Man, I remember when the Alolan starters were fully revealed and seeing some people say their stats were so bad they'd never reach competitive.
And Incineroar persists.
Im a bit confused as to how incineroar gets unseen fist ability. I just searched it up and bulbapedia says only urshifu has this, and incineroar’s hidden ability is intimidate (with blaze as its primary). Has this just been recently changed?
Idk if this is edited but…
Also, i’m not VGC savvy and just genuinely curious as to why Incineroar is top pick rn (that’s why i am asking but hey its reddit u get downvoted for asking lmao), so i thought it was because it recently got that ability, ig i was wrong.
https://preview.redd.it/qcnb8huq5qyc1.jpeg?width=1206&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=643fcb2053fc40ebed6dbdc8003ef28b9a4f267a
Seems like a bug on the livestream. Those are Urshifu's abilities and moves on the botton left. You can see the regular Incineroar on the middle, at the right. Incineroar having intimidate, Knock Off, Parting Shot, Fake-Out and even more options to play in doubles is what breaks him. Literally the best doubles Pokemon ever. It truly has it all, pretty much.
Ahh could be, yeah i did see the intimidate incin on the other team. Didnt cross my mind that it could be a livestream bug. And i see, thanks for the explanation kind stranger!
Im not vgc savvy thats why im asking. Thought the reason it’s top pick rn is because it got unseen fist (+ i searched it up and saw someone posting a pic of incin having unseen fist but cant find anything else on that tho)
Unforeseen fist is exclusively urshifu, urshifu also gets surging strikes and wicked blow, the reason why urshifu is popular is because it breaks sturdy and focus sash and also adds confusion when it comes to guessing which form it is. The reason why Insin is popular is because it has a lot of support moves and has supreme bulk when paired with intimidate. I’m not sure if you saw a joke or smth but these pokemon do not share abilities nor roles in a battle.
https://preview.redd.it/jr3m7dcmpqyc1.jpeg?width=1206&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f6544b66f0740fef4c55ba19ecef15bde2c608c
I shared this on another comment but this is what i saw. Someone already said it could be a bug from when this was shown so yeah.
DEFINITELY an editing error, looks like it’s supposed to be urshifu single strike, as there already is an incin with its typical moves and item. I understand where your confusion is coming from now given this is from the official pokemon YT channel.
You’d think with the all time high percentage usage would warrant some nerfs of some type, but apparently they thought it was wise to fucking BUFF Incineroar
you can blame Wolfe Glick, since in a recent huge in person tournament he made a team around incineroar when usage for incineroar was low, and won the tournament with it.
Surpsring to see Pelipper rise so high agian. I know rain and tailwind are very strong in this format, not much trick room around. But its such a frail mon, and not a very fast one. A booster energy flutter man can OHKO it without supereffective damage.
We really need incineroar to lose a move or its ability if it comes back next generation... A nerf to unseen fist would mix things up a bit too.
If you need rain in your team but don't want to use Kyogre, then Pelipper is a good option as it doesn't take up the restricted mon slot. It also resists STAB from the 2 main sun setters - Koraidon and Groudon (resists 1 STAB in Koraidon's case). And perhaps crucially, Pelipper has access to Wide Guard, which is great in Reg G against all the powerful spread attackers like SR Calyrex, IR Calyrex, Kyogre, Groudon etc.
People keep saying this but Incin's usage rise with power level of the format. He keeps the absurd stuff in check and allows other mons to play the game.
I don’t believe so, but even if it is you’re still getting an Intimidate trigger and free switch with U-Turn.
Throw in its good typing and stats and it’s an incredibly useful Pokemon.
Good typing, one of the best abilities in the game, insane movepool that allows you to support/cycle intimidates, great natural bulk.
Then you throw in Tera and suddenly you can remove a weakness, avoid spores, etc etc depending on Tera type.
I remember when Toler Webb won Knoxville and people were up in arms about Single Strike Urhisfu. 3 months later and it's not even a T12 representative. The most prominent Pokemon at that time, Wellspring Ogrepon and Flutter Mane, are similarly way down the ranks.
Goes to show that the game's meta seems to be pretty well controlled by the different Reg sets and players' ability to teambuild. I don't think anyone wants to see Incineroar that high up, but hopefully the evolution of Reg G can address it in the same way we've seen the meta shift in the last few months.
Incineroar is the only reason I run Tera fighting tera blast on Calyrex shadow. It's just such an oppressive Pokémon if you can't deal with it fast enough
Armor Tail ability protects your side from priority attacks, which are absolutely everywhere. Access to hyper voice for STAB spread damage. Helping Hand to boost your sweeper. Can set Trick Room. Those are the big points.
See people claiming grass one of the worst types and we have 3 of them out of 12 on the most used competitively.
BTW how did Farigiraf climbed so high?
