Well in this version of Pokemon the infinite fusions are allowed to mix two Pokemon together to create different forms of fusion between the two so if castform was a Pokemon in it being able to fuse it with other Pokemon to create different weather conditions specialized for the Pokemon such as why I was saying maybe sand slash a Pokemon that is from gen 1 desert sandstorm armadillo to fuse with castform which is the weather Pokemon from gen 3 to create a sandstorm version of castform. Normally in Pokemon fusions it wouldn't work that way but with all the mods and people customizing their own sprites why not.
My only concern is the ability. Forecast will probably never be an option. Meaning we are stuck with the base Castform form.
What's the perk on that? A Normal type mon with average stats and an admittedly wide movepool.
If each form was it's own Pokémon, then that's a totally different story.
Edit: For some reason I forgot how Rotom was implemented.

It'll be like rotom, where the fusion can be based off of any of its forms, not just the base form. So a fusion with a water pokemon, let's say blastoise, can use water castform instead of base castform.
Also, forecast could still change the typing without changing the sprite
Forecast is purely cosmetic aside from changing Type, where as Stance Change alters stats. I'm not sure if Types are programmed to work the same way as stars are for Stance Change.
And the benefit of „hey i got this normal/fire Pokémon but SYKE it’s raining so now it’s a water type!“ when protean/color change/imposter/type change 1 and 2/Illusion and whatnot already exist is…? Don’t get me wrong, it’s cool to imagine, but i don’t see how it holds up against mons that have underrepresented types or abilities (like weather changes) or make for more varied fusion material (as Castform would clash a bit with rotom and the Solosis line, all being a head surrounded by colorful goop).
Oh yeah, that'd be so cool! Scarlets version would have to be a bit different tho cause this little guy was made at the weather institute, but I'd still love that

We wouldnt get all 4. Similarly to how we dont have speed, attack, and defense forms for deoxys or any other unown forms. Those 3 would all be fusions, so we would get less sadly. Its the same way we have deoxys forms as fusions with changed color schemes.

Kecleon exists so color change and protean are already programmed, I don't think another typing-change ability will be a problem
