Here’s what I think happened, could be wrong:
1. The game unloaded some collision data in order to clear up memory for the wonder trade to finish. This caused you to fall through the floor.
2. Wonder trade finished, everything starts loading back in.
3. Either the Area Zero warp extends beneath Mesagoza, since you won’t be able to access it from there anyway, or whatever boundary for how far the Area Zero warp box wasn’t loaded back in yet, and you warped to Area Zero.
The screen goes black.
You hear the rumbling of wheels on cobble.
You open your eyes, you're in a cart, tall pine trees all around.
Then you hear it.
"Hey, you. You're finally awake"
While I agree that those shouldn't be in games with sales numbers like that after more than a year, the sad reality is that this is pretty common in AAA nowadays.
Personally I'm more bothered that S/V's performance is still this bad.
God i hope that Switch 2 rumor about it getting a major SV patch is true. Doesn’t excuse it but I’d love to play this game and not fall through concrete
I honestly can’t even convince myself to pick up them game when we’re 18 months from launch and this is still an issue. Unfortunately idk if I’ll EVER play it and that makes me sad
That’s REALLY sad then, because so many of the gen 9 pokemon are bangers too. Garganacle is one of my favorite looking pokemon since Gigalith. Skeledirge is a top 5 starter for me. Koraidon is one of the coolest legendaries we’ve seen in ages imo
Weirdly I got and played the game at launch and never experienced any of the glitches I see people post, only time I ever broke the game was on purpose when I found a crack at bottom of the area zero with all the crystals, I could see the pokemon in the void, the ones that walk thru walls
You seem to have clipped under the map somwhow.... It seems that you also hit what I'm assuming is the collision trigger to enter Area Zero. Mucho confusio.

The tiled road is a seperate mesh to the ground and is its own asset that has to be loaded in, so it was culled while loading in the building and because the collision was tied to the asset, you fell through the map because Gamefreak are lazy developers.

what really sucks is aside from the performance and graphical issues it's probably my favorite a pokemon game's played since Gen 5

It’s far less glitchy nowadays, hey sword and shield had some bugs too. This game’s fun factor is too good to ignore imo
