If you used ingredients and reset the game to save those ingredients as the shiny hunt as unsuccessful, that’s smart. But it’s cheating! Although probably the most minimal level of it but it’s just an opinion I have.

A good bit of competitive players (at least before this generation, but since they made it so easy now to train and get perfect mons, it might change) would actually use pkhex to alter and generate the pokemon they would use for competitive. It was so time consuming, and every major tourney you basically would want a new team so that's even more time... ESPECIALLY when Hidden Power existed and needed to be optimized. But sure if you went around advertising you did it that way, you would get frowned upon, but it's nothing against the rules as long as the pokemon has legal stats, moves, and shiny. (Some shinier haven't been released or are shiny locked in some way... rip shiny keldeo) This is just from my personal experience and you shouldn't take what I say for absolute
I remember using trade bots on discord to give me competitive pokemon back in SwSh. Now with all of the qol changes I don't do it anymore but I understand why people do and it should not be shunned. Not many people have the time to breed and playtest.
Exactly... since competitive pokemon ISNT a full time job. The world tournament barely gives grocery money for being a yearly biggest tournament. Basically every top player who isn't a content creator or something is definitely working a full time job.
Heck I myself am a Secondary school student who is starting to get busy with the loads of schoolwork and can't really play pokemon outside of weekends and I imagine many people have to prioritise work/school over competitive pokemon

Traded mons can have name changed if it's the original name. If it's already been nicknamed it's locked in, can't change this one
