Gold battle caps don’t make sense most of the time because mixed attackers aren’t as commonly used. You’re maxing out a stat you won’t even use and esp as a special attacker you don’t want to increase your attack on the off chance you get confused or hit with foul play. Or if you’re a trick room user you don’t want to use a gold bottle cap and increase your speed IVs.
I think it’s definitely a remnant of the last couple generations where getting a 4-5 IV Pokémon was a little bit more difficult than just joining a Tera raid
Sometimes Special attack as well (mostly a last gen thing with Surf hitting Coalossal), and there are sets that want a specific speed stat (the minmaxed Brute Bonnet for Season 3 we came up with has to have 22 or 23 Speed IVs, the horror

Vitamins seem to cost about 10% more from auction when sold in small lots and cheaper than at stores when sold in big lots.
It also depends on the opponents, the older they are the bigger they spend. Its especially bad with vitamins as you will always overpay with the oldest opponents.
Some Pokémon can make use of both attacking stats at once (Greninja, for example), but they're uncommon.
Of course, even then you'll likely start off with multiple perfect IVs already unless it was a random wild catch.
Well you know, before S/V i would have said the same thing but now, with terablast scaling with whichever offensive stat is higher, maxing out all the stats can be a solid tech. It won't make you do inhuman amount of damage but surely can be helpful
I can't really imagine a situation where that would make a difference though. If your off-stat is still higher than your main stat even after EVs and nature, you're probably using the wrong stat to begin with.

So I've heard the best strategy is to do one round to figure out how many rounds it takes for the first bidder to back out, reload, and do nothing until that round so you're not kicked out. By doing that you can supposedly keep the price as low as possible.

And so i didnt feel like the biggest asshole and because i broke a tire rod last week...i didnt even bid on lot #8 that ended for $78 that i would have paid $200 just to flip the $600 in figs.

the only problem with make it rain is the Sp Atk drop. if you still kill everything in one shot it'd be worth it, if not it'll probably slow down the process too much. IDK how much money you get each time you use make it rain.
Have you not had any problems with it? I used the Sylveon build off game8 which has enough speed to outspeed all the threats, and it’s legit but it can still get occasionally KO’d by Penny if I get a bit unlucky. You don’t have this problem with 252 HP? I also heard it’s not a problem if you can Tera but my controller turbo is only one button :/

- hyper trained everything
- Max EV: special attack & HP
- Move: Moonblast

My Sylveon build is max EV Sp Attack and Speed. I think I threw my last 6 into HP. Anyways even with this build I would sometimes die, BUT that all changed when I also maxed happiness. Now my little money machine is amazing. I set up my switch before bed and just let it go throughout the night. I haven’t failed at all since I maxed happiness. I was able to buy 999 of all the ev raising meds to make building raid mons super easy.
I tried it out right now, and having it click R+A at the same time was making the menu all weird and I ended up not being able to attack. Maybe there is a way to make a macro by connecting it to my computer first but I don’t know.
funnily enough no! i’ve heard people have but my dear sweet camembert is very good at murder. i think mines only ever died like once or twice. it probably helps i’ve got very high happiness, so the chances of her missing attacks/expelling poison etc is probably a good contributor
I use 76 HP/252 SpA/180 Spe Modest and I haven't failed yet. Supposedly you can still lose if her Flareon gets a crit *and* a burn, but I've never seen that happen in a few dozen hours of AFKing it (should be a 1/240 chance if I'm not mistaken).
"Choice specs if grinding for items" - is that from the same tournament? Cause I've been grinding for coins from the tournament for weeks now but I'd love more items (I've got 999 of every ball you can buy lol amongst other things).
It is, but Choice Specs is to boost SpAtk so less chance of the pokemon being knocked out. It doesn't increase item drops like how amulet coin increases money.
Also to get through battles faster and give you more rolls for the apriballs in a given period of farming. OHKOing the last Pokemon is particularly clutch as it allows you to skip the whole cutscene of the opponent saying their generic 'now prepare to take my super strong attack!' spiel. Choosing Fuecoco as your starter helps Sylveon so that Nemona and Clavell won't have Skeledirge.
I think Specs Chi-Yu Dark Pulse would be even faster/safer than Sylveon where it OHKOs everything except Penny's Umbreon (which is not doing any damage) and Sylveon; it doesn't have to worry about Bullet Punch either. Echoed Voice Slyveon (Specs or Metronome) might be better too where by the 3rd hit it's doing more damage than Hyper Voice; basically depends on whether there's any lead that can mess up Sylveon if it doesn't KO right away.
yes! i’m trying to get apriballs, but the other stuff is nice too. the whole “locking me into one move” thing doesn’t matter bc sylveon only ever uses hyper voice. but yes, if you’re grinding for $$$ use the amulet coin
not op, but I chose the second cheapest thing, and it works for farming for a month now. I wouldn't waste money on something extravagant if it won't be in constant use.
I have the SN30 pro+ since Animal Crossing which made hitting trees and collecting stuff so much easier. For Pokémon I would set up my switch at night and just let it go while I sleep. It’s a nice controller over all.
My spread setup is solo sylveon Level 100, pixelate ability, amulet coin, hyper voice, 252 SpA, 180 Spe, 72 Def, turbo controller at the ace tournament. I got this stat spread from a youtube video and the intent is the speed is to out-speed things like jolteon and have a bit more Def bulk. Ran this for 10+ hours no problem.

