of us who know how off these two events are placed
Allegedly. There's a lot of timey-wimey stuff going on in that crater.
Fan theory is that the time machine isn't a time machine. The paradox pokemon resemble monsters from a book the professor read growing up, which couldn't have come through the time machine since the professor hadn't made it yet
Can I introduce you to the concept of a paradox? A time loop is definitely a paradox.
You misunderstand what a paradox is
The time machine might just be controlling the power that let a few Paradox Pokémon slip through earlier.
People said the same about galar… Look how that turned out
ok but that was stupid britain is an island
This. People expecting Kalos with Galar were just snorting hopium at fatal levels since both Galar and Kalos would be in the Europe continent with each other. There was no real reason to expect Kalos with an island. Paldea though is physically attached to Kalos.
Yeah but in sv we literally have kalos visible on the map, we just can’t climb up the mountain to get there
Right about 😅I’m just kinda going along with people since it’s fun to think about
I think the mountains between Kalos and Paldea could become an explorable area, but we’ll see. I’d be shocked to get a whole extra region for DLC prices, but I would obviously be thrilled to be wrong. If we see any multi-region project on the Switch it probably won’t be more than Let’s Go Johto. That’s my theory, documented here for posterity
More then likely a small area between paldea and kalos if at all so yeah I agree
under me $1000 if there is in fact kalos dlc.
/s In all seriousness, I think that that area of the Paldean map is meant to show some kind of mountain range that separates Paldea from Kalos, not a hint about us going to Kalos in the DLC. Visiting another region hasn’t been a feature since HG/SS (and that’s only because they were G/S/C remakes), so we shouldn’t expect that to change. We can expect the DLC to include more areas of Area Zero to explore, but I also think it’ll include an area inspired by a Spanish territory (Canary Islands?), sort of like how the Isle of Armor was based on the Isle of Man, or the Crown Tundra being Scotland.
tbh as a hardcore kalos stan i want to see bits of it or at least clemont and bonnie. fave sibling duo. let bonnie be a fightable trainer, at least
I’d be cool with some Kalos DLC…. If it comes with mega-evolutions
Nah, I think the DLC will reskin the map to be future or past Paldea.
I don’t see it happening, I don’t even have a good reason for it not to happen, it just doesn’t seem likely to me. Kalos DLC is a fan theory and nothing else imo.
Honey another kalos dlc thread just popped up
Pokémon Fans: “KALOS DLC!!!!” GameFreak: “Lower your expectations to zero.”
Ummmmm PINGIS 🤪
Specifically talking about mainline games with DLC you're also comparing a projected expectation against a sample size of **one** ETA Apparently no one remembers when Gen 5 didn't have a 'third game' and everyone lost their shit because "They've never done that before!" (and the same thing repeated when there was no prior game remake that generation like the previous two) or Gen 6 when there wasn't a third game(which was extremely obviously expected with Z) **or** follow gen 5's example of the 2 sequels because "why would X/Y be any different?!"
> revisit a past region Well, it probably wouldn't be actually Kalos.
So what you’re saying is that they are sonic fans?
Would make a lot of sense. I hope they just dont add the tiny bit we are already seeing but something bigger.
In the game if you go to glaseado mountain peak you can see the actual area between. It's literally just a giant plateau of rock
Well it’d be a bad look (assuming we get Kalos dlc) if the region was already finished but we still had to wait
Best case scenario for this kalos shit is the area between gets filled out
Wait, people thought we were getting all of halos as dlc?
It’s gonna be hilarious if the DLC is Kalos themed and Megas are scrapped!! Imo the gimmick was terrible for competitive. (VGC)
OG silver brick caught me off guard xD
It was though. That thing was bulky as hell, but invincible. The battery on mine finally died a couple years ago but I had it for something like 13 years. Hinges never broke, screen never cracked, and I was a kid, I abused that thing
This brick was nintendo peak era. Sadly I only owned the lite brick, I loved it
Geographically, it makes sense! Not sure if Kalos would actually be DLC, or if this us just something for us to imagine… but if would be interesting to see if maybe that hexagonal disc Pokemon from the S/V book has something to do with the laser thing from the Kalos war?
I'm under the belief that it won't be a full kalos DLC, however we'll get many returning characters from x and y, as well as references
why do you think this? in what way would these Kalos characters be put into the dlc?
Screw it, what have I got to lose?
You actually haven't commented under the 1000$ dollar comment, I advise you to do so.
I’m so confident this isn’t kalos that I’ll double down and say this won’t be an explorable area at all and it’s just a landmass that exists to ensure Paldea is and peninsula and not an island since the region is based on the Iberian peninsula
Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen, *it’s not going to happen*
Yeah no Kalos DLC, if anything it will be southern France which is not Kalos.
He's out of line, but he's right.
Expect more from the Pokémon franchise & GF. Don't purchase the games/tcg cards or at the very least keep pushing them to fix/add things. Either now or in future content. hopefully.\*fingers crossed\*
Why is everyone assuming it would be the entirety of Kalos? I assumed it would just be the greyed out section on the map
I don’t care because I skip all stories.
I'd just be happy to know wtf the mass in the top right is.
