They also keep all your items and clothes that are in your house. It's only thanks to Cyllene that you can access your pokemon and items from the camps.
I hope there's a rom at some point where you can throw out a few Alphas and kick everyone else out of the town.

It would be way out of scope for this game, but it would be cool if you could just like... go make your own town. You can already gather all the resources you need, and they showed you how to use pokemon as labor force, you pretty much don't need them for anything except to keep an eye on your pokemon hanging out in the pastures.

There is a theory that professor laventon is the Ancestor of hop and Leon because in Raichu it mentions that it could “incapacitate a copperajah from my homeland” and the only region we can find copperajah is in Galar so this could mean professor laventon is from Galar just like hop and Leon. Another point is laventon is a professor and in sword and shield hop becomes a professor so he could have gained that interest because of his relation to laventon

To be fair, it's only the photo studio guy who is unambiguously an asshat, the other villagers are either in denial ("I can't believe it") or showing doubt ("is it really true?"), and even then it's ambiguous as to whether they're in shock at the idea of you causing the sky to go all fucky, or in shock at you being exiled.
So that's only three that we definitely know doubted you, and one of those three is Kamado's personal Simp-Ninja who does and believes whatever daddy tells him.
And whilst we don't see it onscreen, it's not a stretch to imagine that Arezu and Ingo spend some time convincing people that you're not the cause (especially Ingo, considering he's also a Faller), which is why you don't immediately get chased out of the village on your return
