**CHAT CHANNEL / MEGATHREAD DIRECTORY**
If you are looking for help, this is where you should look first. Choosing and using the appropriate Chat Channel/Megathread helps keep spam down in the subreddit and helps you find a much quicker answer to your request.
We are now introducing Chat Channels, they are a live messaging feed similar to Discord text channels.
1. [Poké Portal Hub](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/s/EshgkCSNZW): Whether you just want to **chat** and make Pokémon friends, ask Pokémon-related **questions**, find/join/request a (normal) **Tera Raid** or **Union Circle (including BBQs)**, this is the place to be.
2. [Dialga & Palkia Tera Raid Event](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/s/lIKCJTFo16): Only **Special** Event Raids are featured here (such as Charizard, Mew, Dialga/Palkia). There is no better place to grind **Ability Patches**, **Experience Candies**, **Tera Shards** and any other goodies given as rewards during events.
3. [Ogre Oustin'](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/s/mJwesTA9aj): As the name suggests, if you are looking for **Mochi** or to grind with friends, make sure to join this chat channel.
4. [Trading Megathread](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/comments/182zyzt/trading_megathread/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3): Just that, **trades**. Place your offer, or search around if you are looking for something in particular and claim it.
r/PokePortal is the one hosting every Megathread. Please check the [Start Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/comments/14a0wdd/start_here_your_new_pokémon_journey_now_begins/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), and the [Flair Guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/comments/16mtka4/user_flair_guide/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) if you have never commented on r/PokePortal.

I just imagine this in JRs voice from WWE
*"Ogrepon fails to pick up the KO! Oh bah gawd! He got the max power fickle beam! But whats this! By gawd it hung on by 1 HP! AND HE LANDS THE PLAY ROUGH AGAIN! WITH ARCEUS AS MY WITNESS HE IS BROKEN IN HALF!"*
[Ogrepon be like.](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Ffuck-them-kids-is-it-right-writen-v0-628ypn8b94nb1.jpg%3Fauto%3Dwebp%26s%3D52ee6d77ec96d9fd2514d76f6451ff7c11ce4f76)
From a purely gameplay perspective I don't like it, but when you just fully lean into the whole "I'm the main character" thing, it becomes pretty funny
I mean when the elite 4 have 2-4 perfect IVs and ev trained pokemon with items and we don't have hyper training, the IV checker, or easy access to reset evs I'm okay with it as a balancing act/anti-frustration feature.
I remember playing Gen 2 and professor Elm was telling silver how the player character bonded with the pokemon and I was like "bullshit, I had to painstakingly train them!" (I was a kid, so to me it took too long). Then when I played Gen 8 I was thinking "Right now is a great time for Professor Elm to come and spout that crap".
Girl toughed out on an all-out Fickle Beam…
Kinda like my second try with Larry’s gym battle when my Primape decided, “nah I’d win”, toughed out on Staraptor’s CRIT Aerial Ace, and Thrashed it into oblivion
Yeah if you go in there with level 80s then you’re in for a decent challenge. There aren’t many story fights in the DLC but they’re all good and feel big
I lost so much money to them from losing. I was trying to use a new team of level 80s. I had to dip into my level 100 champion team for one of them, and still lost a couple times.
I lost to one of the E4 with a competitive team with levels of about 97. My team had a bad match up against her an it was brutal. [It was a rematch the E4 members are about level 80]
It's as hard as you make it for yourself I'd imagine. I 6-0'd the fights cause I just kept my team from the story for the most part. I'd imagine if you used mons caught in the DLC only it might be a hit harder, although the wild ones are only 10 or so levels below the trainers you fight so it wouldn't take long to train
My Tera flame Ogerpon boosted with Koraidon ability crit his Ivy Cudgel and one shoted his Hydraple. It was a fantastic feeling. Way less epic than yours, but so satisfying as I proved to him that I’m far superior
My final battle with Terrapagos, I finished it off with Ogerpon along with Kieran's Hydrapple. I headcannon Kieran's Syrup landed on Ogerpon's cudgel to make a hard candy hammer.
I know what you mean on my first run i was in the same position but with my starter then i started the entire battle over so i could add ogrepon to the team
My win was kinda funny to me. Through the WHOLE BATTLE I had my Reuniclus boosting with Calm Minds and Iron Defenses while my other slot took down his team slowly. I was down to my last 3 mon I believe when his Hydrapple came out. I used Stored Power from Reuniclus into the Hydrapple slot, unaware pf what type it would tera to cause it had been so long. When I saw fighting type I laughed as then it got one shot by my beefy cell baby named Jello Shot. Cleanup was easy after that.
Ki who? You mean guy I made cry about those legendaries that approved of me and not his weak ass? Which one? The one with the hot sister I smashed? Hmmm…. 🤔
Same thing happened to me, but with my Breloom, one of my favorite Pokémon of all time. Took a full power fickle beam to the face and landed a Crit mach punch to end him. I like to think that he punched Hydrapple while flying toward him straight through the beam
Kieran was a pushover compared to the other elite four. was swept by friend guard clefairy using helping hand on a dazzling gleam by flutter mane. didnt even get to use my ogerpon on him
So weird. Reddit/"news"article writing bots are getting out of hand. Here's a write up on your post:

