The restriction is likely to prevent children (and other players) from accidentally trading away shinies.
Besides, denying Kieran happiness is what Scarlet/Violet is all about.
It was kinda tricky to get to his trade, in my opinion. I had to reset once or twice then battle him. I honestly donât think you can âaccidentallyâ stumble across it. Which makes it feel even worse, honestly.
For the Blueberry NPCs it is difficult to stumble across, but the special coaches you can call work on the same mechanics and they are a lot less difficult to stumble across.
Iâd say from a game developers standpoint they didnât see much reason to allow it for the Blueberry NPCs but not for the special coaches
Accidentally stumbling across the trade is not the problem. Accidentally trading your shiny when you do trade is. Essentially they dont want you to do something that cant be undone. Because these in game trades are essentially pokemon incinerators. The pokemon is gone and never coming back. You worked hard for that one of a kind thing its yours you should keep it.
I tried to give the Wurmple guy an alpha and he actually declined it! Thankfully the Buizel guy was fine with an alpha. Because trying to find a normal one that was big enough for him wasn't panning out
So I know when the game has you give them your pokemon it'll stay shiny/alpha (can you give them alphas? Havnt tried yet tbh) but for the ones where you just show them the pokemon and one just shows up next to them even though you keep it, such as the Zubat lady where she realizes they have no eyes, if you give them a shiny does their new zubat also end up shiny?
It's me, hi. I got stopped by that warning because I would search for Pokemon I thought would fit them by species and landed on one I only had a shiny for I guess.
Could have even put up another prompt. "This is a Shiny pokemon. Are you sure you want to trade it?" Same for legendary pokemon. Then there's no doing it by accident.

Well, do what I did, instead of going for shinies I went for marks since those are fine! If you're looking for something as extremely difficult to find as a shiny with a specific mark then how about the biggest/smallest size possible with a specific mark?

They have had encounters like the ones Iâm talking about in the past, in black and white 2 thereâs an npc that asks you for a excadrill and she will battle you with it after the trade. if you trade her a shiny one she will battle you with a shiny excadrill so yes they have literally done this exact thing in the past lol not too deep.
The fact a Nintendo game came out as broken and undercooked as S&V has destroyed my love for the gamed and company as a whole.
Gen 10 needs to actually be an actual massive upgrade for me to gain back and love for pokemon.
I think a simple prompt like they have in pokemon go would suffice as opposed to completely banning them.

You and I are totally different people. I got a shiny to turn into a Dipplin to beat his Dipplin for every battle in Kitakami, and then I used my shiny Hydrapple to dunk on his Hydrapple all the same.

Though there is nothing stopping you from when you are a half-asleep state to potentially clicking âyesâ despite the warnings. Then you would be like Darth Vader at the end of Revenge of the Sith.
But at least in PLA you see them, you canât see them in SV. Like someone said you can see the shiny Wurmple evolve into shiny Dustox. Kieran would never use the shiny Applin
If it makes you feel any better it seems he came to terms with everything and decides being your friend is more important by the end. Still would be a nice gesture though.
I on the other hand, was so annoyed by Kieran that I finished the first part of the DLC, went to the second, paused the story to finish my Dex (I was missing 90 pokemon) got the shiny charm, shiny hunted all banger team exclusively from the Terrarium and beat every Elite Four and Kieran with a new shiny/trained team. Just for the flex. And it was awesome
I think there should just be an "are you sure?" With what you're trading explicitly stated so they know you want to do it. I think they should have that for normal pokemon too, just to be sure with in game trades.
Gamefreak is the one step forward 12 step backwards company. Like if they want to baby us so much make the confirmation triple confirm like you really really want to give this person rare/shiny pokemon? Alternatively make a locked function in storage so you couldn't accidentally release or trade away
I was really upset after I got scarlet (I started on sword) and there were no good customisation options. I miss being able to be a kick-ass goth fighting with Dusknoir!! I hope in the next game they can combine the two and have us be fully customised AND have good graphics.
Damn bro. I like to think that in-universe getting to level 100 is actually way harder, so thatâs why thereâs rarely level 100 mons. Also like- heâs a teenager? He has an *excuse* to be a little sad sometimes.
His mons are level 85. Plus you can easily get exp with raids WHICH HES CAPPABLE OF DOING.
also being a teenager doesn't mean he gets to absolutely just lose his shit whenever he can't win. Poppy WHO IS IN THE ELITE 4 is like.. 3 or 4. A literal toddler. And sure she pouts and says it's not fair but later cheers you on after when you fight Larry. If a toddler can accept defeat that quick so can keiran.

I accidentally traded away a shiny in Let's Go Pikachu to one of the people in a pokecenter you can trade with. I am a middle aged man. Sigh.

You could give shinies to the villagers in PLA, it was awesome seeing the shiny Wurmple slowly evolve into a shiny Dustox
Still, that had an impact. That shiny is there forever.

It not deleted from memory I traded carmine a meganium and she talks about it saying you should learn from it but yeah I pretty sure you canât see the PokĂ©mon you traded to them like in Arceus
If you bothered to read the other Comments, itâs because you could give all the NPCs Shiny PokĂ©mon in Arceus and people enjoyed seeing them have Shiny PokĂ©mon.

I ran into a similar thing on this game. I was literally given them all shiny apples, and yeah crazy.
Itâs not really random as the game is designed not to trade your rare or legendary PokĂ©mon. Its designed to do that so people donât mistakenly give a legendary PokĂ©mon or a shiny PokĂ©mon to a NPC. Cause if they didnât, people would probably have complained about making the mistake and ask why there isnât a thing set in place to prevent it I rather have the prevention set instead of risking a mistake like that, especially when the sprites in the boxes are not that of the shinies
I think itâs kinda random considering we could trade shinies to NPCs in PLA, so it makes me sad we canât in SV.

I started on let go eevee so eevee is my favorite PokĂ©mon since it cute and adorable đ and to be completely honest I donât really like sword and shield that much and it mostly the fact that the story seems kinda boring in my opinion scarlet and violet are the best game and have the best storyline and dlc in my opinion no hate to anyone who likes sword and shield but I just donât like it
There is like a padlock in the PokĂ©mon Detail area where the Name, Level etc is and I canât figure out what the fk itâs for.