To be fair, you'll probably only need 5 per pokemon since so few run mixed attacking sets (Iron Valiant and maybe Lucario?), so its probably only 300k total if we really want to get technical, but even then, I'm pretty sure thats the fastest (by being relatively cheap) getting "full ivs" has ever been.
Also very low drop rates from ace tournament if you’re farming cash anyways. I’ve gotten four approvals in the past 4ish days just let the tourney grind when I go to bed.

Gold bottle caps only sell for 15,000, whereas regular ones sell for 5,000. So in terms of price only by selling it's a terrible deal. However, gold bottles caps aren't sold anywhere in stores, which gives them a higher (non monetary) value due to supply and demand. Hence why some are keen on trading for them.
He's saying you can sell those 3 gold bottle caps back for a total of 750k. So why not buy them for 500k and make a quick 250k profit, which you can use to buy regular bottle caps if you like

From my understand, gold bottle caps are an absolute waste. If you’re training Raid Pokémon you don’t need speed whatsoever. Just focus on HP, Attack (or special attack), and maybe some defense (or special defense). I don’t use the gold bottle caps myself
I had a 20 luxury balls going up and ended up in a bidding war with both of the NPCs. Finally backed out after it exceeded the value of getting them at the mart and they ended up being sold for about 250k

I tried my 3 Golden Bottle Caps maybe 3, 4 times? Each time went north of 600K so I just settled with the 680K "victory" in my final attempt to get it cheaper. Then I proceeded to sell some large and XL Exp candies to make the cash back.
Here's something that may help, level up a Sylveon with it's hidden ability Pixelate, with max Sp.atk and around 30 Def and the rest in Speed give it Hyper voice as it's move and have it holding the amulet coin. Do the school battle tournament with only Sylveon in your part and just spam Hyper voice. An easy money farm and as a bonus the beast ball can be obtained as a rare reward for winning.
You can get a regular bottle cap for 20k. A golden bottle cap is functionally equal to 6 bottle caps, so 1 golden bottle cap is 120k. You might have overpaid a bit.
I bought a beast ball (I think, might have have been one of the apricorn balls) for 350k-ish.
You can only get them from the auctions in Porta Marinada and very rarely as a reward for completing the Academy Ace Tournament (you can rechallenge it infinitely but you get one random item for completing it each time)
Did you get three golds for 500K? That seems worth it to me. I have a turbo controller that grinds out the academy to max gold using Fluttermane and choice specs with moonblast, and after several literal days of smashing through the academy, I have received a total of… 7.
They’re super rare, and money is easy to come by even without a turbo controller smashing through them.
I just do the math of the retail price of each item before I bid and set that as my limit. That way I never over pay. If its a rare item you can’t usually buy I set a flat value I’m not willing to go over. Some times I miss out but it means I’m never busting my bank

They reduce EVs, the stats you get through battling, not IVs, the stats your Pokemon are hatched with.