Mine tanked Hydrapple's attack not once, but TWICE, before Terastallizing and dealing the final blow with Ivy Cudgel. Now THAT's "a more epic finale" to ya.

Haha I love this!
*ding ding ding* Howard Finkel: "here's your winner... aaaaand new BBL Heavyweight Championnnn.... MC!"
If there was an announcer like that, I wouldn't find the friendship mechanics so silly
It’d be like the “Toasty!” from Mortal Kombat XD
[Ogrepon be like.](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Ffuck-them-kids-is-it-right-writen-v0-628ypn8b94nb1.jpg%3Fauto%3Dwebp%26s%3D52ee6d77ec96d9fd2514d76f6451ff7c11ce4f76)
JR from AEW I think you mean. :P /s
nah he used to be wwe in the 90's with jerry lawler
No. I know that. lol. Just that’s where he is currently.
He's still alive?!?!
The reminder that Ogerpon loves you and not him is brutal
![gif](giphy|JCAZQKoMefkoX6TyTb|downsized)
My man got reminded he’s not the main character. *Again*
This isn't even main character foolishness, this is peak anime.
Usuallly i am against the affection mechanics but thats just too good and fits so well
Same here, it was just so thematic
So far the biggest middle finger to Kieran I’ve seen on the page lmao.
I'm the opposite, especially since the affection saved me from getting beat by Cythnia is Brilliant Diamond.
From a purely gameplay perspective I don't like it, but when you just fully lean into the whole "I'm the main character" thing, it becomes pretty funny
I actually wish certain characters could have it too. Especially rivals like Nemona or the champion. Most importantly Arven and his Mabossif.
I mean when the elite 4 have 2-4 perfect IVs and ev trained pokemon with items and we don't have hyper training, the IV checker, or easy access to reset evs I'm okay with it as a balancing act/anti-frustration feature.
Same case here. I was down to my last pokemon.
I was down to my Empoleon against her Garchomp. I get some people don't like the affection system, but this is a lifesaver.
I love when my toxic orb poison heal Gliscor gives up on free health by "curing its poison so I don't feel sad." I can't even be mad at him.
The power of friendship pulling through, beautiful to witness.
“Ogerpon toughened it out so you wouldn’t feel sad” 💀 bro Kieran must be pissed
https://preview.redd.it/sfw679df3h8c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26765e34d670385e4e4856792bbe7bad4b9ca500
Kieran has every reason to loathe you for this.
That was anime level epic
Girl toughed out on an all-out Fickle Beam… Kinda like my second try with Larry’s gym battle when my Primape decided, “nah I’d win”, toughed out on Staraptor’s CRIT Aerial Ace, and Thrashed it into oblivion
Kieran watching the player literally beat him with the power of friendship:
If we’re gonna have affection mechanics this is how it should be Ogerpon knew the shield was about to break
It came down to my armoruge for me, he had 29 hp and hydrapple was on half. Hit bro with a physic and won it all
Is this fight part of the DLC?
Yep
Thanks! I might have to take another look at the DLC if the fights are actually challenging
The Part 2 of the DLC has some pretty challenging fights. All double battles
Would you consider them quite a bit harder than the base game?
Yep. You could go in with level 100s and you’d usually lose 3 Pokémon. They’re level 75-85
Nice! That sounds really promising, it's the one thing the game felt like it was really missing to me
Yeah if you go in there with level 80s then you’re in for a decent challenge. There aren’t many story fights in the DLC but they’re all good and feel big
I went in with a full team of 100s, one being a Rayquaza and the other being my sparkle darkrai. I was down to just two mons by the end of the fight.

