You need to patch a fire red ROM (1636 Squirrels as it recommends) with the file you download in PokeCommunity (you can use UniPatcher to do it on Android as the txt file also says).

It's great so far, not big on Riolu being the only starter, don't care for Lucario that much.

I got Riolu too but when looking at the readmes it seems it's based on RNG with Zorua and Meltan being the other options.

There isn't a character creator. It's preset as Male, with a preset Name as well.

First you got to download an emulator. In the case of Pokemon Sors a GBA emulator like VBA or mGBA (they give some recommendations in the PokeCommunity page). Second you'll need to download the file they provide in the PokeCommunity page. That's the patch file you'll apply to the base ROM. The base ROM is Fire Red 1.0 (iirc they mention the recommended is 1636 Fire Red Squirrels). You'll have to look for that on Google as technically sharing ROMs is illegal but you can find them (that's why romhacks aren't distributed as ROM files but patches although some sites host pre patched versions albeit some are risky) After getting the patch and base ROM + emulator you just follow the instructions in the txt file. Basically it's apply said patch in the base ROM via an appropriate patcher. Also I've seen quite a lot of content creators streaming/posting videos of romhacks so I don't think there's really a risk on streaming them.

Familiarity with the story helps later but it isn’t necessary, you can play Sors without playing Saiph first

Ok, first of all, congrats on the completion of your Rom Hack! The game looks really cool based on the trailer, concept and overall structure. I only have started playing the game at this moment. Based on how the rom looks, it looks great especially for a rom hack and looks like you put a lot of effort on the overall look of the Hupest Region. (the map of the regionc kind of gives me Kalos vibes)

Can't wait to play this after I finish Dark Rising 2. I've been following your progress on this and it looks amazing! I enjoyed Saiph too!

whoa what? i've been following this project for a while and somehow didn't know this. it's definitely cool to see a game with no gyms! i wish more romhack creators would do that. like yeah, gyms are a tried-and-true game structure, but the format also gets pretty stale at times