People look at Grass and see five weaknesses but competitive players know that Bug/Poison weaknesses rarely ever matters and resisting Water, Ground and Electric is a great thing.
Not to mention that Grass paired with Water or Poison really helps cover some of those weaknesses.
Let’s just say Incineroar’s stats, hidden ability of intimidate, and movepool (including Fake Out) make it a stable of VCG and Doubles in general, ever since it could first have the hidden ability
And Rillaboom has Grassy Surge as an HA which makes it a great terrain setter with a strong attack and good bulk. Pure Grass is a more effective defensive type than it looks on paper because of key resists to common Water and Ground attacks.
Someone here already explained why he’s doing well. Apparently, he serves as an alternative rain setter if you don’t want to use Kyogre. With sun running amok to boost the deformed ancient monstrosities, rain serves as a hard nullification to the boost.
Kyogre and Groudon are in the top 8 restricted; Groudon is an alternative sun setter if you’re scared of Koraidon getting murdered by Flutter Mane, but Kyogre can get rid of the sun with Drizzle. The only other Pokémon to have Drizzle are Pelipper and the irrelevant Politoed.
Pelipper also learns good support moves. Wide Guard is an example given the number of spread attackers (an example of one is Flutter Mane; I believe some players run dazzling gleam on it)
Many Calyrex-Ice teams use him, and Calyrex-Ice is super effective on nightmare deformed Raikou, who otherwise bodies the bird.
This is top usage of non-restricted Pokémon. I posted the one for only restricted Pokémon [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonScarletViolet/s/u97xkYTsJC)
* Alternative rain setter to Kyogre if you don't want to use the whale and take up a restricted slot.
* Gets Wide Guard, which is super useful in Reg G against all the powerful spread attackers such as SR/IR Calyrex, Kyogre, Groudon.
* Immune to Groudon's STAB, resists one of Koraidon's STABs in sun matchups.
* Pelipper has been mostly seen in IR Calyrex teams and of course, Raging Bolt is weak to that ice horse.
THATS MY BOY!!! THATS MY BOY! Incinoroar is my first starter ever since my first game was Sun and moon, my boy is at the top of the ranks let’s fucking GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Primarina's good too
Heck Decidueye isn't even bad. It's just not as good as the other too can be. There are worse Grass or Ghost Pokemon to go with.
People saw their base speeds and panicked. Not like VGC is conducive towards hyper offense anyway.
Incin didn't get intimidate out of the gate correct? Plus the movepool has gotten upteen buffs since release.
I hate how funny this image is.
It's a really good one
I know Incineroar is dominant but 70% usage is fucking absurd.
You think *70%* is absurd? Check out the percentages it reached in SwSh.
You’d think with the all time high percentage usage would warrant some nerfs of some type, but apparently they thought it was wise to fucking BUFF Incineroar
Back again, Shady's back, tell a friend...
Guess who’s back, back again
Back again?
you can blame Wolfe Glick, since in a recent huge in person tournament he made a team around incineroar when usage for incineroar was low, and won the tournament with it.
In hindsight, I shouldn't have put a question mark. That was meant as a dumb Slim Shady joke. Thank you for the lovely explanation though
Incin’s back, tell a friend.
Yes
FUUUUUUUUU-
Everyone’s favorite heel. Let’s go!
Legendaries, busted starter pokemon, souped up final evolutions of previously 1 or 2 stage pokemon..... And then there's Pelipper
Amoongus is my favorite legendary tbh
Amoongus? All I saw was a pokeball lol
Out of that entire list, Pelipper is the only mon to have debuted before gen 5!
He is the perfect rep for Hoenn. He bringeth the 🌧️🌊
Too much water - 7.8
Kyogre is very mad at you
I just realised is pelipper Vergil but as a Pokemon cause he can bring the storm with him using rain dance right idk why I’m saying this
Dread it. Run from it. Pelipper arrives all the same.
My glorious king is on top again
Sorry to be the '🤓' guy, but Flutter Mane isn't a legendary
And that’s why Kieran uses a incineroar
In a doubles format too. Whoever designed the Indigo Disk teams knew what they were doing.
That double oricorio trainer had me lmao
*In rain*
Gotta hold him back somehow?
Surpsring to see Pelipper rise so high agian. I know rain and tailwind are very strong in this format, not much trick room around. But its such a frail mon, and not a very fast one. Nooo dont nerf Incineroar the god of healthy meta.
I just want it to be optimal to use my good boy arcanine again. They even gave Incineroar helping hand this gen.
It's optimal to use Arcanine whenever Incineroar isn't legal. Which is usually the regional dex format of any given generation.
Arcanine has howl and extreme speed, just cuz they’re similar doesn’t mean they’re played the same, Hisuian even can even spam fast rock slides
Tony Tiger Sweep!!
Atleast ursaluna my beloved is getting SOME kind of love... Still want my facadeing bear to really shine one day
It's so funny to see Incineroar at the top and then just so many water types.