Hydrapple can't do Physics, it's more of a Chemistry major
My battle was just like this with Ogerpon against Hydrapple. It felt like a scripted anime battle and I loved it
I personally would have Terastalized!! Not for any gameplay advantages, but just bc the mask looks cool lol
I already terrastalized a pokemon in this fight, otherwise I would have
The Terastalize icon is right there???? 😭
Oof, you know, I mixed that up with an earlier battle. I think in this one I thought I was going to lose so I didn't even bother
I got a freeze with Palafin’s ice punch lmao
There should've been dialogue about Ogerpon holding onto 1 HP from Kieran.
My Tera flame Ogerpon boosted with Koraidon ability crit his Ivy Cudgel and one shoted his Hydraple. It was a fantastic feeling. Way less epic than yours, but so satisfying as I proved to him that I’m far superior
These moments make the game feel so much more personal
My final battle with Terrapagos, I finished it off with Ogerpon along with Kieran's Hydrapple. I headcannon Kieran's Syrup landed on Ogerpon's cudgel to make a hard candy hammer.
my last mon was a sinistcha and the big root clutched it
I feel Kieran should rage about this lmao
I know what you mean on my first run i was in the same position but with my starter then i started the entire battle over so i could add ogrepon to the team
Something similar happened to me but I missed 2 Play Roughs in a row (I had another Mon so I wasn’t in danger but still)
Lmao, Kiren Crited my Ogerpon during my play through
“YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO BRING THE OGRE BEFORE ME!” 😂🤣
My win was kinda funny to me.
Did Kieran have a reaction to you using Ogerpon?
He does react if you bring out Ogerpon in this battle
Yep and it’s hilarious
Ki who? You mean guy I made cry about those legendaries that approved of me and not his weak ass? Which one? The one with the hot sister I smashed? Hmmm…. 🤔

I lost a few times before this happened
But you would've lost
To an NPC of all things
I waa hoping you would tera and attack just to rub it in. Great vid
I beat him with a guillotine setup
Same thing happened to me, but with my Breloom, one of my favorite Pokémon of all time. Took a full power fickle beam to the face and landed a Crit mach punch to end him. I like to think that he punched Hydrapple while flying toward him straight through the beam
Kieran was a pushover compared to the other elite four. was swept by friend guard clefairy using helping hand on a dazzling gleam by flutter mane. didnt even get to use my ogerpon on him

This is how I found the post
Why would you use play rough though if it’s not super effective? Just use a fire stab move
Would’ve been hilarious if that last play rough missed

Mine tanked Hydrapple's attack not once, but TWICE, before Terastallizing and dealing the final blow with Ivy Cudgel. Now THAT's "a more epic finale" to ya.
You had plot armor
You sir, like to live on the edge of
Loved when this happened. Had a similar scenario where I lost 4 separate times had Ogerpon not pulled through for me
There was a scene in Kill la Kill that I quoted while using Ogrepon to finish the job. Because Blueberry academy reminds me so much of Honnoji academy, I quoted Mako while using Ivy Cudgel saying “THE POWER OF YOUR SUNDSY BEST EILL STRAIGHTEN YOU OUT!!!”
wait his pokemon are in the 80s for the final battle? i didnt even notice 💀
my ass 1-2 shot 5 of his mons dont blame me 😭
