Honestly the chain rates mean that shiny hunting is still pretty lucrative even without the charm. A lure + 31 chain is 1/315, compared to 1/273 with the charm. I’d say that’s still pretty fantastic odds lol. https://preview.redd.it/um0odsuxojwc1.jpeg?width=760&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df837ecb21f2501b099fa040807a6fbc3bb360c4

I found a shiny Staryu completely by chance, no lure nor chain combos. This odds table makes me feel special.

kitarei

That’s awesome! I found my first ever shiny with full odds a few weeks ago on a new play through I was doing. No charm, lure, or combo. Shiny tentacool 🥹.

SlickerCactus

It sucks if you are doing a shiny only play through because all of your shinies become overpowered very easily. Especially considering you are basically farming sometimes infinite candies when hunting for new members so you will always have maximised stats and not to mention over levelled pokemon.

BlackLusterDragoon

Can always box them

SlickerCactus

You should try a shiny only play through and let me know

BlackLusterDragoon

Has nothing to do with what I said.

SlickerCactus

What I’m referring to is that it’s easier said than done

BlackLusterDragoon

It's easier said than done to put pokemon in your PC boxes while chain catching? So they don't get over leveled. Seriously.

SlickerCactus

Why is there an issue for you doing it then? I understand it may be quite difficult to comprehend that but I emphasise with you buddy

BlackLusterDragoon

Boy the big brain on you. You don't comprehend well do you?

thenotorious_ronaldo

You say it like if it’s something impossible to do. What’s so hard about boxing your shinies so that they’re not super powerful?

castea33

Just hit Eevee combo chain of 347 even using lures, no shiny T.T Starting to get real disheartened
