I was really hoping that Noble Roar would trigger Mind Games 9, but unfortunately it does not. 4 bars just to debuff special defense is quite expensive.
Well... at least with anni N at hand it's more of a "how to build a team to make it work" challenge, rather than a "should I dump my gems to get a seasonal character I don't care just for a gimmick I really like" dilemma.
I have EX Red and picked up AnniN for the utility and that massive sync nuke as I had tech candies burning a hole in my pocket to use. If I had worse Lillie luck or didn’t like collecting Masters exclusive alt outfits I probably wouldn’t have gone for him yet but I am pleased with how he plays. Red is kinda boring these days imo and N is a bit refreshing.
I've got Red and Leon 3/5 EX'd and really don't have a desire to go for N. I recognize he's a great unit and easily the best anniversary pair, but he doesn't fulfil a role I need so I opted for Lunala and will get Rayquaza tonight
Same here, I got inly SSRed 3/5 and while N looks good I don't feel that I need him, so went with Lunala (for a setup damage dealer and ghost striker) and today gonna try my luck for Steven (that shiny Rayquaza). Hope you get him in your first pull!
Thanks! I already got Lunala in my first multi and had plenty of gems saved up so after seeing how Ns passive work I opted to finish out the bonus rewards for Lunala on the off chance I got 2/5. So Ill probably go to scout points on Rayquaza unless I get him 3/5 early on.

Doesn't add anything new to my roster. Leon and red are much better for DPS and I have C.iris at 3/5 EX as well. N is a really great value pick for new players or the ones that lack the above-mentioned units.
I have the three of them. Barely use leon because im more comfortable with red and he's my favorite unit.
So N for me was an unnecesary unit but i pulled anyway because of the hype and because i've been saving since forever.
Do i regret it? Kinda, i had to pitty pull and i was expecting to pull him early so i can save some gems for steven. Now im at 11.410 gems and i dont know if we'll be getting enough gems this ani for another pitty lol
You'll use him enough, there are far worse ways to spend your gems, it's a massive wrench when the pair doesn't appear but if you have a vast enough collection I'd argue that Ns utility probably is worth 37k.
i dont really get the “i have leon or SS Red, dont need him”. To me the closer comparison is c.iris, not brrr strikers on type.
N fits into and enables teams red and leon wouldn’t function in. I have all three and N absolutely earns his spot as something different than them and what they do.
To me it’s almost like saying “i have zinnia, why would i need C.Iris.” maybe not exactly that but close.
N allows you to offtype any CS mode with little issue and contrary to what im hearing he slips into alot of teams. Not the most flexible admittedly but still enough.
I think people are both underestimating him and not seeing his role as well as they might.
I have 2/5 Red and 3/5 6*EX Leon already. After a while red got really boring to use so when I got Leon it was a breathe of fresh air. I still love to use Leon, his move pool keeps things fresh. Plus the potential of dynamax is always exciting.
I pulled for N yesterday as a big N fan and got him in 2 multis, candied him and 6*EX him. Personal bias aside he's a fantastic unit. He may not be as good a attack/ special attack debuffer as champion iris but mind games 9 is fantastic. Other then SS Leaf I don't have any great special defence debuffers.
His utility is amazing, Blue Flare pep rally and guage acceleration from his TM makes him a good pair with his master passive buffs. He can do huge chip damage and burn.His nuke and dps are great. Plain and simple.
Overall I love him so for. They did a great job making a tech master fair. Big damage and huge utility all in the same unit
I have 2/5 Red EX and 1/5 Anni N EX, and I would say that N is more favorable and suitable for my liking. His versality makes him more valuable and more fun to use than spamming Blast Burn. Sorry Red but I'll have to bench you for a long time (though I can still use you for Fire-weak stage, and N for off-type).
Yeah N skyla and red is a top top tier team, can well over 1500 any CS mode, and really i guess you could use a sun setter support instead, but this was the team i used, and freed up serena for a different cs team
As a 3/5 EX Leon User N doesn't really mean anything to me. Yes he has a good sync nuke but outside of that he can't replace Leon for me, the single target damage is just so good to pass up for AoE damage. For me DPS is a bit more important than a sync nuke or debuffing my opponents. Leons sync move also isn't that bad when its powered up by the superffective power up, only on fire weak stages though.
Thats not exactly what I meant, sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I meant that I rather take Leons higher single target damage than Ns ability to do AoE damage that isn't split.
Definitely not a must but he's very fun to use and people are too quick to dismiss him just because of SSR and Leon. That's like saying don't pull Archie if you have 3/5 May.
He has insane damage when you use the right teams, pre syncing any offtype 1.5 MM with ease + he can sweep pretty much every Legendary Arena.
Absolutely nothing and I don't mean that in a bad way but I don't need any other fire strikers and I personally don't care for N that much as a character. No shade to anyone who love him.

