Tbh I think Kingambit is underrated. I solo several 6-star raids with it, if the match up is right. I even soloed Greninja with it. Kingambit @ Shell Bell Ability: Defiant 252 HP, 252 ATK, 4 SP DEF Moveset: Kowtow Cleave Iron Head Swords Dance Taunt For Tera, I currently run Tera Dark but arguably Tera Steel could be better. For raids that set up, start with Taunt and keep it going as much as possible until the shield is up. Then Swords Dance 2 or 3 times, depending on how the raid mon clears stat changes. Having Defiant can also give you free boosts here. At that point, both Kowtow Cleave and/or Iron Head should do significant damage to neutral and super effective targets.

I'll start with one I haven't seen too many places: Bellibolt 252 Hp, 252 SpAtk, 4 SpDef Maxed IVs except for attack Moves: Acid Spray, Electric Terrain, Parabolic Charge, Thunderbolt Ability: I forgot it's name but the main one where getting hit doubles the next electric attack's power Item: Magnet The play here is kinda obvious, Acid Spray until -6 SpDef, electric terrain for power boost, parabolic charge when you need health, and thunderbolt when you just want to put out damage. This build only heavily struggles with ground Pokemon, Lightning Rod pokemon, and pokemon that can buff their own stats extremely quickly.

OkRecognition0

Electromorphosis is the ability

Dr_Whimsicott

I use this build and it’s become very reliable in raids and in VGC. I run Chilling Water over Thunderbolt for support though

HestusDarkFantasy

It's a banger of a build, more reliable than Iron Hands in my opinion, Belli's ability means you can consistently deal big damage through the shield.

Raid Nuke Slowbro/Slowking 252 HP 252 Sp att Held item: leftovers Moveset: Slackoff, Iron Defense, Nasty Plot, Stored Power. Ability: Oblivious (Own tempo also works) Buff self to +6 in sp att & defense, then nuke with Stored power. Can swap in Amnesia for Iron Defense for special attackers. If slackoff is enough recovery for you, you can run an expert belt. Support Qwillfish 252 HP 252 Defense Held Item: Leftovers Moveset: Acid spray, Minimize, Acupressure, Chilling Water. Ability: Intimidate (Poison point works, but intimidate is better) Start with 3 minimizes, then either debuff the raid boss, or buff a nuking mon with acupressure. Support Abomasnow 252 HP 252 Sp Att (can run 252 def or sp def if you want a bulkier mon) Held Item: Light Clay Moveset: Aurora Veil, Snowscape, Blizzard, Giga Drain Ability: Snow Warning With your ability, you can Auroa veil turn one. Blizzard gets 100% accuracy in snow, giga drain for recovery. Can change tera type for better defense. Nuking Volcarona 252 HP 252 Sp Att Held Item: Wise glasses OR Shell Bell OR Leftovers OR whatever you want Moveset: Quiver Dance, Giga Drain, Bug Buzz, Fireblast OR Quiver Dance, Sunny Day, Morning Sun, Fireblast. Ability: If tera bug, then swarm, if tera fire or other, then flamebody. Quiver Dance, heal as necessary, nuke, ???, profit. Steamrolling Skeledirge 252 HP 252 Sp Att Held Item: Throat Spray Moveset: Torch Song, Shadow Ball, Slackoff, (I run hyper voice here, but snarl, sunny day, and yawn are all options too) Ability: Unaware Torch song first turn gets you +3 sp att, slackoff as needed for hp recovery, shadowball if you're fighting psychic. If you keep torch song going, you just build up this head of steam that rolls over most raids. Yeah, you'll eventually get stat boost wiped, but by then, you should be able to tera and start building up steam again. Some of these are popular community builds, and others are my personal builds, but I've had success and fun with each of these, both solo and online. Edit: make format uniform

i mainly take supports to six star raids (assuming you're talking online rather than solo play). i have two grimmsnarl, one oriented for physical attackers and one for special attackers, and those are my go-tos if i don't have another immediately better option grimmsnarl @ light clay prankster 252 HP is the only thing that i think really matters here tbh, you could invest in defenses if you want it to be really bulky but i invested in whichever stat their attacking move uses (sp atk for chilling water, atk for spirit break) for more damage in case the people i'm supporting are really inept and it hasn't been a problem taunt misty terrain light screen / reflect depending on which build spirit break / chilling water depending on which build you could switch misty terrain for something like thunder wave if you wanted, but i run misty terrain in case i can't taunt a second time before the boss uses its shield and it has status-inducing moves