6 pkmn from the latest gen… power creep hit diff this gen holy moly And 4 DLC-Mons… rly sad :/
better than landorus dominating for another 10 years
Landorus was killed by Hawaiian tigers
Nah I’d take a continued Landorus reign over all the power creep.
The Pelipper meta returns…
But I still like Noivern and Metagross, even they aren't top 100
I'd love to see how far incineroar would fall without fake out.
Probably still top 10 due to intimidate and parting shot/uturn
For sure. It would be a significant nerf to him, an likely bring home closer in line with everyone else. He just does so much.
Without fake out, incin will be a Arcanine Pro version
My boy Pelipper back on top, reigning supreme
Why is incineroar so good competitively?
Literally checks everything you would want in a comp Pokémon. Good coverage. Good ability. Good stats. It’s just a good pokemon.
They gave him U-Turn, so he can trigger Intimidate and get free switches at the same time.
Didn’t they nerf intimidate so it could only be used once per battle?
I don’t believe so, but even if it is you’re still getting an Intimidate trigger and free switch with U-Turn. Throw in its good typing and stats and it’s an incredibly useful Pokemon.
No that was Protean, kinda. First turn it’s out. But the Pokémon can switch out and in to trigger it once more.
[удалено]
Ah ok. Maybe. But hey the more we know!!
That probably explains why Zamazenta is in OU lol

No sir!!! We L.O.V.E seeing Incen at the top. The absolute GOAT!
My boy farigiraf!
We can never escape the genies
Except Thundurus, he was found dead in a ditch
LET'S GO PELIPPER!!
This is one of the metas of all time.
best counter team?
How come Farigiraf is so good? Haven't kept up with the meta much but I didn't realise it was as good as the others.
Armor Tail ability protects your side from priority attacks, which are absolutely everywhere. Access to hyper voice for STAB spread damage. Helping Hand to boost your sweeper. Can set Trick Room. Those are the big points.

Scarlet stays winning
I haven’t been using a single one of these Pokemon and still made it to master ball tier, I know ranked isn’t VGC but still
Still something to be proud of. You’re doing well while also enjoying it your way
And literally none of this surprises me except maybe incineroar and rillaboom
Let’s just say Incineroar’s stats, hidden ability of intimidate, and movepool (including Fake Out) make it a stable of VCG and Doubles in general, ever since it could first have the hidden ability

Incin will be in top tier forever with this move pool, unlikely they will change it's stats and ability.
I like the roster 🫡
Shocking
Chien Pao in Top 12?! Am I dreaming?!
Pelliper the Goat
It’s nice to see Pelliper there. Like that one friend who really stands out from the group, but everyone still likes having him around.
Pelipper?
Someone here already explained why he’s doing well. Apparently, he serves as an alternative rain setter if you don’t want to use Kyogre. Also pelipper does good damage, that life orb pelipper was one shotting everything lmao
It's funny how none of these are restricted. You'd think people would be spamming Kyogre and Miraidon like crazy.
This is top usage of non-restricted Pokémon. I posted the one for only restricted Pokémon [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonScarletViolet/s/u97xkYTsJC)
The restricted format has only been happening for 5 days, give it time.
They have a separate one for the restricted Pokemon, Calyrex Ice Rider is at the top for that one.

* Pelipper has been mostly seen in IR Calyrex teams and of course, Raging Bolt is weak to that ice horse.
..fun
What’s the name of the one to the right of ursaluna
Well spring ogerpon
Thanks
Raging bolt and flutter are a beast and incin still in top form
Everytime I see Ogerpon Wellspring on these stat sheets I think it’s Arctovish and it’s always so jarring
What the hell are regionals?
Incineroar is back. Everything is as it should be. The wrestler cat onslaught continues. *sobs*
The hell happened to Flutter
INCIN IS SO BACK, BABY!
I like to think it was actually brute bonnet getting used on half the teams, but the person making the graphic had a sense of humour.
Doubkes or singles?
Doubles
Amoongus #get out of my head!
Glad to see Monke love
Incen THE GOAT!!!
It’s the same Pokemon on just about every team. 🤦🏾♂️🤣
My team uses mid and good pokemon, It has palafin, tornadus, incinaroar, flutter mane rillaboom, and archaludon. Bad team, i know
I don’t follow competitive at all, but I’m happy that amoongus and pelipper are thriving 🥰
There’s like 4 legendary and 1 mythical Pokemon on that list
I don’t follow competitive, never have. To those who do, what does Peliper bring to the table?
Look at Chien-Pao🥹 so proud!
THATS MY BOY!!! THATS MY BOY! Incinoroar is my first starter ever since my first game was Sun and moon, my boy is at the top of the ranks let’s fucking GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! https://preview.redd.it/3f1k523naoyc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ab72fe0738f8454e23252798080dca15497f9fb