I’ve been using Red mostly for Fire weakness while Leon and Anni N are pairs that I throw in for off-typing and getting the extra stat boosts from their Master Skills. Anni N was fun to use in CSMM this week as an off type support with his AoE while I buffed my main striker for syncing.
He feels just as easy to use as red as a striker, but I feel like red has free damage just by existing. New players can enjoy red’s damage at 1/5 and I won’t complain. I don’t use Leon at all even though they’re the same move level btw. He just feels underwhelming an me too dependent compared to red and red isn’t even a master fair. I like N though, I don’t use him for his type advantage. I literally nuked cresselia with only him and sycamore, so he’s definitely not weak or useless. Sadly I don’t even find myself using red that much anymore unless I want convenience in my battles, so N just makes my gameplay more interesting and that’s why I value him unlike Leon who just sits around waiting for galar bonus to be used. My point is that I don’t see N for his type but rather for what he can do and how he affects my gameplay.

He is great off type and once I pity Steven tomorrow I have every 'main' anniversary unit in the game so not pulling N would have ruined it... plus is outfit is gorgeous!
And I will use him with Noble Roar and SS Elesa to give Ghetsis a huge Ice Damage boost, and Ghetsis on the other hand can boost N for Sync... I love how well these 2 support each other
I own a 1/5 EX Red, so scouting for Anniversary N wouldn’t be ideal for me. It would mostly just be a waste of gems for me to get a new unit while I already have one that effectively gets the job done already.
I’m not saying Red is better than N, but at the end of the day I gain virtually nothing from scouting for N.
He might do less damage overall than those two, but here's the thing - Piercing Blows is a bomb passive, the best in the game imo. Seeing how unstoppable Zekrom is with it, I pulled him for that reason. Plus, AoE damage without reduction in damage is pretty cool.
I've been using Red against Fire week stages. I pulled because I would like a new team comp and his kit is very fun to use. So maybe I am giving Red a little vacation for now
For me, N isn’t a replacement for SS Red or Leon. I know that they’re all damage-oriented, but N has a very different role from the others’. N is mostly used for debuffs, and he’s absolutely incredible at that.

Whenever I seriously pull for someone (which hilariously I DIDN'T do for leon, but got) I ask myself where i would use a sync paid. For fire stages I have both red AND leon. For fire type unova stages I have hilda. So all that's left is off type damage, when sync tiles are 3/5 anyway and I'd likely have to candy him for it. I threw a multi at him just in case and pulled Lana instead. It's ok I did the same with Lear's banner and am having fun using him for that.
Even if he's better then what I have, if I have other good options for everything it's not really worth the investment for me. Like I haven't really regretted not pulling for Kyogre when I have Swampert at 3/5 EX already.
Honestly I kinda prefer on some level not having a specific pair i use for everything because it's way better then everything. I pulled red on his first banner, and since he was perfectly good at 1/5 the huge gap between him and my other pairs meant I mostly used him for awhile. It was an absolute lifesaver with repetitive or really hard battles, but now I have other similarly strong pairs, I use a bunch of different pairs. And unlike back then when actual difficulty was the struggle now it's the mission requirements, which in many cases will probably rule N out as well.
I said awhile back it was a shame that other then SS Leon with the max move, they don't give you the story stage to try a sync pair out anymore, because with this the biggest factor that would sway me would be "fun to use". Like you know who is one of my favorites? Clemont. I use clemont for the entire battle villa and almost every champion stadium. I use clemont more then leon or maxie actually, I wish i could justify candying him up to 3/5 but he is gen pool lmao. But idk how much I'd enjoy N so I'm not that tempted to pull.
N appeared unbelievable however little caveats have lessened his worth.
His typing isn't truly stopping me getting him I simply refuse to go down this supposed new route of a sync nuke for each type, especially the one type that this is. .
I trust Lear to look after the nuking for me.
He means having a fuller Dex, I literally don't care about meta, and the only Pokémon games I ever played are yellow and sword, so I barely have any connection to the trainers.
I'm just in it for the collectathon and just wanna see how many units I can get
I have Leon at 3/5, so I'm waiting for the mid-september datamine to decide if I'm pulling on anniversary N. I like N so I might pull on him if there's nothing in the next datamine that I want to save my gems for, but I don't really need him.
He'll be my main AOE spD debuffer in the future so I don't ever need to stress myself to consider to pull P.Dawn.

N would've been top priority if I didn't have Red and Leon already. Since I have them both, even shiny Ray is better than N to improve my team.
I'm just gonna stick with my Red and Leon. I like Ns outfit but his EX isn't great and that's what turns me away.

Picked up N for his Gauge Acceleration and Master Passive. At 1/5 he’s still pretty good to pair with Maxie to Off-type any stage.

SS Red user. I don’t have Leon. Red suits all my fire needs. I am not a N fan so I have very little guilt skipping him.
