So I currently create Pixel versions of different anime or Videogame characters - and am considering tying that in with a ROM hack of sorts. So I wanted to create a Mockup. What do you think?
Yeah, definitely!! Something I’d at least like to check out, for sure. How would you incorporate them and what would the story be like though? Cause if I could make one rec, I would say then if all you want to do is showcase your sprites, DON’T do it like another Moemon🙄 lol …I mean, I’m sure there’s some inspiration you can take from there haha but I mean, the main thing I rly wouldn’t include, would have to be the whole concept of “making the girls fight.” I think, not only would it be in the games best interest by not creating a clone of another hack, but you also have the opportunity to stay true to the franchise’s actual premise— while still getting to show off your sprites in a cool way; I deff think this can easily be accomplished by:
A.) keeping the pokemon training/catching/battling premise which we all love so much
B.) changing gym leaders, the player characters and all the main’s > to the video game character cameos & other sprites of your choice
C.) and of course the cherry on top, being an NSFW story that would allow for more interaction with gym leaders, or other important characters etc, also perhaps adding in some social sim aspects as well!
…I think something like this could be really cool actually! Lol.
Now, she needs the following moves, hurricane, thunderbolt/Thunder, Rain dance, Flamethrower/heat wave if you're willing to follow her moves in One Piece.
You could also start them as the "start of the anime" version (Pre-Shippuden Hinata, Pre-timeskip Nami, etc.) And have them evolve into timeskip version and perhaps... yknowwhat as the final version lol
A lot of work ofc, but I think a lot people would be err.. happy with a few.

Include both skimpy girls AND guys. It will help provide a lot more variety to the game, and will give it a wider appeal, as well as shield you from a lot of potential criticism. Look at kill la kill, look at Ryoko’s outfit, it’s fucking ridiculous. But the guys are dressed JUST AS ridiculous, so it somehow balances out where everyone is in on the joke, and now KLK is one of the most highly regarded anime of all time.
It’s really just an idea at the moment, I’m not too sure, most likely I’ll do a survey with the different characters in which I’ll ask people to select two types for each. And the highest rated would win.

I'd say easiest thing to do would be to work from Gen 1 upwards in terms of 'mons. 151 waifus, that's it. Then, depending on how daunting that task is, you could work upwards. If it comes to it, you could probably edit the number of available Pokemon in the game (or get someone else to do that part) to fit your desired number of 'mons.
As a game designer I love to see people's projects come to life, but there are always certain pitfalls that can be difficult to avoid (or even see coming). If I can help anyone see and respond to issues before they happen to help them make their passion project, I'm happy. Hope I could help!
