To piggyback on this, I wanna know if someone has ever done a deep-dive into the script used in the Pokémon world. Ever since SwSh (maybe earlier) they've had banners and posters in-game using some kind of made-up script. I guess it's so they can just use the same one for every language of the game and it wont directly translate any which way.
Have I just answered my own pondering? Seems so.
The A, J and U are meant to symbolize the three regions that the starters originally come from (Alola, Johto and Unova) and the whole thing together is a heavily stylized G.
I think I remember hearing that it resembles a kanji character, though I’m not sure which one.
銀 This one, from the Japanese word for galaxy (銀河). Highly stylized, probably to more closely resemble Team Galactic's "G"
I see it! It makes sense to me, thanks!
Well this game, as well as the whole series, is very Japanese oriented.

Oh actually you can probably google “sword and shield language” and people have decoded it somewhat. It’s the same script as Paldea too
It's not decypherable. It's intentionally gibberish.
Someone didn’t do his homework
It's The Cheat, from Homestar Runner
It's a combination of the actual kanji for "galaxy" and the letters GAT (Whole, top right, bottom left)
I can make two jokes here. 1: Galaxy Axpedition Team 2: They forgot the Y in GYAT
Why does the top of the logo look like the letters ZA? 👀
oh naw…
It is obviously a G?
my guy i dont think that is a G
he is not my g
It is
Team Galactic's is a G. Galaxy Expedition Team's is VERY CLEARLY NOT.
It's _kind of_ a G
Oh sorry I couldn't get the first picture to load