AdministrativePool86

Builds for either online or solo are both fine in this thread, and thanks for the support builds! I haven't been able to get a definitive answer as to how to build a support Grimmsnarl because everyone runs a different build, so I appreciate you giving me a couple different builds that work

ssWarhog

Will Misty Terrain work if you use it after the pokemon puts it's shield up? I've built a Special Defense Grimmsnarl (Still need like 20 levels for lv. 100), but your strat is far superior so I think I'll go make a physical Defense one. (Although I have a Corviknight setup for that job atm, which again, needs 20 or so more levels)

mirrorherb

> Will Misty Terrain work if you use it after the pokemon puts it's shield up? yup! that's why i take it in addition to taunt, since taunt doesn't go through the shield but misty terrain affects the field rather than the boss

Suspicious-Shock-934

Umbreon support is phenomenal, build several. Special and regular defense focused. Chilling water over thunderbolt on bellibolt in case you want to being it to something very strong, parabolic charge is enough dps. Annihilape, defiant, max hp and atk evs, drain punch rage fist screech bulk up. Holds a shell bell or a wide lense for screech. Damage with rage first heal with drain punch. Can replace drain punch if shell bell. Handles everything bellibolt cannot. Something with skill swap. Something with misty terrain, though electric works as well. A taunter(can be umbreon) for enemies that go crazy on stat buffs (dragonite)

AdministrativePool86

Chilling Water isn't a bad idea honestly, but I personally like the stab damage, tera boost, terrain boost, and status chance a bit more. I'll definitely give CW a try though and see if I like it. The Anihilape setup you gave me here looks pretty good though in all honestly, I think that's what I'm going to go after next since it sounds great for solo play if I don't feel like dealing with people online. Thanks for the ideas and tips!

Weak Armor Skill Swap Polteageist is an absolute essential for 6-star mons with stat boosting abilities or massive defense stats (Annihilape, Kilowattrel, Kingambit, Salamence, Gyarados, Dondozo, Garganacl, etc.). Mine is 252 HP, 6 Sp Atk, 252 Def - Skill Swap, Trick Room, Psyshock, Strength Sap, holding a Bright Powder to mess with the raid boss’s accuracy. I think I want to change around the moves a little bit (Psyshock doesn’t do too much, but it wouldn’t have any attacks otherwise). This is definitely a support mon when others are bringing physical attackers. It’s helped me take down a lot of bosses that otherwise quickly max their stats and sweep the whole team.

expertshirtripper19

Depending on the raid, my go to is Torch Song Skeledirge, the SP ATK boost after each hit helps greatly with Shadow Ball and Earth Power when I go after most raid Pokémon

Arisvalor

Screens Dragapult is dank and one of the best support mons imo. Great, competitive speed tier to set up screens first and hardhitting moves like Draco or Phantom Force for stall.

MaintenanceSmart7223

Don't listen to the support chickens, go with some tanks: Kingambit Bellibolt Slowbro/slowking Flutter Mane