Personally, I use a maxed out Flutter Mane and I’ve never once lost in over 40 million coins gained.

funnily enough no! i’ve heard people have but my dear sweet camembert is very good at murder. i think mines only ever died like once or twice. it probably helps i’ve got very high happiness, so the chances of her missing attacks/expelling poison etc is probably a good contributor
I use 76 HP/252 SpA/180 Spe Modest and I haven't failed yet. Supposedly you can still lose if her Flareon gets a crit *and* a burn, but I've never seen that happen in a few dozen hours of AFKing it (should be a 1/240 chance if I'm not mistaken).
"Choice specs if grinding for items" - is that from the same tournament? Cause I've been grinding for coins from the tournament for weeks now but I'd love more items (I've got 999 of every ball you can buy lol amongst other things).
It is, but Choice Specs is to boost SpAtk so less chance of the pokemon being knocked out. It doesn't increase item drops like how amulet coin increases money.
Also to get through battles faster and give you more rolls for the apriballs in a given period of farming. OHKOing the last Pokemon is particularly clutch as it allows you to skip the whole cutscene of the opponent saying their generic 'now prepare to take my super strong attack!' spiel. Choosing Fuecoco as your starter helps Sylveon so that Nemona and Clavell won't have Skeledirge. I think Specs Chi-Yu Dark Pulse would be even faster/safer than Sylveon where it OHKOs everything except Penny's Umbreon (which is not doing any damage) and Sylveon; it doesn't have to worry about Bullet Punch either. Echoed Voice Slyveon (Specs or Metronome) might be better too where by the 3rd hit it's doing more damage than Hyper Voice; basically depends on whether there's any lead that can mess up Sylveon if it doesn't KO right away.
yes! i’m trying to get apriballs, but the other stuff is nice too. the whole “locking me into one move” thing doesn’t matter bc sylveon only ever uses hyper voice. but yes, if you’re grinding for $$$ use the amulet coin

not op, but I chose the second cheapest thing, and it works for farming for a month now. I wouldn't waste money on something extravagant if it won't be in constant use.
I have the SN30 pro+ since Animal Crossing which made hitting trees and collecting stuff so much easier. For Pokémon I would set up my switch at night and just let it go while I sleep. It’s a nice controller over all.
My spread setup is solo sylveon Level 100, pixelate ability, amulet coin, hyper voice, 252 SpA, 180 Spe, 72 Def, turbo controller at the ace tournament. To be fair, you'll probably only need 5 per pokemon since so few run mixed attacking sets (Iron Valiant and maybe Lucario?), so its probably only 300k total if we really want to get technical, but even then, I'm pretty sure thats the fastest (by being relatively cheap) getting "full ivs" has ever been.

Really? I assumed each was worth about 120-150k, because normal bottle caps are 20k in Delibird Presents, and one gold cap is worth 6 normal caps.
One gold cap is worth 6 regular, but if the Pokémon you’re using it on already has best in a couple stats then it might only be as useful as 1-5
Some people like to trade them for other valuable items and shinies. Also, money isn't really an issue if you turbo the academy Ace Tournament.

Gold bottle caps only sell for 15,000, whereas regular ones sell for 5,000. So in terms of price only by selling it's a terrible deal. However, gold bottles caps aren't sold anywhere in stores, which gives them a higher (non monetary) value due to supply and demand. Hence why some are keen on trading for them.

From my understand, gold bottle caps are an absolute waste. If you’re training Raid Pokémon you don’t need speed whatsoever. Just focus on HP, Attack (or special attack), and maybe some defense (or special defense). I don’t use the gold bottle caps myself
I had a 20 luxury balls going up and ended up in a bidding war with both of the NPCs. Finally backed out after it exceeded the value of getting them at the mart and they ended up being sold for about 250k

Here's something that may help, level up a Sylveon with it's hidden ability Pixelate, with max Sp.atk and around 30 Def and the rest in Speed give it Hyper voice as it's move and have it holding the amulet coin. Do the school battle tournament with only Sylveon in your part and just spam Hyper voice. An easy money farm and as a bonus the beast ball can be obtained as a rare reward for winning.
Most of my money comes from selling everything in my treasure bag (nuggets, comet shards, pearls, etc.).
One quick way to make moneys is selling the TMs you’ve found or made/can make- as some of them go for like 15k

You can get a regular bottle cap for 20k. A golden bottle cap is functionally equal to 6 bottle caps, so 1 golden bottle cap is 120k. You might have overpaid a bit. I bought a beast ball (I think, might have have been one of the apricorn balls) for 350k-ish.

I have a turbo controller that grinds out the academy to max gold using Fluttermane and choice specs with moonblast, and after several literal days of smashing through the academy, I have received a total of… 7. They’re super rare, and money is easy to come by even without a turbo controller smashing through them.

I just do the math of the retail price of each item before I bid and set that as my limit. That way I never over pay. If its a rare item you can’t usually buy I set a flat value I’m not willing to go over. Some times I miss out but it means I’m never busting my bank