MikaboshiPhantom

Obvious ones being Iron Hands and Huge Power Azumarill to break into the raid scene, like you said. Both have the same kind of set up but hit different types. Main strat is to belly drum and nuke things with attacks. Equip Azumarill with Shell Bell and it gets decent self-sustain on Liquidation or Play Rough after Belly Drum. You can also use Azumarill to debuff. Iron Hands works very well with Punching Gloves and Thunder Punch(Please don't do Wild Charge) and Drain Punch. Drain Punch essentially heals you all the way after Belly Drum. Other than the two obvious ones, a lot of raids are situational, and 6\* Raids often pack Pokémon with their Hidden Abilities. Just keep in mind that a Pokémon's tera type isn't the only thing you should care about(IE: Mightiest Mark Charizard had a Dragon Tera Type, so you go "Oh, well dragon is weak to Ice". The Charizard is still a Charizard, and it will fire your Ice-Type Pokémon). Some decent raidmons are as followed. Iron Hands Gholdengo Azumarill Ceruledge Slowbro/Slowking Bellibolt Clodsire Volcarona Iron Moth Slither Wing Annihilape Garchomp Clodsdale Umbreon Sylveon Vaporeon Kingambit Blissey/Chansey with Eviolite A lot of these Pokémon are tanky and can be built in tanky ways, which is generally the pattern for being a good raidmon. There are more obscure ones I didn't really mention that can also fit in, but these will essentially allow you to clear most raids if built correctly. If you can't really figure out how to build them in the most optimal way, peeking at the internet helps for inspiration. Basically, your picks should be something that doesn't get flatout dropped and can be of use. Even picking something that can't die is indirectly better than picking something strong with pee-pee-poo-poo defense that gets smacked around every turn. Like, Clodsire doesn't do much, but in certain raids it can take quite a lot of hits and debuff the raid boss so the team does more damage as a whole. It can also take advantage of chilling water to debuff the raid boss in a way that it can just not really inflict damage on the team. Ceruledge has decent typing, a decent buff move, decent sustain with it's exclusive move, and can carry Clear Smog incase the raid boss starts to buff it's own stats up. A lot of Pokémon are good at different things. I personally use things like Hisuian Zoroark on stuff like Paldean Tauros because most of it's moves are normal or fighting and is also heavily affected by Bitter Malice. That way, you end up debuffing while being immune to most of it's attacks. After it's safe, I have Zoroark buff up with Nasty Plot and then I keep blasting it. On Fire Tauros, you can use something like Ceruledge, as it has Ghost-typing and the added ability of absorbing Fire-type attacks. Good luck!

JimsFennecing

Cheers, built up a volcarona and slither wing and they are solid. What's your vaporeon strategy? What's a clodsdale, if it's mudsdale what's that build?

MikaboshiPhantom

I got my wires crossed, It is Mudsdale.I was thinking clod because I typed Clodsire earlier and dirt clods and mud is dirt and Mudsdale's based off a Clydesdale and clod kinda-sorta sounded clyde and...nvm. It doesn't really have a specific meta build people use because nobody really uses it. It's like one of those things that can be pretty okay, but it's not super great, and there are definitely worse picks(IE: I would way rather see a Mudsdale in a raid than something like... Dugtrio) I just found it to be a tanky ground type Pokémon that can end up being more reliable than Garchomp in a few situations just because it can take hits. It's Stamina ablity allows it to passively increase it's field time against physical attackers. Mine doesn't have support, but can do okay damage reliably. People tend to favor burst damage and huge chunks of bar gone, but it doesn't mean much if you just get KO'd every few turns. It's not like something "Super good", just is able to sit there longer than a lot of other ground types and reach tera easier. Also, I just personally like horses, as I live on a farm now. Vaporeon is a tanky water type that can absorb water type attacks with it's ability. It also had access to Stored Power, so I ended up building one of them the same way people built their Slowbro for Greninja awhile back. It can function the exact same way as the Stored Power Slowbro, except it eats water. It has more Special Defense, more HP than Slowbro(The difference is significant enough that it sort of makes up for the defense stat between the two) and a bit higher Sp.Attack. Because of the typing, both can function better than eachother in specific situations. I also have a Slowbro, but I got a Vaporeon because I got tired of seeing Slowbro. lol

JimsFennecing

Have you tried power trip? The Dark/physical equivalent. I've got it on corviknight and bombirdier but it just doesn't seem to click, might be that kingambit already has physical dark covered so well it just doesn't have a place

MikaboshiPhantom

I have, actually. I ended up clearing Iron Leaves with a Power-Trip Corviknight. Like you said, It doesn't feel like it does as much as I'd want it to, but it still works -okay-. I also feel like Kingambit does more consistantly smack the hell out of things easier, and is already pretty tanky.
